[Music] hey welcome back to DIY was designed by pink pink or jameelah as some know me I am going to teach you guys today how to convert an image as SVG all by yourself this one this tutorial is going to tutorial is going to be a very simple one maybe later on well I'll do one that's a little bit more advanced that shows you how to get rid of things that you don't need while you're still in Inkscape first thing you need to do is click click the link below and go download Inkscape for whatever operating system you have I already have Inkscape not going to walk you through that today we're gonna grab a Hello Kitty image I already have her but I'm gonna walk you through what or how to find an image you just find your image this is my image right click save image s and then there she is so now we're going to open Inkscape go to file open and click the image we are ready to convert now that we have our image in Inkscape you want to select it I want to select it I'll have these nice little cool arrows around it we're going to go to path trace bitmap I like to do a few scans more than the number of colors that I have so we have one two three four colors so I'm going to leave it at eight select colors keep all of that and stacks can smooth remove background I can't remember if this one had a background or not and then click on update click OK close out of that move the bitmap copy delete the background copy so now we have our hello kitty image left what we're going to do now is we're going to save it so that we can upload it into design space so you can click on file again save as SVG has already selected I'm going to leave the file name the same click Save super simple now we're going to go back over here to the Internet Explorer or Chrome whatever you're using I'm going to click on new project to get that SVG in here you're going to go to upload upload image browse and wherever you saved your image is where the SVG is going to be and typically it's right next to the original file so here's our original file if you can see my arrow highlighting that this is the one we want we're going to double click it and we have everything there click Save click on the image you want to insert and insert it into your project and as you can see it converted quite nicely as you can see from our image that each layer is going to cut completely I'm not going to get into today how to use the contouring and slicing and welding to get it to only cut those spots but when we go to make it it shows us each color that we have I hope that this video helps you understand how to convert an image to SVG have any questions leave a comment below like I said I'm going to link ink skate I'm going to link my group and also my youtube channel however most of what you find on youtube you'll also find here on my blog thank you for watching
