How To Create A Custom Conan Exiles 3.0 Server On G-Portal | #ad

this is your one and only fire spark 81 with your daily dose of video goodness and welcome back to another informational Conan Exiles video with the release of 3.0 now is a better time than ever to create your own custom server and today I'm going to show you how to do that on G portal and for transparency purposes I just want to let you know that this channel is sponsored full time all the time by G portal and this is a sponsored video by G portal so without further Ado let's get to it here we are in the main interface so what you are going to want to do is create an account once you create an account you're going to be presented with something like this right here we have Conan right it's right there ready to go we could just click it but let's say for example it's not there for you if that's the case you're going to click up here on rent server and then you're just going to scroll down here and you can see that there is a little search box and then we can just type Conan Exiles I have a shortcut for Conan Exiles but you could just type it out type out Conan Exiles and there we go we have it right here there's different versions you can get it on PC you can get it on PlayStation and you can get it on Xbox I don't own a console so we're not going to mess with these I'm going to set one up here on PC so from here you just click this little box and it's going to take you to the next step here we are at the next step the server location should default to the closest location to you so where you have the best ping if it doesn't you can click that little drop down box and pick one of the different locations so I'm just going to pick a location here that is in the US so we see U.S prices because the prices do change depending on where you are so here we are with a US server you can see it's going to cost us 14 for 10 slots that allows 10 people to join at any given time for 30 days so from there I'm just going to click order now after a second it's going to tell you that you are being redirected and from that point you can further customize your server so you can see here that I can change the slots if I want more slots and when I do that it will update over here so if I change it you can see it gets a little more expensive obviously the more slots you add because that's the way renting a server is and if for some reason you don't want to mess with the slider you can easily just put in the exact amount of slots that you want up here so I can just take this and put in 10 and then click off of it and you can see it just puts the slider back down to 10. we can pick our duration obviously you get a discount the more you pick and you will also get a discount if you use my G portal link down in the description and you will also help the channel so you will get a discount for the lifetime of your server by using that link and you will continue to help the channel for as long as you have the server if you buy it with that link and it will be greatly appreciated so then you can change your available location if you need to change that from this point and then after that we're just going to click continue once you click continue you will go to the registration screen if you have not already registered if you have already registered it bypasses that and we'll go straight to the payment method and you can choose your preferred type of payment you can pay with a credit card you can pay with PayPal you can pay with paysafecard or WeChat pay I don't even know what that is but you can pay with it or if you have a balance on your account if you've already uploaded some money to the account you can pay with it from that once you have paid for it you will get this screen that says thank you for your order and then from there you can click activate now your product has been activated and from that point you can go over and click on servers once you have done that you will be brought over to this screen here and you will see something that looks like this this is your server right here and this is where you can configure the settings for your server so if you click this that'll take you to the settings where you can just click this tile that'll take you there if you want to edit the game cloud and change the slots you can do that but something to note is that if you decide you don't want Conan anymore and you still have 10 slots you can delete server and you will still have your 10 slots for however much time you bought it for it you can see we have it for 30 days once you've deleted it you can just click add server and pick a different server because of the way G portal Works you're buying that whole game cloud and those 10 slots for any game that is slot specific so what I'm going to do is just click on the tile here that is going to take us into our settings and I'm going to show pretty much everything here because this is just a temp server I created for the video and I will be deleting it after I make this video so you can put in that IP go in to dial into this FTP whatever you want it's not going to matter it's not going to Exist by the time you're seeing this video anyway you can see right now our server is offline if we want to mess with any of our settings for our server we can click on basic settings and then from here we can select the branch whether we want test live or the live version we can change the name of our server we can't change the slots of our server because 10 slots is all we currently have on our game Cloud so that's just going to always default to 10. we can select which map we want to use you definitely want to set an admin password something that's easy for you to remember that way you can admin yourself in game and if we continue to scroll down you can have all of your other settings like Max nudity you definitely want to set whatever region your server is in so this is an American server the server is in America so I want to set that that just shows up when you log into Conan and it tells you so if we set this to Europe it's still going to be hosted in America but when you log into Conan and you look at the server on the server list it'll say it's a European server anyway you get the idea you can go through here and do all of your settings hunger all of that different stuff Harvest rates all of that stuff can be set through here I'm not going to get into the details on customizing your server Beyond this is where you find those settings that because that could be a whole video to itself one thing I do want to point out that is a really cool feature that I really like that they have here is the broadcast message so if you activate this you can set a timer so let's just say two minutes and you set the message like server restarting and then you click add and then when you click the restart button up here to restart your server it will display this message in game and it will not start for two minutes it's automatic you don't have to touch anything you don't have to remember to restart it in two minutes or any of that it automatically sets this two minute timer and will restart after giving this warning it will restart in two minutes really really super handy feature and if you don't want this to always be active all you have to do is just click this and it will make it deactivated you click it and it comes back and it's good to go again it'll go back on that countdown timer you also have this option over here which allows you to see the config files for your server you shouldn't really have to mess with this too much unless you want to like Blacklist some people or whitelist some people or something like that but you can also see your server ini which is the same settings that we configure over here in our basic settings option if we click on status you can see the status of your server and if for some reason you need to FTP into your server to do whatever backup something maybe you want to download the save file for your server or what have you you can find your FTP information right here if you want to mod your server you can click over here on mods and you can see a list of all of the different mods available for your server you'll also notice that it shows you out of date mods so you know not to install them let's see if we can find something that's actually up to date so we're just going to type in pippy here and hit submit and it's going to show us our two options for pippy this is one I highly advise putting on your server if you are going to run a server we're going to click install and there you go you can see our mod has successfully installed now we can't activate it until we actually start the server so you got to start and stop the server once in order to activate it and then you can activate it and restart your server so what we're going to do is we're going to click online once that's going to update and install the mod it's not active but it is now installed on our server so we can wait just a hot second for our server to fully come online I wouldn't just immediately turn it off servers take a hot second to boot up so we're gonna give it a hot second to boot up and then we are going to take it back offline it's been a couple of seconds now and our server is Now offline all we have to do to activate pippy is now click activate and there we go now it is activated if we had more than one mod installed we can click these arrows to change the position of the mod so you can select your custom mod load order but we're just going to use pippy as our example right now so pippy is now active you also have your activate all and deactivate all buttons and now we can start up our server and now pippy will be installed in active on our server you can also set up automated restarts for your server which I highly advise doing at least once a day so we can pick daily weekly or monthly we're going to do daily the time of day that we want it to restart I'm just going to pick I don't know it doesn't really matter for testing purposes here or demonstration purposes we'll just pick this and we can set up whatever we want here we're just going to call this daily restart click save and now it will go into a daily restart if you set up this option over here that I told you to set up beforehand before it goes into restart this one here here it will actually weight the designated time you have set so if we did something like five minutes we'll just put in some random there it will display this Adas message here wait five minutes and then restart that way it's all automated and you don't have to mess with it and everybody that is on your server will realize that a restart is coming we also have the option to create backups for our server in case something terrible happens and you need to do a rollback it's really easy to do all you have to do is Click create backup click confirm and then it's going to take a few minutes here and then it will create a backup for you there we go it's all done although I did not stop the server I highly advise that stopping your server before you do this it's just good practice to stop your server before creating a backup so you should shut down your server then create a backup but nonetheless we have our backup here and we're good to go if anything happens we can click restore and it will put everything back to the way it was and last but not least we have our permission system here so if you have a friend that you want to help you run the server or whatever you can add their account name to this and click add user and that will give them access to your server note that they will have full access to everything that you see over here so don't give it to people that you
