foreign [Music] how to fix the app you are trying to install isn't a Microsoft verified app on Windows 11. if you've just attempted to install a program or app that isn't in the Microsoft store you might be greeted with an error message for example I'm currently on my desktop and as you can see I have a program called filezilla that I want to install if I double click on it to start the installation process you can see that I am immediately greeted with a small window from Microsoft which says the app you are trying to install isn't a Microsoft verified app installing apps from the store helps to protect your PC and keep it running smoothly you have the option to get apps from the store or change my app recommendation settings this tells us that there is an app setting preventing us from installing apps from outside the Microsoft store to adjust this setting and allow apps to be installed from anywhere the first thing you need to do is close out of this window next navigate to the taskbar to your windows star icon for me it's at the bottom left hand corner once done right click on it look for where it says settings and left click on settings once you're in your system settings click on apps on the left hand side here once in your app settings look for where it says Advanced app settings choose where to get apps archive apps uninstall updates click on Advanced app settings once you're in your Advanced app settings at the very top you can see it says choose where to get apps as you can see the current setting is the Microsoft store only which is recommended by Windows this setting is what is preventing us from installing external apps and programs to change this simply click on this Arrow you'll then be greeted with four options the first option is anywhere and the one underneath is anywhere but let me know if there's a comparable app in the Microsoft store anywhere but warn me before installing an app that's not from the Microsoft store and finally the Microsoft store only which is recommended by Windows which is our current setting for where to get apps the setting that we need to change it to is anywhere so simply left click on anywhere once done guys you can close out of your Advanced app settings once you've done that find the app or program installer for me it's on my desktop and it's called filezilla once you've located it double click on it to start the installation process and as you can see this time around we're not greeted with the window from Windows which says the app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft verified app in fact this time we're greeted with the user account control which says do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device you have the option to press no or yes I'm going to go with yes guys as I want to proceed with the installation process and as you can see the filezilla installer window opens allowing me to go through the installation process and that pretty much concludes the video on how to fix the app you are trying to install isn't a Microsoft verified app on Windows 11. if you enjoyed this video be sure to give it a like comment down below and most importantly of all subscribe to support the channel I'll see you on the next video is [Music] [Music]
