hey there and welcome to the club today i'll be showing you how to draw zayn from ninjago so let's start with the eyes and start with the left side we draw a circle from here we're going to draw a small circle tucked in the top and here for the highlight and we'll color the bottom half in black let's go to the right side and draw the same thing we'll leave a little gap in the middle here so starting at the top circle around i'm going to draw that highlight circle at the top edge and we'll color the bottom half in black now let's go ahead and draw on some eyebrows so just on top of the left eye we're going to draw an angle line coming in so it kind of overlaps in the middle here we're just going to angle the inside in on the end we're going to do an angle line and then come down so it tapers down to a point it's colored the eyebrow in black move over to the right side and do the exact same thing so starting on the inside this time we're going to angle up draw a little angle in the middle on the end we're just going to cap it off and then just draw an angled line towards the center let's go ahead and color that in black from here we're going to draw in the top edge of the mask so we're going to start on the left side we draw a curve going up towards the middle rounding out underneath the eyes so starting on the left here we're going to curve up towards the eyes down and then over towards the right so it's got a little bit of a wave from here we're going to go up the sides of the head so on the side here you can draw a straight line and leaving a little overlap on this edge of the mask on both sides going up i'm just going to pull that line out just a little bit we're going to draw the top edge of the hairline so on the end here we're going to curve up and in on the right we'll do the same thing we're going to come down towards the widow's peak in the middle so a little point in the middle just between the eyebrows will draw a point take the left side curving in towards that point and we'll curve out towards the right as well let's go ahead and draw the bottom edge of the mask so from the left side we're just going to curve in on the right we'll do the same thing just for a little bit of wrinkle detail in the center here i'm just going to draw a little wrinkle in the cloth going across we're going to step in here do a little overlap and curve down and inwards and then we're going to do another overlap and draw the edge of the mask on the bottom here so i'm just going to curve down and tuck that in on the right side if you like if you draw another wrinkle along the bottom here let's go ahead and draw the hair so he's got this big flat top so we start with the sideburns first so on the side here we're just going to step up from the mask just draw an angled line going up from here we're going to curve out the sides of the hair so this is going to go up just kind of curve out towards the left just a little bit curving out towards the right a little we're going to connect those two points with the curve for the top starting on the left side i'm going to curve the top of the hair and over to the right side just close that gap off there we draw a little bit of hair indication lines along the top starting on the left side we're just going to pull a series of short little lines we're gonna space these out so they don't have to be equally spaced apart draw one you can draw two beside each other and then from the hairline we're gonna go in the opposite direction going up starting from the middle i'm just gonna curve these lines going up and out towards the right and then on the left side we'll curve up and out towards the left just a few along the side there okay so we got the head let's get into the shoulder pad so he's got these three tiered shoulder armor pads along the tops on the left and right so let's start with the left side first so right about here about the mid way down the mask we start with the line going across the left and as we'll go across the right as well just to balance this out we're going to curve up the edge of the shoulder armor so from here i'm going to curve up and i'm going to curve down and in towards the mask and just tuck that in on the right side we'll do the same thing so curving up and out and curving in towards that point let's draw the second tier so from that same point we're just going to extend the line just a little bit on both sides we're going to draw a smaller version of this underneath here so we take this point curving up and we'll tuck that in underneath that first on the right we'll do the same thing so curving up and then tucking that in for the third one this one actually gets tucked in underneath here so we're gonna start somewhere around this first here draw an angled line we're gonna go straight across so it extends beyond that tier there and then we'll curve up and curve and tuck that in do the same thing on the right side so looking at that space in between here we'll angle down we'll go across we're going to curve up the side and then we'll just curve and tuck that in underneath let's get into the body so i'm going to have him standing with two arms stretched out holding his double streaking so just on this on these corners here i'm going to curve the side of his body so starting up here we're going to move up curving over towards the left we're going to do the same thing on the right side but we're not going to go as steep we're going to start up here and curving almost vertically almost straight down so it kind of comes this way we connect those two points with a slight curve coming down in the middle back up on the right side let's block out the rest of the body so we're going to draw the hips first stepping in from the left side we're going to draw an angle line from the right we'll step in draw an angle line we'll connect those two points with that same curve so we're just going to follow that curve across like that let's draw some detail in the upper body so up here we're just going to start on the side of the body here and curve up and tuck that in underneath that shoulder armor we're drawing the belt so in here we're going to start with a circle just touching the bottom back up to the top we're going to trim this out draw a little smaller circle inside and we can draw that little symbol inside here so we're going to start with a short line in the middle and move over to the left side draw a little short line go across and then a really short line in the side here and a little hash mark on the side like that kind of looks like that so from here we're going to draw the sides of the belt strap so halfway down the circle on the right side we're going to curve up and just to the side of the body there on the left we'll do the same thing and then in here we can draw a few little wrinkle lines just pulling a couple little wrinkles across like that on the sides here these got these little clips draw a half circle with a smaller circle inside on the right side we'll do the same thing so a half circle draw a little circle inside and we want to tuck in a triangle underneath here so on the top do a short line going up on the bottom we're going down we're going to come in towards the center so right across here we'll draw a point we'll take that top line just draw a straight line into that point same with the bottom let's go to the right side and do the same thing so two short lines from top and bottom he's going to come across to the middle just draw a straight line right to that middle point like that let's go ahead and draw some straps let's see these body straps that go across so start up here and curve down into the belt we'll go to the bottom side of this shoulder area and just draw another curve coming down so you can see it kind of gets a little bit thinner as we come out towards the left side i'm gonna go up to the top and this is gonna get tucked in underneath so starting up here i'm gonna curve underneath that strap and down on the right