welcome back everyone you may have just bought your nintendo switch oled model and let's go ahead and kind of do a quick beginner's guide of this specific console now this is not going to be covering every little thing but for the most part you should have a good understanding of how to use your new nintendo switch now first of all on the front we now have this oled screen so essentially the big difference between this and the other oled or switch models is that this panel is a much better which is tremendous so i love seeing in that and that's pretty cool now on the left and right side we have our joy cons now these do come out as most of you know so we'll go over the buttons in a second but let's go over the actual just body of the specific console so on the front we have our display we have our joy cons right here so nothing crazy now up top we have some things that you may need to know so you have your joysticks so you have your triggers right here for some games that require them you have the power button right here you have the volume up and down button which is awesome so if you want to increase or decrease the volume you want to go and click these ones and this is the typical button to turn on your console but you can also click the home button on your specific joystick to turn it on you have your fan right here which is awesome you have a headphone jack and you also have your game cartridge you know little slot so if you want to go ahead and input a game you go ahead and take over and put open this specific slot and you go ahead and input the game cartridge right here and you go ahead and shut this out so that is for your you know hardy games that you have inside of you know that you buy a gamestop or something like that any digital game you'll go ahead and just store them on the console you don't have to worry about it now on the back of our console we do have the back of our joy cons right here which is great we have our eject buttons right here to take off our joy cons which i'll show you in a second and we also have a kickstand right here so what we can do is we can go ahead and open up this specific kickstand like so and it'll go ahead and open up like this and you can adjust this so if you want to go ahead and put it somewhere just kind of like have it you know kind of on the back well now this whole entire bag is a kickstand at least the bottom half which is awesome versus the other you know switch which is only a portion now on top of this if you look right here you will also see our micro sd card slot so if you want to you know actually insert a micro sd card inside of your nintendo switch oled model this is where you would go ahead and insert it so if you have any expandable storage and this is where you would go ahead and put that essentially and we can go and close this flap by closing it like this and clicking into place now on the bottom we do have our charging port so this is where you're going to go ahead and actually charge up your specific console so this is where you can also input it onto the dock as well you would slide it in just like this and it would click right into place so that is essentially that now like i mentioned earlier if you want to turn on the display you can go ahead and click on the power button right here you can also click on the home button right here and it should go ahead and boot up your display of your nintendo you know actual you know joy-con but here's the other thing let's say you want to go ahead and eject the joy-cons and put another joy-con to your specific console or maybe you want to go into you know two-player mode or whatever well if we switch our joy-cons to the back you'll see like i mentioned before you have these two eject buttons right here so if you want you can go ahead and click in the button right here and you can slide up so you click on this button and you slide your joy con up and it will go ahead and take out the joy-con so you can see i have the joy-con right here and you can do the same exact thing for the other side as well so we can go ahead and click in this button and slide up do not slide down and at this point we can go ahead and either use the joy cons like this if we want to but we can also switch them to the side if we look at the top you'll see that there's new two buttons so it's just like any other joy-con but you can go ahead and actually turn on your specific controller in handheld mode like this by clicking on this button but you can also click on the right trigger and the left trigger so that is pretty much how you do it it's very easy it doesn't take too much time you can actually use your nintendo switch just like this by using one controller you can also do it in two-player mode or all that other stuff which is really cool now if you want to put your joy-con back into your nintendo switch all you want to do is align your specific sliding mode right here to your specific joy-con now a great way to detect which way you're putting it in is you look at the you know triggers up top you want to make sure the triggers are always up top and you also want to make sure the power button of your nintendo switch is always pointing up as well so at this point we can just go ahead and slide it into place like this so click it in and when you hear that clicking sound that means it's in if you don't hear that clicking sound that did not go in properly so a case in point this is the wrong way of doing it so if we slide it in and we just slide in like this you can see it did not go in properly because it didn't click in and it's sticking out so you want to make sure it's locked into place like this and now it's not going anywhere so now we can go ahead and boot up our nintendo switch and the ui is very easy so on the left you'll have some news that's going around and different things like that you'll have the time up here wi-fi connection setting battery and you also see this little home option now sometimes you may see a game right here too so if you see a game that pretty much just means that there's a game that you were just on so you can just go ahead and go back into the game if you want to now you can click on the home button you can click on home right here a couple times and it'll take you straight into home now this is exactly where you want to be so the whole entire ui is very basic there's nothing super crazy about it essentially any apps or games that you have will come up right up here so if you have any other nintendo switch model including the switch light the nintendo switch dude even like a nintendo 3ds is pretty much the same thing so you'll have all these other games right here now you'll have the user in the top left so you can go ahead and change users too if you want to now i don't have any other user so we'll just go and come out of here you also see a little indication right here which specific mode you're on and again you'll see the time battery and all that other stuff up here there's really not a whole lot else going around it's really pretty much dictated on the games that you have so let's go and go through the bottom section first so right here to the left we have nintendo switch online so what this is is if you click on it it'll essentially go ahead and you know actually walk you through the process of the nintendo switch online if you have a nintendo switch online account now for this specific account i do not have a nintendo switch online account so you can see it's telling me to link a nintendo switch account so if you have not linked a nintendo switch account i would probably recommend doing so a majority of you who are watching this video probably have already done so so you probably don't even need to do this it'll take you straight into your nintendo switch online account you can pretty much move on from there now if we go and hop out of here this next section that we have is actually news so this will go ahead and tell us any news that we have you know anything that's you know kind of going on with the nintendo switch space there's been some new smash characters coming and different things like that so not i don't really go on here too often but if you're interested in seeing the news will you have that capability now if you ever want to click home and if you're ever in an application there's a home button right here it's right under on the right side underneath the joy-con and by clicking the home button it'll always take you home so you really don't have to