I 100%'d Mario vs Donkey Kong, Here's What Happened

I'm going to 100% Mario versus Donkey Kong by Saving every toy and present from that blasted ape and beat all the post game including time attack it's a beautiful Saturday morning and DK is watching the tube amazing mini Mario toy hurry [Music] [Applause] bananas G obsessed with the figurines Donkey Kong invades the Mario toy company I haven't seen children this frightened by a monster since an can storm to the Jedi Temple oh stop come back H I liked what you said in the original game come back here you big monkey I'm on your tail buddy don't you know Mario's building a media Empire to beat out Pokémon I'm going to get you how'd you fit through that doesn't matter I'll find the key and gather the dropped merchandise along the way and I can't believe you stole presents too also this is a terrible hiding place for the key I accessed the second half of the the level revealing one of the many stolen toys on my way up there I pick up trash NAB more presents and leap over shy guys to save the first mini me in order to 100% this game I need to get all the presents and toys to unlock a star for each stage I'm not so nice the next time around with the shy guys when I get the hammer back from mine and Donkey Kong's first Go Round by the way this malet can extinguish fires too all that pounding must have strengthened Mario's arms enough to swing himself from These Bars then I used a trash can to get a gift and grabbed another toy doesn't that ape know I hate cardio I'll show him by throwing a trash can at his shy guy holy crap never mind the garbage is alive back to the Monkey Bar it is each stage has its own set of puzzles and I'm not the brightest when it comes to puzzle games but so far so good you can't make that jump Mario have you thought about trying to jump with your hands wait how is Mario jumping higher with his hands silly Mario why'd you walk into that falling brick when you could have just been blocking them with your feet I don't know why that works but I don't care for now let's get all the collected mini Mario's home the penultimate level of each world has Mario guiding them back to their box while collecting the letters t o y along the way it's all part of Mario's capitalist venture to retire from Plumbing DK Waits at the end of the Toy Factory starting our first spout against each other his buttons unlock the corresponding platforms to their colors and spawn trash cans which I of course Chuck at his face he also pulls a chain that drops a bunch of junk down towards me I continue throwing garbage at him a second third and fourth time you know DK if you never pressed any buttons I would not have been able to hurt you defeated the monkey escapes by exiting through the roof and makes his way back to DK jungle it's his home so it's no surprise there are ropes to climb to slide down and to jump across if I grab two at a time I climb much faster we are in the jump jungle so there are crumbling rocks to run past monkeys tails to hang on to and barrels to throw at the endangered Rhino species wao Mario can lift a rhino with his bare hands you must be the one responsible for poaching them aren't you watch out for that bird marioo no way believe it or not you couldn't jump on these birds in the original Mama M ooh food going to go grab oh crap it killed a rhino these fruits are killing machines Mario stop it your corporate greed is getting out of hand well you got your toys so let's get out of here it took me a while to figure out why the mini Marios weren't following me then I found a spring to bounce up the little guys and brought them to their box DK is on his home turf this time which should make things harder or not you'd think he'd be immune to the fruits of his country but no I'm going to knock this ape out and bring him back to my homeland [Music] I land the final blow but unfortunately DK rubs it off and escapes to the Fire Mountain oh stop come back as expected things heat up here with all the lava and there are even spots that spout geysers I continue scaling the mountain by hopping on the heads of nines elevating up with the use of these discount looking THS and getting crapped on by Firebirds but I'm more interested in these fire breathing sniffers here how do I recruit you guys I could use some guards at the factory in case a certain monkey invades again halfway up the mountain things got a little more complicated I had to figure out which order to press the buttons turns out the yellow one was throwing me off the whole time it wasn't even needed to complete the objective H how do I get this present the sniffers are Spike proof too you guys really don't want to come work for me uh-oh the volcano is about to erupt and the Blasted key is all the way on the bottom dang DK why' you have to put it on the other end of the stage after almost melting inside the volcano I still needed to get the toys back to their box first I had to bounce off a spring to bring them all the way to the other side only to drop them down twice then I had a close call but I managed to press the blue button just 1 second later and I would have had