How to Cure Depression in Project Zomboid

so being depressed sucks i think we can all agree on that not only does it suck having depression in real life but it really sucks having depression and projects on board but today i'm going to tell you how you can get rid of it and prevent it altogether in the game obviously i'm not really qualified to give you actual real world advice that's um yeah sorry that's not really my thing but uh yeah anyways let's get into it so let's talk about the negative effects depression gives you in project zomboid so really all it does is make anything you do take longer so anytime you're doing an action like looting or pulling out a weapon and this little green thing appears above your character the more depressed you are the longer that action will take so depression isn't something that'll necessarily kill your character but it will definitely affect you so let's see how to prevent it in the first place so i'm not sure exactly how the mechanics work but there is some correlation between boredom and sadness the more bored you are the higher chance there is becoming sad and eventually depressed so make sure you're doing things like reading or watching tv to make sure your character doesn't get too bored but sometimes you can't cash it in time and your character might become a little sad once this happens reading magazines newspapers and watching tv won't really help you instead you'll have to find some items that instead of reducing boredom reduce unhappiness luckily there's a good amount of items that can do this like candy comic books regular books and other certain foods but you won't always have access to these items and your depression may have escalated to the point where the items you do have won't be enough at this point you may have severe depression and the best way to get rid of that would to either be just sit in a dark room with a tv on eating tons of ice cream or the less fun option of taking antidepressants antidepressants are semi-common around the map and can be found in doctor's offices pharmacies or just a random bathroom in someone's home once you find them just eat them up and after about two hours your depression will be gone but the best way to deal foot is to make sure you don't get it in the first place so make sure you're keeping your character entertained with something else besides murdering the entire zombie population so they won't get bored and eventually depressed but anyways thank you all so much for watching i hope you found this video helpful and if you did think about going down and hitting that like and subscribe button it's really the best way you can support this channel and comment down below if your character has ever gotten depressed in project zomboid and i will see you guys in the next one
