the car market is crashing which means you can get an incredible deal like I just did on these three Exotics all three of these together cost me less than one of them did new of course there's a little bit more to that these things are all so cheap because they're very mechanically broken and I'll tell you about their issues in a moment as well as a complete garage update I'm going to show you what's leaving the farm what is coming in fresh and catch you up to speed and all the current projects we're in the middle of but first I got to take a trip to the tool cart so that we can prepare ourselves for what could be one of the biggest jobs we've ever taken on let's see if we can't find what we're looking for not in there oh here it is right here let me show you how this works just pop up your podt and take a sip and The Taste is something you just got to experience you see the Iration generated by this AA bottle is bringing this bold cherry flavor straight to my taste buds all through scent so there's no sugars no calories No Junk dunk whatsoever all I'm really drinking is water but it's flavored and it tastes amazing and for me air up has become so much more than a water bottle it's made a real positive impact on my daily routine not only am I consuming more water but I find myself driving right past the drive-throughs and gas stations where i' usually stop to pick up one of those unhealthy drinks and since the airup flavor pods are so small they obviously travel well which means you can keep a bunch of different flavors on the go my favorite is the iced tea Peach it has a great tea flavor but of course since it's just water there's no caffeine it's amazing to think that one bottle equals a multitude of flavors with air up find the one that suits you best down at the link in the description box and if it's one of your New Year's resolutions to be a little healthier this is a great way to start hit that link in the description box and discover air up now the cool thing about all three of these cars is that the prices were all relatively the same within ,000 or $2 of each other they cost the same making them an outstanding deal and giving you guys a little bit of an idea of what what I might have paid for them but they were all sold as is with problems some of them being very significant and I want to start things off here with the Bentley which was listed at the auction with an air suspension fault now when I saw the original pictures this thing was slammed on the ground currently it is not because I have figured out what is going on with the air suspension it is not completely fixed at this point but at least I have it sitting right when it was delivered to me it was squatted on the trailer the backend sitting as low as it gets the front end as high as it gets it looked quite ridiculous but just like everything when you think you've got it all figured out you're not quite there even though the air suspension fault was the main thing listed as the problem with this bentle there was a bit more than that and I found one other major part that has failed on this thing that is going to require a huge disassembly of the front end of this car this one is a 2019 model year so it comes with some cool features like the 100th anniversary package this was an option but if you ordered it you got these gold rim Bentley logos with the date in them which is cool when you consider it's a 100th anniversary edition but it's not so cool if you got to show up to the country club with the latest and greatest model year but it was also the first year of the twin turbo V8 engine the same engine used in the Lamborghini years and also the Porsche Cayenne Turbo a lot of the higher-end Audi's like the RS6 and RS7 and I would argue the V8 is the better of the two engines it's a lot lighter it's a lot less of a maintenance hog it's still pretty well crammed in there and difficult to work on things however you could tune these for insane levels of power output you know sometimes less is more and I think that's really the case with the Bentley V8 now besides getting a discount on this one because of its issues the market for the Bentley BGA has been decimated these have some of the worst resale of any Modern Luxury s SUV and I think I can show you why very simply I've used this car very little so far because I'm not 100% through with all the repairs but I've noticed something if you take a look at these switches right here all of them I'm not complaining about the quality because I think they're actually really nice but just remember what all this looks like for when we walk just a few feet over there to our Audi RS7 this car is years older and it is obviously a much different form factor from the Bento but it's made and what it looks like the same exact place all the switches all the buttons and the features are darn near identical on this RS7 but more importantly on all the new SUVs from Audi someone laminated the window sticker to this Bentley it's pretty basic and it costs nearly $200,000 but when you consider an Audi sqat rsq8 cost about half that new it's why this car is depreciated so much obviously they're a little bit of a different form factors but the cars themselves are so similar why are you going to pay double for virtually the same thing okay I know they're not identical but even the Porsche Cayenne Turbo loaded up is going to cost significantly less than this car which is why these things just tank in value I personally think Bentley wasn't creative enough when they developed this car it's what sets Bentley apart