to do it all over again it's boss fight time Donkey Kong is going classic throwing barrels down the platforms you can't handle fruits but lava rocks are okay hey and you thought the barrels were going to save you this time I'm a Jumpman I'm a Mario I'm a oh that was a close one no more fooling around I finished him like the good old arcade days Donkey Kong flees again this time to the First new world of the Remake marry mini land in this world flowers can make Mario float and the switches change which flowers blow they can carry him and also do the same with the key one level involved a trampoline which I used to complete a small timed section where I had to run across the whole stage in order to reach the key on time on to the next one the bombs make their first appearance and they do exactly what you think they do they go boom ah exploding things sure is fun especially with a reward waiting on the other side some magic boxes could also teleport me around cutting Mario across areas alongside the key and into the next puzzle there I combined the power of bombs and magical boxes tele reping around i juggled a b bomb and the key to NAB more presents now watch me jump on this Cannonball you can't oh this wouldn't be surprising if I don't know he didn't do it in every other single Mario game in existence I can't tank cannonballs and the little guys can't handle spikes I don't know what I was expecting of course they ride the wind too now I can collect the letters along the way and store them back in the toy box this may be a new world but DK is back with his butt buttons and trash cans at least this time he has spiked barrels and this fight was easy to cheese cuz the blue flower was right next to him so I just waited for him to push the blue button smacking his face with trash four times DK I've said it before but if you never pushed a button I would not have been able to hurt you defeated again DK changes up the scenery luring me into a spooky house ah there's the real THS there's also more falling stuff like these spikes I can step on and these mini THS just like from Super Mario World later I had to race against the clock to recover the key in time I used the climbing skills I learned from DK jungle and got there in the nick of time however next stage I got stuck in a room with some Shield Knights and for some reason Mario can't move while crouching it's not an advanced technique and I've seen you do it before Mario how do I get past this guess all I can do is sit here and await death I'm alive and past that point I didn't expect DK's toys to help me nor did I ever think shy guys would haunt me as ghosts good thing I can turn them into blocks against their will but little did I know there were real booze just around the corner it's okay I'm ready I have the Ultimate ghostbusting Weapon direct eye contact don't look at me eye contact doesn't work on the shy guys though so I had to untrap them with switches and use them as blocks once again to Traverse the various structures as fun as the haunted house was I was ready to leave this time I had to trap the THS with the Press of a blue switch followed by the red switch providing safe passage while getting the letter T same with the O and Y there you go guys just hop into that box already now to take out the primate a living Shy Guy I'll make sure you're dead by the end of this I got to stop Donkey Kong from pressing those buttons because he's able to resurrect them by inputting their corresponding colors their movements were kind of tricky so I had to restart to get a perfect score I deciphered out their patterns my second time around and smacked Donkey Kong until he was done for if only I could figure out how to stop him from running away well next we climb slippery Summit the second new world of the Remake gimmick here is the slippery ice for a while I couldn't for the life of me find out how to slide this key safely to the other side took me a while to realize I just had to push the red button and somehow Mario's hands don't slip on the ice I have no idea how but it's good to know I also discovered when he struck while holding the key he gets temporary invincibility ooh o that blue Icy Fire looks dangerous now I'm just kidding it gets extinguished with the hammer okay now how do I get past here I keep trying to slide through but that's clearly not working oh duh magic box work smarter not harder with my brain finally working I was able to slide the key across the ice and grab it in time in the toy stage I baited the icicles to provide my Lego Mi safe passage made them jump on a trampoline and slide on the Frozen floor to collect letters then we jumped on a spike to to the Box securing the company's Revenue it's about time to have another DK fight the hardest boss battle in the main part of the game in my opinion Donkey Kong throws spiked barrels and also controls a platform on top of the sliding ice with snowballs falling from the sky if I wanted to hit him I needed to wait for him to spawn the regular barrels which wasn't easy since he was constantly moving up and down on top of that not getting hit myself for a perfect score was