hey everybody so i thought i'd start this video off uh at the very beginning uh where you actually upload the artwork to uh be digitized whether whether it's a business logo a name or in this case i got some uh like clip art type drawings i've purchased uh to use commercially so i'm gonna pick my file and i think this time we're gonna do a bear so where is it at okay found the bear now you gotta do is click on it and we're gonna go down to open click on that and there you have it now we've got to bring this down to size uh normally i like to do a 5x7 size but this seems to fit perfectly in a 4x4 just because it's like a square photo i guess and we're just going to make sure that we get it down there we want to make sure that there's clearance just because some of these hoops are actually smaller than four inches not four inches on the dot so it looks like we're down there now uh we're gonna start with the applique stitches so we're gonna go here to the left go down to applique and uh that's gonna go all the way around the bear we're not gonna worry about the satin stitches though so i'm gonna go ahead i'm gonna take those off and we'll switch it to single run just because i don't like the box stitches i i don't know if there's a reason to have them i don't know if they're better maybe someone can inform me down below now we'll start this point here and i'm just going to work around the nose going left and we'll go around the whole bear staying just outlining it i'm not going to follow these uh like the head here i'm not going to follow the head all the way around i'm not doing satin stitches so uh i'll probably speed this up just because it's going to be a kind of a long process so right here you're gonna see what happens when you uh left click when you should have right clicked or when you right click when you should left click it's going to leave a uh a big loop because it's thinking i'm gonna go up like i'm making a round turn it's a point right there i need to end it in a left click see anytime it's a straight away it's a left click and a curve or a round it's a right click so i just want to throw that in real quick as you'll see again i'll make this mistake a few times [Music] [Music] okay so we finished where we started and there we go we have our tack down stitch and that other stitch the placement stitch so you got the tack down stitch and the placement stitch so now we're going to go here we're going to digitize we're going to start with the eyes since they're simple circles so we'll do the circle and we'll go over here try to click dead in the center spread open to the line outer line and then we're gonna do it one more time left click and hit enter and there you have it now i am going to go over here and switch to tommy stitches just because i guess i like to look better i'm not sure if it is better but it just looks better to me we'll see and uh obviously i'm going gonna switch that color to black and i'm gonna do it again for the other side now the other side's an oval so uh go back to black for whatever reason it's not wanting to switch to black so so click in the center so you'll see i kind of did it at a weird angle so i'm going to do it again you want to make sure when you pull down the first time that you know you go to the longest point if you're gonna do an oval just because you'll see here see now i shaped it it's perfect and now all i have to do now is uh change the color and we are solid now what i like to do now is hide the two go ahead and hide them and now we're going to fill in the white stitches so go ahead speed that up perfect they look great now i am going to work on the smaller detail and go ahead and speed that back up [Music] okay so time for everyone's favorite we're gonna go ahead and start the satin stitches this is what makes applique so pretty right so the first one we'll do is the ear just because it's in the back like i said before you start with the objects in the back and then you know work your way forward just because you want these stitches to overlay in a certain way but if you don't do it out of order or if you do it out of order not a big deal you go back and put it in order uh later which you'll see i end up doing a lot here i don't know if i'll keep it all in but uh i make um i do a lot of juggling just to get it how i want it and i guess it's worth it in the end and for you guys it'll be worth it so i'll go ahead and speed this thing up so real quick i just want to show you here um if you notice the stitching there's a lot of overlay and i don't want that to build up and be a problem for the machines or for the design so i'm going to do some on the fly adjusting um i'm just going to move i accidentally move the picture but i'm going to go ahead and move the eyes around i'm going to pull them up and uh i'll also raise the eyebrows and everything not a big adjustment um very small very minor the picture will be kind of off for a while as i'm doing the rest of the applique but it will be worth it in the end trust me [Music] do [Music] you know sorry if i'm uh talking a lot in this video i just uh i'm learning a lot of new tricks and i have to share them so right here um i'm just gonna do a straight center line uh satin stitch and then i'm going to weld this line with the nose just because i wanted to see what happens kind of just experiment and uh what happened was i i discovered something that you know i didn't really know about because i haven't really studied up too much i just kind of dive in and start going to work so as you can see it's welded together and look at all these extra adjustments i get that you never get with a single center line satin stitch so i won't be able to adjust almost like every inch the angle of the stitch so i get a perfect stitch and i have those nice pointy ends that i like so it's not all blocky uh it's not perfect you're gonna see me uh tinker on with it for a while but i think if you get frustrated when doing these digitizing just you know take a deep breath just tinker you're gonna tinker around with it you will get it it's not with at least with hatch it's not that hard with hatch so uh i definitely recommend it and i'll go ahead and speed it up so you can see what i did it's a lot of tinkering [Music] [Music] so this is the other side of the head but since i learned this cool new trick i'm gonna do the same exact thing on this side because once you learn something you gotta you know put it into action you just gotta keep doing it uh probably overkill it but we'll see i think it comes out great you guys be the judge let me know [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay and there you have it so i like to get rid of the picture so i can see just the stitches and i could go in there and you know do some more fine tuning of different stitches make sure they're laying the way i want to lay another you know on top of ones are not supposed to be on top of like you'll see right here with the backstitch i'll go ahead and take care of that and we're almost home [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so i'm just going to add some fabric to the background of it and we'll have a good idea what the applique will look like obviously you could use whatever fabric you like so i'm gonna go over here i'm gonna save the file to my computer so i could do any more adjustments to it this isn't for the uh the embroidery machine this is just so you go back in to make any changes or uh you know whatever i want to do to make it ready for embroidery we're going to go down to export design output design so you click output design and this is where you'll be able to select what machine you're using so in this case i think we're going to use a pez file pes for uh reuter machine or for the um brother embroidery machine so you go down you select whatever file you need and this is what you'll export it as so out put oh my god so select what you want and then all you need to do is select save oh well give it a good name too of course and there you have it guys uh if you like this video please hit the like button uh sub if you haven't subs already and uh if you like what i'm doing please leave a comment down below tell me what you like um tell me if you want to see more of this um also like if you guys could join my wife's uh discord i'll leave the link down below and she also has an email list going around where we are giving away one free embroidery design a month and the first one i believe will ship out in about a week so uh when this design gets to you can uh you know you could use it for kind of any project upload it to etsy you can sell it you can't sell design by itself but anything you
