hey everyone welcome back to my channel thanks for joining me today for those of you who are new here on this channel we share helpful tutorials and how-to guides in today's video I'll be showing you how to fix Discord overlay not working and if you want to know how to fix it just keep on watching so first of all what you need to do is to open your Discord application then go to your user settings by clicking the user settings button at the lower left side of your screen and once you've done that what you need to do is to scroll down and find the game overlay okay and you need to make sure that you toggle the switch on to enable in-game overlay okay and also go to registered game and you need to make sure that you add the game that you want to play okay so for example Roblox all right just go ahead and click on obs or just go ahead and find if we can add Roblox okay but typically that is how you need to do it okay so add the game right here so select the options like that okay and that is the first method that you can do to fix this problem also if the issue persists what you need to do is to go here on voice and video section then scroll down and you need to make sure that you toggle the switch for Hardware acceleration okay so Hardware acceleration uses your GPU for efficient video encoding and decoding if available okay so just go ahead and turn on this switch and now if the issue persists what you can also do is to go to your settings or let's just go ahead and search for control panel right here now once you're on the control panel what you need to do is to go to system and security then here in the Windows Defender Firewall what you need to do is to click on allow an app through Windows firewall then here you need to scroll down until you see this chord okay so here as you can see that my Discord is now allowed or you can just go ahead and if it is unchecked just go ahead and check it okay and if you don't see the Discord right here what you need to do is to click on the change settings right here then now click on allow another up button click on browse and find the Discord okay so let's just go ahead and find this chord so go to this PC the local disk C then go to users then you are computer's name and just go ahead and find for this chord Okay so let's try on searching for it Okay so just go ahead and find the Discord application on your device and once you find found it what you need to do is to double click on it and you should see it right here then click on the add button and that should add D this chord on this section okay so once you've done that just go ahead and click on OK and once you've done all of those steps you should be able to fix this chord overlay not working and I hope this video helped you and if it did make sure to like subscribe and hit the Bell notifications you won't miss a video see you in the next one and have a great day