quite hard those dang spiked barrels and falling snow got me multiple times afterwards I realized it was better to stay in the back or on the bottom to avoid them while also trying to toss my barrels on the highest platform as they would always hit DK I remained mindful of my surroundings and the stealing monkey soon ate another loss instead of jumping why don't you grab him while he's down do you guys want to keep doing this forever to No One surprise DK runs away again bringing us to the mystic forest this place feels more techsavvy than mystical in my opinion because of the switch conveyor belt technology you see on screen now it took me a few tries just to get past the first stage since the key timer was really close to expiring before I got to it the next part was pretty much the same except it added piranha plants to the mix you guys think you're safe well think again die die die got to give it to these monkeys with symbols they're never bothered when I need their assistance now I just need to cross this Gap hey patience just a little more okay now how did I not grab [Music] that second time I crossed with no problems leading me into a timed key trial that took multiple attempts I couldn't figure out how to get the key across then I realized I had to throw it up and run to switch to the conveyor belt but I still didn't reach the button in time the trick was to toss it up while jumping so I could reach the conveyor belt on time then I pressed the red button and ran reaching the key at the very last second next stage the B bombs are back time for more explosions overall the layout was simple with one clear route leading towards the next two dang Mario you're lucky this game has no fall damage but can you survive the wrath of [Music] bats how are you not dead during this stage I had to climb some ropes across the stage then slide all the way down to the bottom and press a blue button which allowed me to bring the key all the way up to the door a while later I discovered a Wonder of nature being bitten by a bat doesn't turn you into a vampire instead it makes you immune to cannonballs after that I accidentally pulled off a back flip that made the rest of the segment a breeze what wasn't an accident though was me setting a bomb and doing a series of double jumps to grab another toy with that I'm near the end of mystic forest time to put the mini Marios back into their toy box destructible blocks pave the way around the letters and box just got to put these explosives on the right places get the letters and hop into my next sprawl against DK this time the big monkey brought the bombs and conveyor belts but I don't think they did him any favors I just had to haul them at DK before they blew up is it just me or is DK pressing that switch more often yeah he definitely is and on his final life he's chucking more B bombs at me too I decided to stay out of The Fray until the perfect opportunity when I saw an opening I nabbed a bomb and got him but DK was ready to run away one last time right into the last World Twilight City the streets here are filled with lasers that I have to patiently sneak past the shy guys are throwing wrenches now what and are those minions what happened to you guys you know what I'm not complaining cuz now you have tails I can hang on to oh how do I get that guess I need to make sure both minions are sinked until the left Minion's position mirrors the one I'm holding on to then I slam the red button when both are inside the Red Blocks allowing me to swing from scarf to scarf putting the key Within Reach lasers become a nuisance further ahead combining their annoyance with conveyor belts making things a little trickier before I know it I'm traversing the whole city with platforms hovering above spikes and courageously pulling off leaps of faith I run into the minions again and hold on to one of them in order to desync them they humped me down below but were obstacles up above shoo shoo let me pass further on I had to race against the clock after hurling this key onto a treadmill and circled underneath it to tap the yellow switch then safely secure it in my possession in the nick of time the trials keep coming with me having to deal with Shield Knights again and electrical outbursts despite them getting close I got the skills to pay the bills the rest of Twilight City constantly puts me in near-death situations having to put my life on the line for meaningless gifts tiptoeing near the edge to Chuck B bombs where they need to be ooh you missed me almost at the end I guide the Mario toys via conveyor belt activating the switches and correct colors in order to safely transfer them across bounce them all back up to get them to the chest oh wait how do we get up oh there's a trash can how convenient come on little guys time for the last Showdown against DK it's actually kind of an indirect fight the ape Chucks up bombs to the top treadmill and all I have to do is switch the direction of the belts until they fall on DK all while I'm dodging lasers too if you get the bomb to the bottom belt it's gigg from there because Donkey Kong has no way to get them to me at that