[Music] foreign [Music] began playing guitar I always dreamed of being able to sit down and improvise on my own in this series I will be sharing with you the step-by-step process that helped me achieve that goal my Believers that understanding music theory allows you to break down complex ideas into smaller more manageable Parts in this video I will show you the first seven steps to play Alone on guitar and improvise at the end it will sound like this [Music] but now let's start very simply [Music] here is the pentatonic scale we will use today if you don't know it yet now is the time to memorize it foreign [Music] we will count from one to four one two three four Begin by playing on the fifth fret of the E string on the one something like this one two three four one two three four on Beats two three and four play notes from the pentatonic scale and improvise with them one two three four one three four one two three four one if you're not familiar with the pentatonic scale start by improvising with just two strings for example those two so we have four possible notes [Music] now do the same thing as before one two three four one two three four and so on now we go to the next string set those two one two three four one two three four and to the next ring set those two one two three four one three four one two three four one next we'll vary the Rhythm now we play eight notes count one and two and three and four and play a note on the one still the same note and on two two and three three and and four we will play our pentatonic improvisation one add two and three and four and one and two and three and four and one and so on [Music] now we try to memorize the Rhythm by speaking it and now we'll apply it [Music] up [Music] and so on in the next part of this series we will learn more variations of the Rhythm but this is enough for today now we add two chord changes we started everything starting on the fifth fret Now we move up to the 10th fret use the same pentatonic pattern as before and at the same time we can move up to the 12th fret use the same pentatonic pattern as we used before on the fifth fret so 5 10 12. then we play the following structure [Music] two three four and again we can play that in a circle foreign a note on the one we can play a chord on one we can use the following chord shape this minor seven shape and again we can move that to the 10th fret and to the 12th fret for getting used to the chain from core to solo we play Everything Roberto without a Beat imagine the chord always comes on the one but the solar efter is like an answer to it something like this we can play as many notes as we like [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] now let's try to play everything in time use the same Rhythm and structure we used earlier but play a chord on the one [Music] this is the basic concept that allows you to slowly learn to improvise even highly complex solo pieces this is part one of the series on how to play and improvise alone on the guitar subscribe to the channel and watch the next video to expand on this first steps [Music]
