How to drive stick shift for beginners (EXPERT TUTORIAL WITH RACE MODE)

[Music] howdy partners welcome back we're in the debt side in the 1979 f250 here which is a stick shift and if you're not familiar with a stick shift you have the three pushing thingies here too many pedals so if you're under nine it can be difficult to learn how to drive on the highway you know your dad gives you the keys you turn seven or eight your dad gives you the keys you get your CDL your country boy driver's license it's time to go out into the big world and drive your truck but it's a stick shift and you don't know how so you can't pick up your girlfriend so I'm gonna teach you how this is another tutorial but it's not boring because learning is fun so then you have the other the one Wiggly thingy and then the other wiggly piece so we're gonna talk about what those do to and what all these controls do so right here one two three four eight and are for race mode now the left pedal is your clutch which separates your engine from your transmission the middle pedal is your brake helps you stop the right pedal is your accelerator you do not need the left two pedals the right pedal is all you need that's all people in semis need and that controls what's all going on here so what we're gonna do start it up here alright you may notice we don't have a windshield here and that is true so one common misconception is they you need to start in the lowest gear first here for example and that's completely false they give you this for read the big boy pedal you don't want to put that in the highest gear possible which in this case is is like 13 so you're gonna ramp it up pretty high like that's like you know 17 thousand rpms is just about right and then you're gonna want to dump that clutch as fast as possible now rev it up and this is your first step to learning how to drive a stick-shift your first lesson right here [Music] let the clutch out nice and slow slow little faster give me a second here I'm not I think I am I knew this too long here but okay now women now we're just gonna pull this out without using the clutch [Music] okay that doesn't work right something wrong like it really I wasn't making that noise I don't know what's this do nothing Oh subscride in in there all right so we're just gonna wrap it up oh hold up what's going on I thought for sure oh I was I wasn't moving the steak fast enough in between gears so there's a proper relation when you're ranging through the gears you know you're shifting through them nice and neat you need to be able to feel kind of where it's at you know you can feel if you just real gentle with it you can kind of tell us little startup thought you said you know how to do this I do I'm just I'm not not moving it right your last option here if all else fails is to get aggressive with it so that's what we're gonna do now I am starting to notice that my transmissions acting a little weird well that's totally normal because it's getting warmed up this is your four wheel drive in your neutral so we're gonna visit lawn chair oh I'm sorry your your let us speak here is to learn race mode we're gonna gently go from fourth-year to race poker [Music] [Applause] [Music] there we go now we're going back to fourth [Music] I'm straight up lying you guys this is not how you driving [Laughter] okay we need to work on that the shifting part how do you shift anyways if you guys can comment down in the comments how to drive a stick shift cuz alright let's try again this transmission is doing surprisingly well [Music] [Laughter] Legolas or here I'm not I'm not moving the stick right there's something wrong with this part that I'm not doing right I'm gonna pull down as hard as I can I want you to reach reach out and help me pull down turn [Music] there we got where we go yes guys ever heard of neutral TV done man [Music] [Applause] stuntman into YouTube channel they just do need to drop stuff you need to have them out here let's go stunt man says neutral drops [Music] [Music] it's something wrong with it hey what's fresher what's the trance fluid well guys unfortunately our shifter stick is toast transmission case is probably fried but if you if you don't know how to stick shift I probably wouldn't recommend watching this don't actually know how to myself much but I'm still trying everybody else at me because I ride the gears sometimes I'll get a hang of it but uh thanks for watching this is part one of a two-part series the next part is where everything under there goes freakin kaboom so that's what we're gonna do now so thanks for watching and I'll see you in five seconds on the next video