point in the end DK casually finished himself thanks for doing my job Mario let's stop him once and for all that big monkey is all out of toys and I'm surprised how sympathetic everyone is acting here in the original they straight up laughed at him back [Music] then oh snap he's stealing toads what have they done to you they're going up the tall building don't worry fellas I'll save you similar to all of our previous brawls Donkey Kong has control of the red blue and and yellow switches which in this case determine which Keys appear all while dropping small spiked barrels and ginormous ones too I used each key to its corresponding toad saving them in the process and make it near the top with the last key to free the last one now to finish off the Beast well I would if Mario's signature move to jump on enemies wasn't worthless in this game what am I supposed to do I can't touch the barrels I'm a Sitting Duck oh I thank you toads hope this giant Barrel does the trick it worked dang monkey got me soon after though at least I didn't have to repeat the first half with the Toad's help I got back at him hitting DK twice Donkey Kong you're no different than any of Mario's other bosses three lives and you're out finish some toads oh he fell on his own the Toads were more ruthless than the [Music] original Donkey Kong did deserve that long fall down crashing into a truck but I guess he hasn't learned anything Mario you got to stop letting this buffoon get away and are you freaking kidding me we have to do it all over again M here we go again but first time Attack Mode since I'm familiar with the main games levels I decided to do that before moving on to the new plus worlds I won't bore you showing all of it again since it's just the same stuff except I did it faster it did take me around 3 hours to get through though so if you're enjoying the video why not in turn like And subscribe in this mode you got to beat a preset timer and there are no presents just the key and toy in each stage beat them fast enough and you'll net yourself a gold coin however the mini Mario still have to collect letters to open up their box also in the DK fights I could get hit since the focus was the timer as long as I finished the bout on time the gold coin was mine I was slightly worried about the ice battle versus him but it was easier since I could take a hit oh why didn't I think of this before anyhow a few hours later and I had earned a gold coin for all of the time attack levels thus far let's get into the plus Worlds returning back to Mario's Toy Factory initially I thought the only change with the post game was going to be the difficulty but the levels are actually structured differently too instead of looking for a key I team up with a toy that already has one there are still presents to recover and there is only one room per level as opposed to the usual two-part stages I was delighted to discover they were shorter levels because the Plus worlds overall felt Samy with the only gameplay difference being that I have to protect the little guy and the DK boss fights had hardly any changes too like here it's the same fight except there's more platforms now going back to DK's jungle made me realize how much of a liability the Mario figurines are if they die I died too fortunately the paths to Victory are straightforward so far the last level of the Jungle was the first to make me pause and think how to get my mini me and I both up to the exit at the same time turns out I had to pick up the Hefty Rhino hop on my little friend's head then hurl the Beast onto the spikes which finally gave both of us safe passage to the door at the end of the woods DK's sliding grass platform had improved AI I guess but I still nailed all of my fruit bmps one after another in Fire Mountain I learned that often the best way to gather the gifts was to abandon my small fry while I retrieved the goodies then I would safely escort him to the locked door sometimes they just wouldn't cooperate how IID want them to no now's not the time to bounce on the trampoline that little bugger made me Sprint to the lower left of the screen risking my life hanging above certain death just so I could manipulate him properly to NAB that collectible the boss encounter here so far was the most unique compared to its original counterpart the room started completely filled with volcanic ash and had a couple of those ripoff swamps it was no sweat though over at the fair we took advantage of shy guys caught in the flowery winds and soon after ran into DK again who upgraded his attraction with more platforms and flowers all I had to do was wait for him to activate the red and blue scaffolding which would bring me right to him him when yellow was turned on I stayed patient waiting for my next opportunity to donk him I didn't think there were any spectacular levels in the spooky house to feature so here's a mini Mario performing a tricky jump that took a few attempts to get right a bre another DK brawl another easy way to cheese the win there's supposedly an Unwritten rule that ghost shy guys are not allowed pass this point slippery Summit had a few moments