in today's video i'm going to take you on  a very simple and easy beginner's guide   to cleaning your wheels tires and arches as you can see with this donor car that we've got  here the wheels are not in the best of conditions   we've got loads of blisters and defects all over  them so there's nothing we can do about that   but we can give them a good clean nevertheless we  just want to give it an initial rinse so we want   to give the arches a rinse the tyres and the  wheels we just want to shift off some of that   initial dirt just to make our lives a little bit  easier before we start the wheel cleaning process   let's go through the checklist of some of the  items you're going to need so you will need a   wheel cleaning bucket or two if you want to take  things to the next level and be super safe with   the two bucket method on the wheels you're gonna  need to get a decent wheel cleaner and i'm using   a two-in-one with a fallout remover and i've  listed some other alternatives that i've used   in the past that i thoroughly recommend you will  also need a tyre cleaner but if you can't afford   to splash out on too many products then go for a  multi-purpose cleaner or go for a citrus pre-wash   because it also has many uses so you can save a  little bit of extra money and you can use it on   things like the door shuts and other parts of the  vehicle you will also need some wheel brushes or   wheel woollies but for best results go for both  and also have several brushes for the tyres too   and it's always good to be organized and have a  variety of tools so you're prepared for the job   and because we like to do things different on  this channel we're going to use snow foam too   as part of the wheel cleaning process and then  to protect your wheels afterwards you're going   to need a tyre dressing or conditioner if  you want to keep them looking nice for longer once you're happy with the level of dirt  removed you can start by spraying the tyre   cleaner or apc whichever you prefer all over the  tires and allow plenty of time for them to dwell   and while you're waiting for the magic to  happen you can break out the wheel cleaner   and make sure you give the wheels a generous  amount of product so they get a nice even coverage   after a few minutes the tyres should  have turned slightly brown and the   wheels should have turned purple at  this point you're ready for snow foam at this point you'd normally say why don't i  get the pressure washer out and start rinsing   it now that's a very good point but i want to do  something a little bit different i want to layer   it up with a bit of snow foam i want to add  an extra layer of lubrication onto the wheels once the snow foam starts clinging onto the wheels  you should get left with this beautiful raspberry   ripple effect and it drips off which looks like  a work of art but what the foam is doing is   keeping those chemicals activated and because the  snow foam holds its molecular structure so well   it allows more time to bite meaning  less work is needed to clean the wheels once the snow foam is cleaned on long enough  you can start by using the wheel woolies   and the pre-soaked brushes on the alloys and  what the foam has also done is start to pull   off the dirt with the wheel cleaner that had  originally tackled it and also i'm using the   caliper wheel wheelies because i find they're  the best things that get in behind the spokes   and one thing you will find is every wheel  is different depending on the level of brake   dust so you may need to break out some heavy  duty brushes and another winner for me is the   ez wheel brush for the tyres use a stiff brush  or if you have no budget at all then also use a   fingernail brush and i know that sounds crazy but  i've also made a video on all the other practical   uses that a nail brush can offer for car cleaning  and also put a link in the description below and   for the arches i'm using a very old wheel willie  that has seen better days but you can also use   vicam brushes which also do a great job at  tackling some of the heavy caked on dirt once   you're fully satisfied with your epic brushing  skills give the wheels one last final rinse so   make sure you take extra care to do a thorough  job to remove the last remaining bits of muck for drying the wheels and tires you can just use  a microfiber towel but make sure it's not one that   you're going to use on the bodywork so always  color code your cloths and towels to reduce the   risk of damaging any car and also just to mention  when it comes to drying the tyres depending on   your budget you may want to opt for a car dryer  but they aren't necessarily essential if you are a   beginner it's actually better to invest more money  into a better pressure washer than it is a car   dryer and that's just in my opinion with the tyres  all fully dry all that was left to do now was   dress the tyres and i'll show you a quick and easy  process to make those wheels look as good as new   first of all you want to prime it like you would  with a wax pad so you put four blobs in squeeze it   let it absorb into the pad and then we're good to  go as you can see i'm going slightly inside the   tire now i honestly don't recommend you do this  i recommend you just coat the tyre walls only   because you don't want to compromise the safety  of your vehicle but i wanted to show you guys the   difference between dress tyres and non-dress  tyres and as you can see the tyre moisturizer   gives a fresh finish and i'm loving these  new tyre serums and the funny thing is   they're not actually that new they've been around  for over 10 years and the one i used a few weeks   ago from expert 60 was originally released in  2012 and to save you the time of searching the   best tyre dressings and serums i've listed my  top 10 below so as you can see it didn't take   a lot of effort and it didn't even take a lot of  products either to get perfect looking wheels join   us for the next video where we're going to be  tackling door shuts and i'll see you later bye
