so if there's one riff one guitar riff that every guitar player has to learn what would it be and why this is the question I asked all my buddies at The NAMM Show I love your stuff all right so what's the better way than to start out this video with Pete so what's the one guitar if everyone should know slow dancing in a burning room it's about to feel and about the control and about the emotion please it's a hard question uh one guitar riff that everyone should know in my opinion Beat It by Michael Jackson [Music] oh if I don't want to get this guy or don't want to get recognized yeah yeah I'm slashed yeah I played in Guns and Roses whatever I'm gonna go with Here Comes the Sun oh love that one just hearing that song is gonna make everybody happy I don't know what kind of person would not enjoy hearing that song and I mean what's the point of Music make people happy so play songs like Here Comes the Sun [Music] Paul David's video [Music] um Sweet Home Alabama you'll probably make more money playing that risk the rift [Music] I think of BB King like this [Music] it's like a route and just one note it's comonto [Music] see it works I love it here thank you so much [Music] Tool Schism it's a perfect way to practice double hammer-ons that are kind of syncopated to have a cool Rhythm it's something that if you just drill for five minutes it'll make it seem like you actually know what you're doing the Perfect riff for anything [Music] when I learned pride and joy you know the intro is Iconic the whole rhythm part Gonna Change Your Life the one guitar every guitar player should know is [Music] that one told me the blues man I played that so many times as a beginner and it definitely taught me the basics thank you [Music] I would say layla it's got a bit of Bend so you can work on your bench yeah a bit low down that's very for cancer [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm gonna go with uh Nothing Else Matters by Metallica because it's all open strings so anybody can play that one thing right it's like if somebody wants to learn how to play guitar um you could show them that anybody pretty much right and in 10 minutes you got somebody playing guitar and they're like that sounds just like the song [Music] [Music] if you're doing it properly some of the slide stuff but also some chunky chords I'd say just got paid [Music] I believe that's uh I think the camera's a bit too close to my face kind of introduced me to chromaticism I was like holy I can play notes next to each other and sounds good thick bro [Music] I think foxy lady Jimi Hendrix um this is like the sound of music and guitar and intention I feel like Jimi Hendrix has a lot of heart and makes everything sing so it's just a beautiful connection between emotions [Music] Highway to Hell by ACDC it's just classic and it's it's simple enough that you could learn it when you're first starting but it's still amazing that if you play it after years of knowing how to play the guitar it's still relevant and awesome oh yeah every guitar players black dog and how to play it correctly with the weird rhythmic thing that happens because it's a little bit of genius and it's Ultra fun to play [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] spirit [Applause] because when I was 11 years old that was the Riff and it's four it's four chords it's a power chords and when I was younger I thought if you can play that you are the best guitar player in the world probably the most important neck you ever learn is Johnny Be Good because it teaches you the black blues form and it teaches you to listen and replicate a rhythm and once you can do those two things you can start learning Clapton and Paige and all kinds of other videos [Music] it teaches you Nuance it teaches you how to play that kind of that visceral style of guitar I think it's real fun sweet thank you [Music] all right it's called For the Love of Money got to have it by the O'Jays [Music] oh as I lost in Paris Tom mesh [Music] thank you [Music] what's the one guitar riff every guitar is you know Mr Brightside by The Killers [Music] just the way the open string is incorporated it's so beautiful and it's also so iconic like you can literally play this everyone knows foreign [Music] [Music] so everyone should know how to play it one guitar riff yeah let's go Smoke on the Water really Smoke on the Water let me hear it it's the best one ever ah I can't get my pick in my hand I don't know if you hear it [Music] thank you [Music] size as well it's good for picking and it's just a classic run [Music] all right so what's the one guitar that everyone should know Stairway to Heaven because it's the one that everyone knows obviously yeah [Music] to be honest any Tommy Emmanuel song and he told me in my new song yeah it is I'm gonna say the opening Riff to Tommy emanuel's Classical Gas it's a Chet Atkins lick actually it's fast it's flashy and it's really easy to play [Music] uh Van Halen they're playing the jump video and I was like that whatever that is that's what I want to do forever [Music] this video is very good thank you for watching And subscribe to my channel definitely not mine if you don't want to see what I say this will be the end