where I had to carefully Slide the toy while being on a different plane than them most of those types of challenges were followed with some teleportation added in and wa slow down there buddy the biggest Miracle of this entire playthrough was my rematch versus Donkey Kong in the winry land I won with a perfect score on my very first attempt I thought I was going to be here for ages considering how bad I did last time in this kind of climate against him of course whenever I have a good streak a bad one is bound to follow specifically this vertical climbing stage in the mystical Forest that the Lego Mario is terrible act because they have no dodging skills whatsoever the solution to this obstacle was waiting lots and lots of waiting I keep on babying the trinket by luring the shy guy over to the left who then decides my mini me is no longer a threat and falls asleep speaking of threats Donkey Kong's battle here is one of the most forgettable and painless to beat oh and I totally forgot to mention how easy it is to find the presence in most of these plus levels like look at this are they even trying to hide them almost every stage they were just out in the open anyways the last plus level ends with a race against a trash can on a conveyor belt and I literally could not tell the difference with the boss fight here compared to the first time I was in Twilight City however the ending did have a Twist Donkey Kong's bag was no longer empty with a few mini Marios to spare but he was still pissed that was all he had left so for the third time he enters the Mario Factory and comes out with a giant robot monkey suit what the heck are you building inside that factory Mario never mind I can't argue with you right now I'm going to die if I don't wait DK is just chilling there and slowly attacking H works for me I thought it was going to be worse but if he wants to sit there I won't stop him I do still got to be careful though cuz one hit will take me out and I'll stumble If I Stay grounded when he pounds to counter that I get midair right when he attacks then continue my Onslaught after I save all six of the toys from his grasp he reveals a new move sliding his fist to the side the next time he winds up I just go to land the finishing blow which disables the machine shocks the ape that ejects him from the control panel Mario reclaims all of his stolen goods but sees DK in the corner acting jealous it's okay Mario tries to show empathy for his rival and well my dad thinks I'm a joke too yeah well your dad's right the story is all cleared but now I got to do time attack for the plus worlds thankfully they go even faster this time because each of the levels only have one section some of them went incredibly fast like this one which only took 7 seconds and that's about all there is to time attack concerning the plus worlds everything went pretty much the same except I went faster but oh there is still more to do getting perfect scores throughout the entire game unlocked 16 expert levels not only were they more difficult than the average stage due to their more complex layouts they also had to be done in time attack mode and that's the version of each level I'm going to show with a brief review for each of them you've seen the gist of this one by now so let's get on to number two which consisted of a plethora of triple jumps that I needed to execute properly number three was the Pinnacle trial of an obstacle course involving moving platforms jeez I had to be exactly precise with my jumps here number four was back to Merry miniland fair and this was just a bunch of bomb Shenanigans combined with running frantically from flower to flower number five was the level of rising swamps they kept going up and up and I owe it all to the key for not dying at the end there number six was an icy environment a really easy icy environment to Breeze through I don't know how this was considered to be an expert level the next stage however man this took me the longest to beat of the whole game it's essentially dig duug except you slowly explode a route for yourself downwards if the bombs don't land right and your paths don't open up the way you planned you might as well start over number eight looks like a complicated hassle but it actually is a lot easier than it looks it's just really long I'm trying to Pat out this sentence so we can show as much of the stage as we can before we move on number I get to ride a shy guy I like riding shy guys get off of me number 10 is all about Free Falling because you only have 10 seconds to finish it number 11 is a generic Fire Mountain level wait a second these are getting easier number 12 has an array of flowers more than any other level I've seen number 13 I press the yellow switch right away to build a staircase of Blocky shy guyses to get the key number 14 Was a Race Against the keys timer while I also had to operate a conveyor belt and transport the trampoline to the other side number 15 I Juke out the enemy leading me to Victory and yeah I'm going to say it again the first half of expert levels were definitely harder although these still were a good time I'm finally done
