[Music] everyone hope you guys are doing good welcome back to another tech troubleshooting video on Atrius YT Channel if you have been experiencing the annoying problem when connecting your USB devices like your mouse or pen drive constantly disconnecting on your Windows 10 or 11 computer or laptop you are in the right place today I will walk through some steps to help resolve these frustrating issues so let's Jump Right In let's start by adjusting power management settings head over to the device manager by right clicking on the start menu and selecting device manager look for Universal serial bus controller double click to expand it through and then go underneath all of the USB devices in here right click on them and select properties select the power management Tab and uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power hit okay to apply the changes you would go down the list in for all the USB devices you need to go ahead and make sure that they all are turned off by doing the same processes and then close the next thing we are going to do is close out of here the next method we will do is by checking and updating the device drivers head over to the device manager by right clicking on the start menu and selecting device manager look for your USB devices right click and choose update driver allow Windows to search automatically for the latest drivers and install them if the issue is not resolved go through the third method by disabling USB selective suspend start by searching for control panel in the search man menu open the control panel switch to category View and select hardware and sound click on power options then go to change plan settings for the active plan next click on change Advanced power settings in the advanced power setting window navigate to USB settings expand USB selective suspend settings and set it to disabled for both on battery and pluged in options click apply and okay to save the changes if you ever need to go back to the original settings you can restore the default settings for the current power plan and at last make sure your Windows system is up to date go to settings click on Windows update and check for updates install any pending updates as they may contain fixes for USB related issues sometimes it is as simple as using a different USB port plug your devices into different ports to see if the issue is still persist if you are using a USB hub try connecting directly to the computer to rule out issues with the Hub after making these adjustments it is important to test your USB devices see if the problem persist if it does there might be a hardware issue with either the USB devices or the USB ports test the devices on another computer to rule out the device related problems and there you have it a few troubleshooting steps to help you fix those frustrating USB device disconnecting issues on Windows system if you found this video helpful give it a thumbs up and let me know in the comments if you have other Tech related topics you would like me to cover don't forget to subscribe for more Tech tips until next time happy computing