from Rolls-Royce and why the Rolls-Royce sell for so much more money than these cars because even though there's a lot of BMW bones in modern rolls-royces the difference between a BMW X7 and a Rolls-Royce Colin is very different the drivetrains are completely different the suicide doors are different and the Interiors are virtually indistinguishable from one another and even though all those things might seem negative the positive is you can pick up a Bentley for less than a well equipped J Genesis which looks virtually identical speaking of knockoffs when I picked up the California I was a little concerned that this might be like one of those modern Maserati very pretty to look at but kind of underwhelming I've been driving it the last few days and I'm happy to report that this car is still very much a Ferrari we got stuff like carbon ceramic brakes which I think are pretty unnecessary for this car but it all kind of works and it's all just kind of worn out now got a lot of cosmetic problems with this one here in the interior a lot of small stuff on the outside that's the least of my concerns no joke the check engine light came on in this car a few miles out from where I picked it up and it's kind of a concerning code that it threw we've got to dive a little bit deeper and do a little bit more checking before you get totally freaked out but this has a flat plan crank Ferrari V8 something again you won't find in any of the modern Maseratis and it sounds pretty amazing from what I've gathered with the engine code we currently have this is one of those issues that could cost us a couple hundred to fix or it could cost over $10,000 uh hopefully we don't get that far with it but this is actually a car I am enjoying way more than I ever thought I would I kind of like this better than any of the older V12 Ferraris it just has that kind of new feel the interior has a lot of updated Electronics while it's still miles behind its competition as far as the technology goes it's a Ferrari so it's got that special feel to it when you drive I'm really hoping we could sort this one and make it work but it is going to be a total roll of the dice I'm not super confident in it now even though I'm not very confident with this one that would be an understatement when it comes to the McLaren mp412c now I've owned another one of these before the other one I had was very well taken care of darn near perfect this one happens to have one of the shadiest histories of any modern super car I've ever seen when you look this VD number up there are million red Flags it's what made this specific McLaren so incredibly cheap but also a complete Basket Case as you see opening these doors is uh a bit interesting now that they're over 10 years old but they do still work things are coming to life in there some things and uh well some of these panels are very loose now it's something you won't be able to see on camera but somebody has repainted this entire car see you got to slam the doors and the job is worse than terrible again since it's Black it doesn't show up very well on camera and actually looks amazing I wish I was just always looking at it through the camera uh in order for it to be perfect it really should be completely resprayed but if you want to just live with a super ridiculously cheap McLaren if we can sort this one mechanically which is going to be my main focus with it well then it could be a heck of a deal and these are really unbelievable cars besides it being dirty and a bunch of shrouds missing here in the engine bay look at the shocks to the lid they're completely gone and this is not even real glass it's a piece of plexiglass so it's really light oh boy this is going to be a fun one just ignore the disgustingly dirty Ferraris here and set your sights a little higher on the Cayman turbo which has been running beautifully ever since we got the scavenge pump set up installed but it was a major need of a suspension upgrade this had some old original dampers on lowering springs that were clearly worn out rode a bit wooden so we've upgraded things with a billstein adjustable coilover set now billstein makes some of the best suspensions a lot of OE suspensions and this one not isn't just height adjustable it's also rebound and compression adjustable with that little knob on the bottom here this should transform are Cay in from a car that just has power to an incredibly fun but usable street car I love having a cheap Porsche around that Cay and definitely fits the bill especially since we only paid like what the car was 11 or 12 Grand by itself we only got a few more thousand in the fixes and realistically all cleaned up that would be worth probably double what we got into it so that was a good buy not everything is a good buy some stuff we just need to say goodbye to and well I put the C7 Corvette in that category now a lot of you weren't a fan of the matte paint I totally understand this is more of like an acquired taste nobody really does matte right now a lot of people choose satin that's what the wrap was before it got all moldy on the AMG GT I had three c6s and I loved them all that's why I wanted to get something newer the C7 this car is faster it handles better it's smoother it is so much more refined but with all that stuff it makes it the inferior driver's car there's something about a Corvette there the reason why I like him they're a bit rough around the edges they're not meant to be super smooth and comfortable and well this is kind of like the Honda Accord Corvettes to me so I never ended up really liking