How to repair a fence post [Cheap fence fix!!!] Handyman fix (AMAZON LINK)

a lot of you might be sitting at home I'm bored out of your mind I know I was for a while and you know there's some things that you've been staring at around the house I need to be fixed one of those things might be a fence or a fence post so I got this cheap fix for you that'll get you a few more years if not many years out of your fence if you've got a broken post or something like that this only applies to a three and a half inch like a 4x4 post sometimes just get saturated with water and a little bit of wind comes by and they just keel over the road you know the fence panels themselves are instilling are still in good shape but the post itself has snapped at the bottom so this fixes I said it's a cheap fix it's essentially a C channel like this one here and it slides into the ground and you lag bolt it to the post and if the post is really bad you can put two of them on but it's not even necessary so I'm gonna show you how to do this it's a quick fix so let's get into it if you like the content smash that thumbs up subscribe to the channel it's much appreciated let's get going [Music] so I've got this easy meander and it's a real easy fix it just covers the post and it'll reinforce that the bottom part that's broken or rotting away I've got this post behind me so it's a little rocky they put in this diagonal brace to try to save it it works I mean the diagonal brace will help this will be a little bit stronger so you've got a big ball here and I fit a 3.5 inch lag bolt through there and then there's a bunch of holes on the sides and on the face and you can use screws but I'd like to use nails I got some spiral galvanized nails to fill in to put in every one of those holes so all you got to do is pound it in place throw a few lag bolts in there and away you go so let's get rid go so you'll notice that there's these 1 by 4's are horizontal and they go right up against the post and my my offense my easy mend is gonna want to slip in right here so I got a cut notch right here and the same on this side so I'm gonna head and do that just with a just with a handsaw so then you can see how broken that post is so it must have got soft and rotten and then I just snapped so all right let's zip this and let's get this guy in so I'm having the same issue with this guy going in and fitting in between the fence panels so I think it'll fit but we're just going to wedge them over create a bit of a gap so that should be enough to get him in alright that'll work so we'll just pound them in until this parts flesh you're good to go I got my safety sandals on all right now we've got them buried well throw our flag bolt in and I've got this drill attachment for my drill I get a quarter inch chuck to a this part here so it fits on my ratchet so let's drive this in I'll give this a push and you can see much stronger again a cheap fix these are about 15 bucks and it took me about five minutes thanks for checking out the video guys don't forget to smash that thumbs up and subscribe to the channel [Music]
