[Music] so [Music] in this video we're gonna go over the different kinds of lacing you could get just with a couple different heat gun nozzles and hand positioning there is a wide variety of lacing techniques you can do and i would encourage you to experiment on your own because there's so much more than just this i will have the materials that i'm using for this video linked below in my description i will be using armor art white pigment for my lacing today i highly recommend using this pigment as it's very simple to use i will also be using moss epoxy tabletop resin here i am prepping my resin making sure that both parts are thoroughly mixed [Music] next i lay down my wave design since this epoxy is 30 minutes i will wait 15 minutes before i apply my [Music] white when adding color to your resin please keep it under six percent tint or pigment to resin ratio of course the amount of pigment you add to your resin will affect the translucency of your resin if you want it to be more translucent add less pigment if you want it to be more opaque then add more my first wave is my striped wave you will lay down a small thin line and with your heat gun and the small nozzle you will start at a distance and then push towards your wave and out again it takes a little bit of time it's a little trickier of a wave but once you start seeing those lines form you will know you've got the right technique and you can flow that all the way over to the other side our next wave is just my basic wave i like to start at my lowest wave in the center and just blow it out and move to the sides it's more freestyle i always have my heat gun at that horizontal angle that helps it skim the surface instead of pushing your white pigment into your clear this third technique is my double wave you'll still want your heat gun at that horizontal angle and start from a distance and push in you will ignore the fact that you're pushing all your pigment away from that front line so don't worry about pigment not being [Music] there [Music] do after you do that you're going to go back with your white pigment and do your line again and then gently blow it from one side to the other [Music] for this wave i'm actually going to be switching out my nozzle to the bigger nozzle i will lay down a little white line i like them smaller it gives me a lot more detail and then with this nozzle because it's bigger it won't blow out as much air so you need it a lot closer to your wave it's good for this one to heat up your resin first just to allow your pigment to move easier [Music] do [Music] [Music] do i also tilt my board to make it go further to the back and stretch it out for this wave we're going to use the large nozzle again and create a subtle wave these waves are very deceptive because they look simple but it's very easy to overwork them so you're going to take your large nozzle heat up your resin to make it move easier since it's a larger nozzle with less flow and just gently push out the resin barely it will stretch as it cures so you just barely want to blow it into the resin for our last wave we're going to do the big frothy waves they're perfect for those statement pieces and large tables we're going to pour a very thick line and you need that thick line so the pigment can move all the way up your board you can even add a couple more lines if you want a different look or a different style i'm going to use a smaller one since it has more air pushing out and you just go crazy pushing out all the way to the top this style gives you that big frothy crashing wave very large cells and a very heavy front crest of the wave the number one tip to wave making is not to overwork the wave your resin will do it on its own and it's really easy to get carried away when you're trying to make those cells happen immediately so please make sure that you blow out your wave you torch it and you leave it and we'll show you why here are my waves after leaving it for just five minutes and you can see the changes that are happening as the resin levels after 24 hours i applied my second wave using the same technique as the wave below it on each board just to show you guys what these waves look like with pigment underneath them [Music] thank you guys so much for watching this video i hope to see you next time
