How To Make an ANIMATION PLAY ON A KEYBIND | Roblox Studio Guide

hello guys welcome back to a new Roblox Studio tutorial in today's video I'm going to be teaching youall basically how to make an animation play on a character uh whenever they press a keybind uh this this keybind will be able to be changed to e q anything on the keyboard so yeah let's get started so the first thing that we need to do is go into the top bar here click on view and make sure that the explore and properties are now enabled once that's done we can go into the starter player hit the arrow next to it go to starter player scripts and insert a local script you can name this whatever you want it does not matter so we're going to remove this print hello world thing we are not going to be needing that you can then go down to the description and copy the code that is down there once that is copied and pasted from the description all you need to look at is this number this letter here sorry this says e on uh default but you can basically make this Q this is going to be the um basically what the uh what the player presses whenever they want the animation to play so for this tutorial we're going to keep it as e once you've changed the keybind you can actually close out of it and then back in the explore tab you can hit the plus next to the local script and insert an animation when you click on the animation the only thing that you need to change is in the property section the animation ID I'm going to show you what to change that to so I made this uh not too long ago but it's basically just a punch animation I'm going to go to the top here and only copy these sections of numbers right here once that is done you can go back into roadblox Studio go to the animation and then in the property section you can go to the animation ID uh click on it and then hit I mean you can just paste it in there and you can enter and then as you see it does RBX asset ID and then it puts in your numbers there so that's basically all you need to do we're going to hit play here and we're going to test it out so we set it to e so whenever we press e it plays the punch animation that's going to wrap it up for this video if y'all have any questions ask them in the comments down below and uh I made a Discord so if you guys would like to join it go ahead and feel free to join um like And subscribe for more videos like this and let me know what I should post whether it be scripting videos game building videos anything yep that's it I'll see you guys later and have a good day bye