side we'll go to the bottom here curve underneath that strap and then down the right side so you can see that they both taper across the chest now let's draw a little detail underneath the straps right here we're gonna go across and go up in an angle we trim that out so we're gonna draw that twice one on the inside we'll do the same thing on the right side so coming down an angle straight across we're gonna trim that out if you like you can add a little bit of texture on the inside so up here in this little space here we're just going to draw a series of angled lines evenly spaced out and then we're going to go in the opposite direction just over on top let's go to the right side and do the same thing so angle line going in one direction and then angle lines going in the opposite direction just like that just adds a little bit of textured detail let's get into the legs so in the middle here i'm going to draw the little center piece so in the center we're going to move over to the left and just draw an angled line going down to the left move over to the right and draw that same length line we'll connect those two points with a straight line across the bottom now for the legs i'm going to draw one leg sort of stretched out this way and one leg bent a little more on the right side so we're going to start with the left side starting from this corner we're going to curve the hip barrel going across like that we start on this hip and we'll draw that same exact curve on the left side let's connect those two points with a straight line just going across now we're going to draw the face side of the leg first before we get into the inside so from this point we're going to curve down towards the ankle from this point we're going to do that same curve coming down towards the ankle making sure it's evenly spaced out all the way across from these two points we're just going to connect it with a straight line now we're going to get into the top of the foot so from this point we're going to angle down towards the left from this point we'll do that same length line connect those two points with a straight line across now from these two points we're going to get down to the front of the foot so from the left side here we're going to go straight down on the inside we'll go straight down so we're adding a little bit of perspective to the leg let's connect those two points with a straight line going across now we're getting into the inside part of the leg so from here we're going to draw a straight angle line going back and from here we just want to connect with that point in the lower torso with the curve it goes all the way up like that okay so we got the one leg let's draw the one on the right so we're going to start with a head barrel again so starting here i'm going to curve from this point we'll curve and we're going to draw a straight line to connect those two points now let's bend this leg a little bit more than we did on the left side so we're going to take this point just draw a really curvy line like that from this point we draw that same curve all the way across now we're going to connect those two points with a straight line let's draw the top of the foot from this point we're going to angle out from this back point we'll angle out now we want to make sure that the top of the foot is roughly the same length okay so this line here and this line there connect those two points with a straight line take these corners this one here pull a straight line down on the outside we'll pull it straight down and we'll connect those two points with an angle line let's draw the bottom inside edge of the foot so from this point we're going to go back following that same angle of the top of the foot along the bottom here so coming across like that from this point we're going to curve in towards the center of the lower torso so curving down in towards the heel okay so we got the legs let's get into the arms so again i'm going to have the two arms stretched out this way holding the double shriek in so we're going to start with the arm on the left first start with the top of the arm right here so underneath this tier the shoulder we're going to curve out we're going to draw the inside edge of the arm so the wrist area so from here i'm going to curve the width of the arm from here i'm going to curve this back in underneath the body from here i'm going to have to overlap a few things so the hand the wrist and the arm get overlapped on top of each other so right here i have a hand coming out this direction so we're going to start with a straight angled line like that now these are very simple hands going to be drawing so from this point to that point i'll connect it with a half circle so this is the inside edge of the hand from here i want to draw a half circle going the opposite direction this is for the wrist joint like that from this point here i'm going to curve and tuck that in underneath the wrist from the bottom and we'll do the same thing in the opposite direction let's go ahead and draw in the shriek shuriken so for simple design we're going to draw one two three almost like a triangle these three little handles that come across so starting up here and draw two short lines coming up from behind the hand connect that with a curve we'll go to the bottom side and do the same thing so two short lines and we'll curve that across now i want to draw sort of a triangle formation in the shrieking so from here from this corner and curve across from this point i want to go out in an angle on the top i'll go out in an angle and i'll curve and connect that in the middle let's take those two corners and we'll connect it with a straight line take that corner here curve and round out same on the bottom connect those two points with a straight line now in between each of these handles i'm going to draw sort of a half circle to connect them so halfway along this line and curve across do the same for the top and on the bottom right and i'm going to add little spikes on top so on these curves all i want to do is take this end go up in an angle and then taper that back in now we're going to follow this pattern so everything is going to be pointing in the opposite direction so from here let me go out at an angle i'm just going to tuck that in behind there from here i'll go out this way towards the body and connect it in okay so that's a very simple shuriken design let's do the exact same thing on the right side starting with the top of the arm first so right up here i'm going to curve towards the wrist from this point curve the inside edge of the arm again so the same thickness from here i'm going to curve this underneath the body like that so the next thing we're going to do is draw in the back edge of the hand so right here we'll draw a straight line connect those two points with a half circle for the hand and then we draw that smaller half circle in the opposite direction for the wrist we'll take the top curve that and tuck that in the bottom will tuck in as well now we're going to go ahead and draw in the three-sided tricking so from the top we'll draw two short lines coming up connect it with a curve the bottom connect it with a curve now we're going to draw the first side here so from this point i'm going to angle down and out we'll round out the ends and we'll connect it with a straight line and now from these two corners here i'm going to go straight across to connect it draw the curves and then a straight line along the bottom in between we're going to draw the little half circle so up here draw a little circle to connect the three handles and then now we're going to just finish off with the spike so up here go out to a point pull that back in the bottom we're going to go out this way and then this one here i'm going to draw in this angle towards the body and pull that back in and that's pretty much it there we have it there's zayn from ninjago i hope you enjoyed this lesson thanks for watching and we'll see you again soon
