How to create coloring book for kdp with canva (Step-by-step in 2024)

have you ever wondered how you can use Gamba to make a coloring book for KDP in this video I'm going to show you the best ways to design a Fone coloring book on Cana and how you can prepare your coloring book files in Cana so you can easily publish them on KDP so let's get started first I recommend doing some research on the kind of coloring book you want to make so it's easy for you to stand out once you have the side we can start creating on Cana once we are decide the format of our coloring book we have to come to this page and we need to decide whether we want our coloring book with bleed or without bleed choosing bleed means no wide space on the page like we can see in this side of the book while no bleed leaves some space on our coloring books like in this example with this page we will get the exact measurements for this space and if we scroll a bit more more on here we can see the examples of the measurements so we're just going to click on it and on here we can see the page size without bleed and the page size with bleed so because I choose the 8.5 * 8.5 but I'm choosing it with bleed I have to go and follow these measurements on here so now we can go to Cana and on here we have to click in create a design in this section we have to click in custom size on here we have to make sure we have it in Ines so I'm just going to come and just paste it on here and the same for the other one and we're going to paste it over here and we're going to click in create new design now that we open our design the first thing that we need to do is add our borders and for this we have to follow the measurements from the page so we will come back to our page and we will scroll a little bit more down and on here we will find this for our borders so we just have to follow that it's this same measurement [Music] 0.375 I will leave the link of this page if you want also to get the measurements for your coloring books or for any kind of books that you want to create so now we have to add our borders to do this we have to follow our ruler on Cana I already have it on here but if it doesn't appear for you you can go to the section of file and then on here you will go to the section of settings and on here it will show you show rules and guides and to pull our guides we're going to click from right to left and then we can get our borders so we have to get 375 so I will go a bit more Clos so I can get the exactly measurement so if you see now I already have 300 75 and we're going to make the same from up to down we're going to pull our guide so now I already have the two of my borders where we need to add the other two and to do this we're just going to go to elements and on here I will just get our shape from here and I will make it the same size that we have over here so we have to follow this one and it's there and there and then we're going to grab our shape and we're going to place it over here to get our next uh guide so I would just pull my other guide from here and then just follow this and then get this one again and then just pull it over here and then my other guide on here and I will just delete this one and now we have our guides ready now let's start designing our coloring pages and for this I have three options option number one using canva elements for this option we can go to the section of elements on Cana and we can start by searching black and white so we will go over this option and we can go to the section of graphics and on here we can get a few options so as you can see here we got this one this one we just get to choose from all of these options so I'm just going to get this one on here and I will add it into my coloring book and even if you click this this option CA will make some recommendations but also if you go and click in the three dots and you click and see more like this we can find even more options for our coloring book on here so actually I like more this one this one I think looks more cute and we can keep adding more of these elements now for this it's very important that you know how many pages you want your coloring book to be so you can decide whether are these two options you can add elements in both of the sides for your page or you can leave one space and this will be the front of your first page and this will be the back of your first page so depending on how you want to make your book you you will be adding your pages and to do this I would recommend you to go to the grid View and from here add the number of pages that you want for your coloring book remembering what I just said so two is going to be each size of one page so if I want to make 20 pages I have to make it times two so it will be 40 pages and then I will keep adding till I get the 40 pages so I have already my 40 pages and I'm just going to keep doing this I'm going to be adding my first design leaving one page and then adding the next one so I have to continue on the number three and I will take out the great View and you can keep looking for designs on The Element Section on canvas so you just keep black and white and then you just type your what you want to find so black and white flowers we can even find on here and you see you have a lot of options and we make the same let's say say I like this one I will go three dots see more like this and then we can keep finding elements like that one but if you want to create your own images we can use the next option option number two using CA AI to work with this option we have to go to the app section on Kaa this one on here and in the searching bar we have to type magic media this one and we will click in the first one now that we are inside of magic media we have three options images videos and Graphics we're going to come to this section over here that it says Graphics as you can see it's a very new tool that CRA just released so we're going to be using this one on here once we are on here like any other AI we have to create a prompt that adapts to the design that we want to create so I'm just going to be using this one and on the option of styles we can get the doodle One one that is the one that adapts more for our coloring book but we can even see more you can see we have the toal the monol line line art sketch and we have all of these options that actually adapts for create our coloring book so I'm going to try with this one line art and I'm going to click in generate Graphics so now we can see the camera already generate some options for us and if you like one of these options but you would like to see more what you have to do is just got to go to this three dots over here and then clicking generate more like this so I think I like this one more to add it to my coloring book what I will do is just click over it and I'm just going to go and pull it all the way till it fits in my border and you can start to create all the images with this feature but in case that none of these options work for you we have a third option option number three using creative Fabrica to use this option we just got to go to Google and search for Creative fabric.com in case you don't have an account you can register for free and get free Graphics to get these free Graphics you just got to go on for free or you can even search on here free and we can see which Graphics we can grab from here so as you can see it's giving us some options uh I think I'm just going to be using this ones and it says here free and I'm just going to click in download once we already download our Graphics from creative fabric what we have to do is upload them into Kaa and to do this we're just going to go to the upload section and on here we're just going to choose upload files we're going to click over our graphic and we're going to click in open and to add our graphic in our design we're just going to click over it and we're going to aduse all the way till it fits in our borders you can look in this page for elements that can work for your coloring book I'm also going to reveal some tips that I would recommend you if you are just starting to create coloring books we're going to start by adding some text into our coloring books and to do this with Cana we're just going to go to the text section in here and I'm just going to be adding this title once we already added I'm going to click over here and then we can change the font of our text if you want to look for something that is more kids friendly you can go over this section and just look for something more kids friendly I would recommend you to search on comic or school and I will go and click over it and I'm going to be using this font so I'm just going to go and add my text and what I recommend you to do is you go you click over it and then you go to the section of effects on here we can select this option so kids also can color in in the text another thing that I would recommend you to do is go to the section of elements and keep looking for some elements that you can add on here so maybe we can move this one over here and we can add this one so we do have our bnny but we also add some elements and once we already finished with all of our coloring pages we can move on into create our col cover to create our Cover Book I will be using this page kp. amazon.com cover calculator over here we need to fill all the details for our Cover Book over the measurement units we need to select inches and in the interior print size we have to select the 8.5 * 8.5 because it's the same that we use for our canva design and we're going to click in calculate Dimensions now it generate our template so I'm just going to click over download template once we download our template we have to go again to the Cana homepage and we're going to follow the same process create a design and custom size and for this we're just going to follow these same measurements over here and we're going to click in create new design once we are on here the next thing we have have to do is upload our template and we're going to go in open once we upload it we're just going to go and click over it I will pull it all the way till it fits my design so over there and then what I will recommend you to do is go click over it and then just lock the position so now we can start to create our borders and the template it's not going to move and to create our bers we're just going to go to Element Section and we're just going to add a shape so over here I'm going to start to create my borders over there and I can start to place it in the same borders of the template as you can see here so if you cannot really see if you're making the right position what I recommend you to do is go to transparency and make it all the way there so you can go closer and see if you're placing it in the right way so I'm just going to go and pull it over there now I already have all my borders I can change all the transparency again to 100 and I can even change the color of my borders this will depend in how you want to design your cover book now we can unlock the template and we can delete it now we can focus on designing our cover book with the right