this I probably drove it for a couple weeks after we were done fixing it up and we just kind of parked it out here so this is one I'm definitely going to be getting rid of it's probably worth somewhere in the mid 20s when it comes to the AMG GTS this one is more so a disappointment because I've let you guys down on it this is a really slick car with a really unique problem that I think will be very interesting to dive into these cars came with getrag Transmissions that were used in a lot of Ferraris and also the 4D GT now this one fires right up I run it every few weeks to make sure it all works well because I want to keep it in good running shape the engine seems really nice and it has very low miles and unfortunately it's just that transmission that is known to be problematic and it was so problematic that Mercedes actually extended the warranty out on these cars this one if it didn't have a branded title would have been eligible for that warranty replacement transmission but unfortunately I buy things cheap I take the liability and that's why I am stuck with a car that will drive but it will only drive in limp mode if we went to Mercedes and wanted them to just pull out and replace this transmission the cost would be north of $20,000 it's a very expensive gearbox so we'll be pulling it ourselves hopefully when that Porsche gets off the lift this will be the next one there I'm really really excited to get back into one of these twin turbo amgs I love my C63 that I recently sold I paid less for this car this has one of the best shapes of the modern amgs one of the best looks in my opinion maybe not this one with the mold on the wrap but otherwise it's still really sharp take a look at this this is a clip from just a little while ago when there was two cars out in this field I no longer have the Audi or the BMW those two have been replaced by 1 2 3 4 five 6 7 8 9 other cars and we've got to get it back down to one or two these all have to go with the exception of my Ford truck back there uh the only real new addition to the field is the SL600 Mercedes the twin turbo V12 which I picked up I think it was around like $4500 this car which sounds ridiculously cheap and is ridiculously cheap for a running and driving V12 which it actually does run and drive but we can't currently run it without the risk of burning out our ABC pump it's a very complicated hydraulic system that these V12 and uh upper range Mercedes from this era have and well uh we got to do a little work on it it's one of the big reasons these things end up in Parts Breakers yards instead of on the road driving it's not the gas mileage that makes them super INE efficient it's the reliability you know I said all of them got to go out here but the truck all of them got to go but the truck and the ZR1 we're holding onto this is actually way more fun to drive than the C7 and the huge news is there is going to be a new garage in the new year for it to live in so it will be moved to a garage slot very soon and of course I can't ignore the Viper truck this is one that I always loved growing up and I still love just looking at it it's so cool that it's mine we made this a lot better than it was when I got it the bumper all fixed up of course we've got those red V10 Viper valve covers seems to run really darn good and we replaced a ton of Parts on it but when you drive it it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense the automatic transmission in these Quad Cab trucks really killed a lot of the power of that V10 engine it's not fast it's really just kind of unimpressive to Drive especially with all the other stuff we got going on out here now if you ask me which car I would take to a car show that wasn't an exotic it would be this hands down it's got that mean looking front end of course again that V10 Viper engine it is super cool to look at but I just don't have any use for it I'd imagine on a good day this is worth you know the higher teens range 17 18,000 bucks and for that someone can have some fun with it so on a rough count we just saw nine out here in the field and then there was another nine between the front field and the bar I'm starting to think I have a problem especially because that's not even all of them I've got a few more parked over down the street and I'll catch up with you when we get over there a lot of people think I store all my cars outside and over the grass and it's not completely true here's three they get the garage treatment and they all share one thing in common that's that they're all broken let me start with the Ferrari 612 which has been my most reliable Ferrari period this car always starts up always seems to drive pretty decently and that's still the case but the last time I took it out recently this entire radio just ripped out of the dashboard along with the climate knobs here and the problem with all this is that well you obviously can't drive like this but they don't make the radio surround anymore for this car and if you even try and find to use one good luck because they obviously don't hold up very well now this is an aftermarket stereo from the early 2000s so it's extremely Hefty and uh that combined with the Florida sun in combined with the fact that Ferrari uses some of the worst Plastics has created a absolute mess now this is where I want to hear from you guys down in the comments how would you solve this problem I'm wondering if someone would need to make a fiberglass surround for this or whether it could be scanned and then a solution could be 3D printed uh this is not a perfect