hello suppose you took some photos and recorded some videos on your android smartphone and now you would like to transfer those photos and videos from your android smartphone to your computer and that's what we're going to show you in this video today how to transfer photos and videos that you were that you took and recorded on your android smartphone to your computer so the first thing you'll need is of course your phone obviously you can turn it on and you're going to need your usb cable so some smartphones they might come with a usb cable which has an attachment that once it's connected to the usb cable it allows you to charge the phone in to plug the um charger into an outlet or a surge protector as a fast way of charging your phone and this of course this is just an attachment so when you disconnect it you've got your regular usb cable that you can connect from your phone you can use to connect your phone to your computer and that which allows you to charge your phone and also to uh transfer files from your phone to your computer so that's what we're going to talk about today we don't need this because we're not going to just be charging our phone in an outlet or surge protector we are going to be transferring files so the first thing you want to do is look for the usb port on your laptop or your computer tower that's we're going to do here we're going to just kind of zoom in a little bit and we're gonna show where we're gonna do that so you got your okay well first let's actually plug in the we're gonna plug the phone into one end of the usb cable so that's going to be right here if you don't have a usb cable you can buy one i guess on amazon you can just search for a usb cable for an android phone or whatever samsung or motorola or this is made by the company blue um but um you can find a usb cable for an android phone i'm sure that's pretty easy but if in case your phone in case your phone did not come with usb cable when you bought it so i'm just going to plug that in right here that's one end and now the other end you'll need to to connect to your computer so obviously before we do any of that before we transfer files let's first actually create some files so let's go to the camera right here and let's take a picture okay let's just take a picture and then we're gonna use this as an example for when we're transferring files so um let's just take a picture it doesn't really matter there's a picture let's also record a video just to show multiple files hello this is the video that we're going to be transferring from our android phone to our computer this is a video test okay so now that we recorded a video and we took a picture we're going to transfer those files plug in your usb cable to your phone right here and the other end will go to the usb port in your computer so we're going to show you how to do this with an android phone you took some pictures you made some videos now let's transfer those files okay so the usb port is right here i think so computer tower laptop it should have a usb port okay so now let's talk about what is happening on your device and on your computer so as you can see right here when we plugged when we connected our phone to our computer with the usb cable it shows this um it shows that on our computer if you if you click uh devices and drives or this pc which is right over here then it's going to show what kind of external devices you have plugged in so we have our phone but it's showing that there's nothing on it and that's the second part the first part is to connect your phone to your computer using the usb cable and it's going to show there's nothing there absolutely nothing there which is okay the second thing we have to do to make this actually work is to do something on our phone so this is where i was initially confused i was like how do i how do i see what's on the phone i took pictures i made videos why are they not there so here's what we have to do swipe down and now look at this okay this is very important sorry that it's a little bit dark over here i do apologize okay it says android charging this device via usb so what you want to do is you want to just scroll down here charging this device via usb it's um it's charging right now but we want to be able to use this usb cable for to see like what kind of files we have on our phone and we want to be able to transfer them to the comp to the computer so tap for more options that's what you want to do so the first thing you did as you can see let's just go over that again swipe down at the top and then swipe down a little bit again over here more options tap for more options charge only as you can see that's why we don't see anything on our computer only charging it according to this the second thing second option third option is camera i don't really know what that option is for p2p ptp this is what you want media transfer mtp file transfer now as you can see something changed on our computer now that we did that you don't need your phone anymore right that's all good you're done there that was the only thing you need to change look how it says internal shared storage now it says something like um uh maybe you can't see it from here but it says something like nine gigabytes three out of eleven so we have a lot of storage space uh free but what this is showing you is that it has now it's now recognizing that there's a device here and it's gonna show you the files on their device which is what we did when we swiped down here and we checked the option to um to to do media transfer okay that's what we did so now all we have left to do is just um let me just move this cam camera a little bit sorry about that all we have left to do is just to transfer our files to our computer so once you click here it's going to show you everything there we're going to click on there's a bunch of folders okay i don't know if you can see it there's a bunch of folders it's going to focus or no i don't know if you can see one of the folders says dcim right here dcim double click there i don't think it will be under pictures see there's nothing here okay some default wallpaper click here dc i am click on camera click on camera right here double click and you can see the two video files that we created there's a very short video file and a picture so now all you want to do is highlight them you can click drag your mouse to highlight both files or you can click underneath any of those files on the folder and and and do control a which will highlight all of your files control a now all you do is click on one of them and hold your mouse button and drag them onto your desktop or you can make a temporary folder on your desktop for the purpose of holding those files okay so now you have to wait for them to transfer and there they are on your desktop computer now what you want want to do is delete those files from your um computer so again you control a delete and they're gone now they're on our computer so now you don't need that anymore and you can actually disconnect your phone um from your computer or you can leave it charging but as you can see those are the two files we just made there's a video and a picture so let's look at the picture that's the that's the dark photo that that we just took okay and now the video is this one you're gonna hear it right now hello this is the video that we're gonna be transferring from our android phone to our computer this is a video test so that's pretty much it so i just showed you how to get the files to to show the files from there on your phone to show them as being to show what files are on your phone on your computer and then to transfer those files to your desktop which is what we did right here those are the two files picture in a video there might be other ways to do it but this is just the way that i do it especially if you do have especially if you do have a usb cable which allows you to plug your phone into your computer to charge it and of course as as we saw just to transfer files from your phone to your computer so that's pretty much it you do need a usb cable and if you don't have one and you do want one you can just definitely look on amazon and make sure you have one that's compatible with your android device whatever company company it is so that um just make sure you don't buy the wrong one for your phone and um they're not very expensive so after that you're good to go and once you take some videos make some pictures then that's all you need in order to get your files to your computer and the only thing you have to do as we talked about is just to make sure that you swipe down at the top and it says usb file transfer turned on tap again and of course you just want to select this option media transfer charge only it's not going to show anything on your computer saying that there are files on your phone it needs to be this one media transfer that's all for this video thank you for watching and have a nice day
