hello everyone today I'm going to be showing you how to export a model that you've made within Maya and import it into Unreal Engine 5. now I've got this arcade machine that our students made here but as you can see from the outliner all the components are separate so we've got the guns on the right so if I was to move that it'd be separated we've also got the guns left and the legs now we want to import this as one mesh so to do that if we just select it all in the outliner come to mesh at the top and this will only be available under the modeling tab here mesh and then press on combine now we'll combine every piece of the mesh as one group so if we move it it'll all move together now if we select this in the outliner press on file export selection and then make sure we select fbx export from the file type and then name it so I'm going to name it arcade machine and then save it somewhere where you remember where to find it so desktop for me then we'll come into Unreal Engine click on this import button at the bottom left and then we will select it open it under this import options we can just press import all and then our mesh will now be inside unreal so if we drag and drop it here it is now if you want to change your material of the mesh we can double click it and we can come to the material slots on the left and from the drop down box we can assign a new material and then click save
