How To Fix Sagging Gutters

today on home study we're fixing gutters because my wife wanted me to another one of the honey do list episodes this episode home study was brought to you by grow journey the organic seed subscription service get organic seeds delivered to your door every month and buy power plucker or nutrition at my core nutrition men NW supply diamond and by the home-study pioneers are watching the extended version of this video commercial free today we're fixing some gutters on the farmhouse these gutters in the back of the house and I got a few more on the front the pins have come out these big giant nails and they're sagging and water's dumping all over the place so I'm going to clean the gutters out I'm going to drill holes and repin them with these big old nails we'll be good to go I'll show you how obviously you're working can we clean out these gutters that is like some beautiful compost right there so save that and throw that right in the compost pile and this is nice our gutters in the back of the farmhouse are pretty low so I can show you on this gutter after I'm done with this I got to go around the front and oh thanks bud I got to go around the front do a higher one not that much higher but I'm a wimp on Heights so this gutters missing a couple of these nails hold on something and I'm gonna look and see if they've fallen out if not I'm gonna have to go pick up some later but we'll show you on this one here how to drill and repin your nails so all I'm going to do I'm going to find the spot where I'm missing a nail I'm gonna drill a hole just to the side of it big enough for the for this big spike to go through but not so big that that head on the nail doesn't catch you can see this one here it catches and then we'll be good to go got a little dead man there that's just gonna hold this up while I work so I'm going to take my quarter inch bit that'll be big enough to let the nail through but not the head you never do this a lot give me that nail so I got my little helper with me on the roof say hi buddy you got a crash down a little he's handing me my nail here the way this works can you hold my drill son hold on gonna hold the drill so the way this works is you punch through the hole then you take your little shaft there and you run it through the shaft is structural strength and then you punch it through the other side all right so you can see we've got that pin now we're going to go to the other side of the house it's a lot steeper and it's a lot higher it's not that bad but like I said I'm a wish Heights and we're going to get that side done but that's the simple principle that's how you have fix your gutters or if some of those stakes have come out I'm missing a couple of these big old stakes and those little metal shafts so I got to go down to the hardware store and buy more of those so I'm not gonna be able to finish this right now but now you can see it's it's that simple that's how you fix the gutter all right to the other side you know that if you click that banner and write down they'll take you over to grow germs where you can sign up for a free month of your seed subscription service get organic seeds deliver to your mailbox for free go ahead put the banner get your seeds start growing right dump the gutters that's a big sum my honey-do list is disappearo we never get me over that spot without don't forget to subscribe homesteading pioneers get the extended version of our videos commercial free in all our members only podcasts head on over to this is homestead e.com and become a pioneer or just click on the banner
