How to Scan and Email a document using your iPad

so how do we scan a document we're going to use our ipad and we're going to scan in um our assignment one which is the self portrait that students are making and you're going to email it to me and we can do all of that using our ipad so the first thing you're going to do to scan in a document whether it's a workbook page or this art this self portrait that we're making you're going to open notes and that is this app right here it says notes it looks like a notebook you're going to open it and i don't have any notes in my folder and i'm going to go up here to the top and there's a little square that has a pencil and i'm going to touch it and it opens a new note if you notice it's just a blank screen i'm going to touch the screen and it's going to have a blinking cursor this right here is our cursor and it's going to be blinking that means it's ready for us to do something on this note i'm going to come down here to the bottom right and if you look right here there's a camera we're going to open that by touching it and it says scan documents take photo or video or photo library we're going to scan documents and when we do that we're they're going to lift our ipad over the document that we want to scan it will turn yellow and then it takes it automatically you do not have to push anything um you just hold it still it'll scan it and then it takes it and if you notice it's take it has taken it two times it's going to take it a third once it focuses and then at the bottom you see it says save three well i have taken if you have multiple pages you can take those you can take one then move it and take the rest and we're going to hit save three okay and that's in your note well then to send it to me you're then going to go up here and see this square with the arrow you're going to click on it and we're going to go to outlook and you should have already set up outlook in your microsoft folder if not i'm going to show you that i'll have a video for that as well and here you're just going to type in my email address [Applause] and then up here see this little blue arrow looks like a little paper airplane you're going to hit send now it should ask me no it didn't sometimes it'll say the subject is blank do you want to continue or not it's okay you could write in what assignment it is or what what it is you're scanning in and sending to me that's fine but then i will get it and then i can grade it i can print it i can do whatever it is i need to from there so that's how you scan in a document scan in a document and send if you need to set up your microsoft outlook go back to home and if you look up here there's a folder called microsoft you're going to open that and i have my email set up but you will click on outlook and then you will enter in your students microsoft office the office 365 information that you received at pickup when you got the tablet it was on that card that was attached to the ipad and it it's their email and their password and that's how you'll set up outlook once you um click on the microsoft folder and then you'll click on outlook this one right here and that's our email and once it's set up then when you go to notes and you want to send something and you click outlook then it will automatically be attached to the email that is set up on outlook if you have any questions feel free to email and i will get back to you as soon as possible thank you
