hey everyone so today I'm going to make a bird feeder using these items from thrift stores I found this really pretty green colored glass I don't know if it's vintage or not but um it was a a set it had um two each of these and I thought that would be nice for a bird feeder I've been wanting to use this glass for a long time so I finally decided what to use it for has these pretty colors on here um when I was washing it the color started to come off a little bit so I taped it up and sprayed a clear coat on top of this to make sure the colors don't fade outside um got these little candle holders and here's a candle holder I'm going to use marbles um JB Weld clear epoxy see works good for the bird feeders and here's a hook for the top all right so I'm going to get started okay so the first thing I'm going to glue together this is going to be the bottom where the seeds go and I'm actually going to just for decoration I'm going to glue these two together like this and I'm going to glue it to the bottom of that to be a little Whimsical all [Applause] right okay that should be [Music] enough all right okay so the next thing I'm going to glue is this um plate here is going to be the roof I'm going to put it on top of the glass at the end so right now I'm going to glue this candle holder onto the top and then the hook is going to be on the top like that and I'm actually going to put some marbles inside here to give it some extra color inside this is actually um lead crystal so it's a little bit heavy and it's nice and strong for the top all right [Music] green marble see how that looks so I'm going to actually glue it upside down like that I'm just going to put a little bit around the edge because I don't want it to drip inside yeah I'm going to flip it over like that all right go ahead and put some around the edges here just to seal it in okay so I'm going to let these dry overnight this is what I have glued together so far that the bottom so tomorrow I'll put the hook on the top and uh put the rest of this together okay so I let these dry overnight so this is nice and strong the epoxy and the marbles look really pretty in there I'm going to do the same for this glass I'm going to put red marbles inside of here to give it more color and it'll look like there's wine in there so I've got red marbl and I'm going to glue it to the roof which this is going to go on here but I'm actually going to glue it upside down so I'm going to flip this over well yeah that over and I'll put marbles in [Music] here okay so I'm going to put epoxy just around the edge of this glass and then I'm actually going to flip it over and add a little bit more around the edge put this on here okay I'm going to flip it over I'm going to put some more around the edge here make sure it holds so I just want to show you that this is totally sealed in with epoxy so when that dries it'll hold it really well and then I'll flip it over and I'll put the hook on the top and of course add the little base here where the seeds go I'll add that and it'll be finished okay this is dry enough to where I can flip it over like that okay I flip this over I'm going to put the hook in the top here I'll show you how I do that so first I make a little ball of clay I'm using um sculpy oven baked clay or already use putty okay so I roll the clay into a ball like this and I put it in here and then I put the screw into the top and that holds it in place until the epoxy dries when I put the epoxy in here put all the way in like [Music] that okay so I filled this to the top with epoxy that'll be nice and strong when it dries and I'm going to go get a box or something to glue these two pieces together because it's not going to be real steady it has a very thin stem so I need something to prop it up while it dries so somebody use a bucket I put this in the bottom and then I'll put epoxy into there and um glue this into the bottom of the bowl okay so I filled this with epoxy around the bottom so let that dry okay I let this dry overnight so I'm going to take a look at it and see what it looks like before I put it outside there we go that's really pretty so I'm going to go hang it out in the sunlight and uh see what that looks like so here it is outside I have it hanging on a shepherd's hook it looks really pretty in the sunshine with the marbles reflecting in the Sun at that yeah I really like this one love the colors well thanks for watching and I'll see you next time bye-bye
