thank you hi everyone I wanted to show you this bird bath I made from thrift store glass so I found this decorative plate it was called black Jasmine so I thought I'd go with a Black and White theme so I put a clear pie plate on top of it and then I used a white bowl and some bases that were gray and black and use these decorative gems and more vases so I'm going to show you how I made this okay so I'm gonna make a bird bath today using these items that I bought at thrift stores and Goodwill we've got some vases kind of black and gray color theme going on here I'm going to use this clear pie plate which I'm going to put on top of this plate here I love this pretty pattern it says this boat archive collection Regency series Jasmine so I'm going to call this bird bath black Jasmine and then this plate is going to be the base I'm going to flip it over and start gluing on top of there I got a little bowl some little candle stands and I'm gonna use these gems at the end for decoration I usually use E6000 glue but there's a gorilla glue that's just like E6000 so I'm going to use that today so the first thing I'm going to do is drill holes in the bottom of this plate because when I glue this pie plate on top of here and it's sealed in it can get condensation between the two plates so I usually will drill holes in the bottom of the plate so it can drain out so that's what I'm gonna do right now so these are the drill bits that I use they're used for cutting glass and ceramic so that's what I use a wash all right so first thing I'm going to do is spray a little water on here we're supposed to use water with um cutting glass okay so that took about maybe five or six minutes to cut that one hole so I think I'm gonna cut one more maybe try a smaller bit and see if that makes a difference yeah so the smaller bit took about half the time it was a little easier to cut through the smaller bit so I think that's all I need for holes so there's two of them so the first thing I'm going to go together is I'm going to glue this pie plate on top of this plate here like that and then I'm going to go ahead and get my level to make sure this plate is level on top of here I'll do that next okay next I'm gonna glue this on top of here like that and then the plate is going to sit on top of here when that's dry so I forgot to put this vase in the picture in the beginning I meant to add that with everything else but um this is going to be the bottom flip the plate over and the base I'm just gonna look like that so I'm gonna glue that onto there all right okay so these little candle stands are good for um a little stand in between the vases I'm going to put that one on here then this one will go here and then I'll put this one on top of that but for now I'm just going to glue these little plates onto the vases and then let it dry overnight okay and I'm gonna glue this one off okay so that's what I've done for today I'm gonna let that dry overnight and um I'll put the rest together tomorrow after I've let it dry for about 24 hours okay it's been 24 hours so everything's dry and one thing I didn't think of because I put these drainage holes in here um but I was gonna glue this on top of here like that and it's going to go into the bowl I don't know why I didn't think of that so what I'm going to do is I'm going to put spacers between the plate and the bowl so that any moisture that gets in there it can dry out so I'm gonna go ahead and do that right now I'll just glue all these on here see if that works there that'll be a space between that bowl and the plate so anything that gets in there can dry out all right double check yeah so when those are dry I'll glue this bowl onto here tomorrow that should work okay so now I'm gonna glue this onto here that it's got a nice flat bottom so I don't need to put a plate between it okay I'm gonna go ahead and glue this face on top of here too let that dry overnight but I noticed there were there's three little bumps here because that's the candle stand and this kind of sits on top of those bumps and there's a space so I'm going to put some clay in between those two to hold it hold it in place I found this Sculpey oven baked clay at Walmart and I'm going to try that I've usually used putty in the past but I'm gonna try this and see how it works yeah that'll work all right so I'll put glue underneath it hopefully this will work see questions okay it's been 24 hours and now I'm going to glue this onto here like this and then I'll let that dry overnight okay that should be enough okay so I let this dry overnight and I think I'm going to use epoxy to put this on top of here because it's such a small area to hold all of this weight so I'm going to use JB Wells clear epoxy so it'll dry a little faster and hold nice and tight so I'm gonna do that first okay so epoxy is real easy to use just twist the cap off pour as much as you need into a cup I don't need that much so I'll just do a bit more than that that much mix it up it dries really fast so I'm gonna use it pretty quick base here on top and that should set in about five minutes and of course I have to let it dry longer but um it sets pretty quick so I'll let that dry and then I'll come back and add some more decoration okay so now I decided to put some gems around the edges here because I think it'll give it a little extra decoration I'm going to glue these on here I'll make it look really pretty using my Gorilla Glue which is like E6000 . okay so I've got all the black ones on here and now I'm going to put some of these clear ones on this one here on the bottom here okay so I've got all the clear gems on here and the black ones are here I think that really makes it pop gives it a little extra texture and color all right so I'll just let that dry and then I'll go put it on my garden and here it is finished it looks so pretty in my garden