do anything crazy you don't have to click on any buttons you don't have to power down your console you pretty much just click on the home button and it will always take you back into this space now this next option down here is the nintendo switch store so it's the eshop so we can go and click here now i don't even have an account set up so it's probably not going to tell us make us do it but essentially any application that you want to download anything like that you can do so straight from this nintendo eshop so if you ever wanted to download a game or download whatever well you have the capability of doing so straight within the nintendo eshop so that's another thing you have now the next thing is albums this is pretty much just like a photo little thing i don't really do it too often but you have the capability if you really want to so that's another cool thing any screenshots of videos you've made you can go through there now this next section is the controller section now this is very important because if sometimes you have you know your controller plugged in and you want to change the way it is you can also see the battery life your specific controller and the console as well well this is how you go and do it you can go ahead and change your grip order here you can go ahead and find controllers so just in case you can't find the controllers via a game you can always reconnect them here you can pair in new controllers as well so if you want to buy like the joycon pro so if you want to buy the switch pro controller you can go and connect the via this way and these are pretty much the main things you're probably going to deal with but most of the time it's automatically connected so you really don't have to monitor anything so at this point like i mentioned so just like so just like i mentioned you can click home and move out of there now this second to the last option is the settings system settings panel now this is one of the most important things you're probably going to mess with so if we go and click on system settings this is where a lot of our you know information and a lot of things you're ever going to tinker with this is where it's probably going to be so the first option it allows you to enable airplane mode so this is really awesome if you want to turn off wi-fi connectivity and all that stuff now screen brightness is the area if you want to go ahead and adjust the screen brightness of your specific console well you can go ahead and do that too and you can also enable or disable automatic brightness now me personally i don't like automatic brightness but if you want to turn up the brightness you can go and do this manually now screen lock if you want to set up a passcode or whatever you can do it if it's in sleep mode i don't really like messing with it now if you're a parent this is where you're probably going to go ahead and monitor the most you can go ahead and turn on or turn off your perional control settings i'm not a parent so i'm not going to do this now the internet option is the area you're probably going to spend a lot of time with it allows you to go ahead and connect to different internet connections and different things like that now it does show a lot of personal information so i'm not going to go in there right now but essentially if you ever want to you know monitor or disconnect or reconnect to another wi-fi setting this is the you know specific option for you now under data management this is where you can go and kind of see a quick look of what's taking up the most amount of storage for your specific you know nintendo switch now you can see i have 54.9 gigabytes left so i'm pretty much good to go but if you're downloading a huge amount of games like that's probably like a game and a half right there especially like animal crossing or smash so if you're downloading a lot of games not only will you be able to utilize the internal storage but you can install a micro sd card slot like we mentioned before and basically move your games to that micro sd card and pretty much move from there now they do have you know options of transferring your saved data managing your screenshots and videos but also deleting save data as well now i would recommend not deleting save data especially if you're in the middle of a game so don't even look at that option unless you're totally done with the game then you can go and delete everything from it now the next thing is users so like i mentioned this is essentially if you want to add another user to your console let's say you have a sibling or a kid you want to go ahead and have a separate user for you can go and do that here me i'm pretty sure everyone knows what these are and amiibos are the other thing too i think a lot of you know that by now now you can go ahead and set up different themes for your nintendo switch too so if you want to add a you know dark theme for your specific console you can go and click on the dark theme and it'll go and change here now if we click on the home button you'll see that'll be pretty much changing everything to the dark mode which is really awesome so i'm a pretty big fan of that and i like that a lot so we can work our way back into our system settings in this case i'm probably going to change it back to white because it looks better on video now you can also manage the notifications of your specific console so you can go ahead and monitor these and change these sleep mode is just another sleep mode if you want to go and change these options as well these are controller settings tv settings if you want to go and change these up and your system settings which this in of itself is another massive thing i will tell you as soon as you buy your nintendo switch you may actually want to go ahead and actually update your console so you may want to go and click on system update and see if there's an update available and most of the time there is an update available like there is now and i'll probably recommend you to update mostly because it does actually go ahead and sometimes makes your console a little bit better these nintendo switches can't really be you know modified too much so there's no point in just being on a lower version so i'd probably recommend updating if you want to go back you can always click the back button right here and you're back here so now let's go and click home and we'll come back to our home screen now another option besides downloading games and all that stuff and playing games i'm pretty sure everyone knows how to do that is how to quickly turn on and turn off your console so like i mentioned you can always click the power button up here to you know sleep your console but another thing you can do is hold down on the power on the home button right here and you'll come into this mode so instead of going into your specific you know settings every single time to modify things you can go ahead and hold down on the home button and find these quick little settings right here so in this specific case you can see we have sleep mode so if you want to quickly sleep your console you can go and click that we have auto brightness so like we said we turn it off immediately like right before we can also modify our brightness right here so we can increase or decrease the toggle right here to increase or decrease the brightness and also with the volume buttons up top we don't have to click on them every single time we can literally just go ahead and drag this volume all the way up and drag this volume all the way down in order to actually go ahead and increase or decrease the volume you can also turn on airplane mode right here too now airplane mode helps to save a battery life here and there but it's more so just for turning off connectivity and all that stuff you can hop out of it by clicking here and you'll come straight into your console so i'm pretty sure everyone knows how to use the controller and the joy cons by now too but essentially if you want to go ahead for most games they have a great breakthrough but essentially you will always hold your console like this the joy cons right here the joysticks these little buttons up here too the plus and minus buttons up here too and that pretty much is a quick walkthrough of your nintendo switch and that's pretty much how to use it for the most part if you guys have any other questions or anything like that let me know in the comment section below i have a lot more tutorials on my second channel of how to fix certain
