all right welcome back to the channel everyone so today i'm going to be showing you how to remove and replace the whole pto shaft on the ford a10 so i have got it up on some blocks of wood here just to raise it up so some of the oil goes to the front and i did drain the rear end plug and you know what i put that oil in in the full brand new oil which should look like that stuff there but it is disgusting i guess there was a lot of gunk still in there which i didn't clean out and it kind of cleaned it up for me but i will filter that and put it back in just because it is still good and i'll change it again in the summer and the summertime but yeah i'll just show you the plug i took out which is that one there so be the rear where i cause the oil will be too high that's why i wanted to do that because once you pull this uh shaft out all the oil would come out too so it's about it was about up to there i think maybe it was up to here actually the oil level so yeah it's actually really easy it's just this these four bolts here one two three and there's one under there and it literally just slides right out and we're going to be replacing it with the one i rebuilt the original one and put the new seal in so yeah i'll go ahead and show you how to do that so uh [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so so move the old gasket new gasket i don't know how well you can see in there but that's it like it looks pretty clean there is a bit of gunk i guess but yeah that's all it is this goes right up to the front there you can see the hole at the very front goes right up there slips inside that gear and here is the old one to go back in hopefully the seal that replace doesn't leak um yeah i'm putting a new gasket on just in case just to be safe because i don't want to do this again so yeah we'll go ahead and put the pto in i'll just give it a wipe get any crap off it sometimes they're a bit tricky to actually get into that gear slot to play with them a bit wiggle them around but they do always go in just like this one's being a bit tricky there we go yeah it looks odd with that new paint on it and i don't know why but always when i've had these tractors they don't have the original bolts in the back so but these ones seem to be good enough so it's all right it's not totally lined up see look it's got studs which i'm not sure if that is original or not i don't know my gasket's kind of off let's try there looks good now yeah i'm praying now that this doesn't leak because when i did it with the hammer method and the socket i kind of screwed up the seal a little bit i do have two spare ones but uh we do think that this one isn't cut all the way through so it should seal still technically but we'll see i guess and i want to get that new one painted i didn't have chance to paint it i slapped it right in because i needed the pto on it right away so it has rested a bit but not to worry yeah and that's all it is change out the pto which is awesome make sure there's snow looks different with a painted one on there now and take that off we can see there the new seal oh i guess it's time to put that gross oil back in [Applause] well i made a mess just went everywhere so good [Music] so you know like i said i did make a mess that i put it way too fast but there my homemade little catching thing actually caught quite a bit of the sludge which is nice so yeah there's all the fluid back in except for that bit that i spilled oh yeah and also all that sludge there too which i guess we kind of cleaned out the transmission a bit then this is the one we took out so now i'm just gonna pull it off these blocks and run it a bit run the pto a bit to see if i get any leaks fingers crossed they don't just put this back on me the level should be good i guess i'll have to check it tomorrow once it's been sitting for a while so yeah i'll just pull it off these blocks now [Music] so [Music] so you