rectangle unfortunately so what do you think would be the most efficient way to fabricate a new surround for our stereo here so even though this problem is really dumb at the very least the car will start if we needed to but when it comes to the Audi R8 this one while it might start is not going anywhere and that's because clutch pedal likes to stick to the floor as annoying as this problem is at least it's a bit more straightforward we just have a fail master cylinder and really the hardest part of this job is just sourcing the part the dealerships don't seem to carry these none of the online shop here in the United States to you have to order this part overseas luckily my friend ratar Rosa has secured one for me he has it in hand and he'll either be shipping it over or maybe he'll just fly over along with it and join us for the job but it's by far the Ferrari 430 that has the most convoluted problem out of all these cars now when we were finishing up the last steps on this car I purposely left this side of the Interior completely undone now this car will start and this car will drive but it just won't do it to its full potential and that's because it has a failed potentiometer now this is the sensor that sits on the gear boox that tells the car what gear it's in and this is a very common failure part on the F430 so I went to order this part and guess what it's on National back order which means that Ferrari will sell them to you but they'll get them to you whenever they kind of feel like it you're at the mercy of the manufacturer sometimes these National back orders are permanent like they'll just never make these parts again like the radio bezels in the 612 and sometimes you'll get them in a month sometimes you'll get them in a year but staying at the mercy of Ferrari is just ridiculous but no matter how ridiculous I think it is it's really the only way out there is one alternate solution which I think is a great one and that's that you manual swap this car because when you do that you get rid of the potentiometer now a quarter of the manual swap job is actually disassembling your interior since you install the shifter right here and then there's a grommet down there where the shift cables run through why I kind of halted the job on the 360 that kit might end up in this car uh but I'm not completely sold on the idea let me know what you guys think down in the comments one of the bright sides is that it would make this car way more reliable and of course it would increase its resale value I have had so much fun this year with our budget builds it's definitely a theme I plan on continuing in the new year there's only one major issue with these cars and that's that they are so cheap which makes them so easy to buy if I continue doing that well my field will be even more cluttered than it already is so I realistically probably have to start selling all of these even though I don't want to the $700 Range Rover has been Rock Solid since its valve body repairs the E55 AMG while it leaks a little bit of oil still a excellent running and driving car this is one that could be fixed up a little bit and be worth way more than the $5,000 we paid for it but unfortunately the $1,500 R500 has been a bit of a basket case after it's most recent repairs I've had a lot of requests to do this garage update but I put it off for a very long time because I knew once I started going through the cars I would start counting and realizing that I've got a major problem on my hand seriously I'm at addiction levels of buying here I think the number is somewhere around 30 or over 30 everything I showed you today is not every single car I own there are multiple others in other places there's a couple behind the camera here and it's just um it's not sustainable and that's something I want to be able to show you guys is something that is sustainable whether it is buying a project exotic and fixing it up a little bit at a time or whether it's buying a $700 Range Rover and fixing something to make it a cheap daily driver but having 30s something cars you start to work on one you jump to the next you start losing Parts you start losing interest and as time goes by you start losing money so I'm making myself a new year's resolution right now I want to put 15 of these cars at the very least on the market and if I sell around 10 I'll be in a good spot I'm going to give myself one excuse as to why I have so many so quickly and that's because with the car market being so high for a lengthy period of time I actually was pretty reserved at that point and I bought a couple cars here and there and a lot of them were pretty inexpensive you know but when the stuff like this was super expensive I really just didn't go near it because I knew at one point it would come crashing down and well you'd have buying opportunities and as soon as the market came down these were all huge buying opportunities I simply couldn't pass them up from the uh budget perspective but now we got to get to work on them and I hope you guys stay along for the ride watch the upcoming dedicated videos cuz there's going to be a lot of them so if you're not already subscribed to the channel make sure you hit that button below and our following me on Instagram where I provide updates to the channel before anything goes live on here guys I can't thank each and every one of you enough because without you this car buying addiction as crazy as it might be would not be possible and it does make me very happy so again thank you all so very much I'll catch you very [Music] soon yeah
