nick rudder for idscarcare.com today at the shop i've ollie from flitz nick nice to meet you too sir um from what i understand because i've actually sold your product for many years in previous ventures you're like the authority on metal polishing yeah well that's why i got the gray hair yeah too darn old well ollie is here to showcase the flitz line which it's not just a metal polish you have ceramics now you have spray cleaners you've got everything right plates have really changed quite a bit we've tried to grow line somewhat but more or less we're going to i want to show you a system especially when you have something really nasty how you can take care of it cool cool we like systems because with the system there's no guesswork for the customer right 100 this is what you use this is the pad this boom this makes it done keep it simple so only once you walk me through what you're gonna do and first of all we have an aluminum wheel here you can see how corroded is on the back side here which of course you normally wouldn't polish so we're gonna be polishing the front side yeah i'm gonna show you how to do the front side like we all would do but then we're gonna take a real challenge and do the back side so you can make the back side look better you can definitely you'll see what i'm talking about well i have faith in you but seeing is believing when it comes to this yes well it's going to be a little it's you know this is the real wheel this is not this is nothing fake that's the best part about it yeah so let's start with this now this is polished aluminum now because this is not corroded and pitted especially being in florida here you're not really dealing with that corrosion but you know up north especially wintertime you're dealing with mag chloride it's a liquid brine you put on the rose before it snows it's really very corrosive so a lot of times we end up using a pry called metal pre-clean now metal pre-clean works like acid but it's not and this would be used for taking off heavy heavy corrosion and i have a piece of copper back here one thing i want to show you with this product if you ever use acid as soon as you put acid on metal this is what happens it turns white it kind of yeah like a milky haze right exactly and i'm going to put some spray this on here and as you notice the wheel here it's not turning white it's actually cleaning the wheel so i'm going to just take a microfiber and wipe it off and i notice it really doesn't smell bad no i expected it to be really potent and clear the room it is it's it's still a pungent but it's uh it's it's it's not unbearable this is actually made of salt this comes out of canada the cool thing about this product is safe on your skin and i wouldn't do that with acid but i'm gonna show you watch what happens when i touch this copper with this with this um chemical see how fast it cleans wow is that something look at how fast it works so it's instantaneous so what this is made of salt as i keep rubbing it it keeps on working so when you have something really nasty you actually put it on you scrub with a brush or a scrub pad like we have here which you make here and then we take water and rinse it now as soon as i put water on it it stops working it's like neutralizing it or 100 see it will not clean anymore yeah so once i put water on you rinse it and i'll rinse my hand here too and then simply dry it off so it doesn't require soap and water so a soap mixture to remove it no water just clean water now it cleans the copper as you can see now not that you're going to polish copper that's not what we're here for but i'm going to take a little flitz and it'll take a light rag this microfiber here and you can see how bright and how fast i can bring that out to a shine like that unbelievable and what i'm trying to demonstrate is when you pre-clean something and that's why this is metal pre-cleaned anything from diamond plate aluminum wheels fuel tanks on semi trucks any corrosion this is what takes this off okay so on the front of this wheel you can see this was polished at one time so it came up pretty clean just with the pre-clean alone but let's take a real challenge let's take the back of this wheel so doing the pre-clean first just so i understand that's going to save you a lot of time in the polishing process because it's taking off that top layer it's going to cut time at least by two-thirds wow and it's going to do a better job now watch when i spray this on the wheel here and if i ever you've ever had a sprinkler system break especially here in florida all the time you get the water on your car you're trying to get those water spots off it's challenging it's a bugger this chemical will dissolve that calcium on contact just like an old shower door that's all crusted so it's safe on clear coat it takes some clear from clear coat on decals on windows anything but you have to rinse it that's the key now i sprayed this on a wheel and here now you can smell a little bit more because it's a little bit more pledging i take the scrub pad i scrub it so i'm taking off the corrosion the heavy heavy dirt that's been on here for a long time [Music] and i take water and i rinse it normally of course you do this with the garden hose and when you rinse with a garden hose like this you're taking and neutralizing it now we'll take it and dry it up now the wheel is clean but it's not polished no and we understand that and that's like anything else you want to take the gunk off first just run your hands from here to over here you actually feel and you can hear it you can hear it too exactly you can it's just like taking off the pitting and that's where the sponge comes in what's cool about this product these sponges they don't look like much this is safe to use on your paint yeah that's we actually sell a version of that called our roadkill bug scrubber okay and this is the metal polish version which yes and it's also easy to hold on to this makes it very very nice and the thing is that they're inexpensive enough you can rinse them out or others throw them away afterwards get that one yeah so now we've cleaned it now we're taking a flitz polish and we're putting directly on the metal now i just want to rewind ollie what exactly is flitz polish i mean it's i see a million different applications on the jar i mean this is like a magic in a jar right well it's not magic but it takes work right but if you notice there's a blue paste yep if you're buffed with compounds like um they use rouge bars and heavy commercial industries they're very abrasive you start with brownie and it would go white then you end up with blue blue is always the final polish we are what they call a 4000 grit so in layman's terms it's super super super fine abrasive every polish has an abrasive this polish is so safe that's why i did his copper with it you could use it on gold jewelry okay then rings silver brass gold whatever you wish when you put it on metal if it's aluminum or chrome aluminum is basically a soft metal but if you notice when i smear and i don't i don't use a lot in fact i tell people to be stingy with it because when you use a lot you're spending more time getting it all off sure now i normally would do this by hand but it's going to take forever now flitz makes buffing balls this is a five inch buff ball you're seeing here on this drill i'm going to take this off here so the audience can see it and there's a shaft that's built in the back here like this now this shaft fits on any drill gotcha so it's a 3 8 piece so if you have an air tool it's even better now i should show this to you when you close this up this is done with the velcro this is done so the shaft is protected it'll be darn so you can put in the washing machine when you're done and reuse them they're not a one shot deal plus when you put this on a drill it's the shroud is going to be protected so you're not scratching anything yeah because this is a makita drill these are not cheap nope but this drill is 2000 rpm that's the great thing about this drill now when i use a buffer i go slow speed first you're going to see how i do this wheel i'm going to start slow over here just spread it on here once i got a spread then i'm going to get the power to it and if you see i put pressure on it but i'm going very slow so as i'm doing this you're taking off the oxidation and here in seconds of a brand new wheel holy smokes that's all it is now you can see the black oxide in here what this does this picks up all that black residue if you normally buff with a buffer the entire facility including yourself is black and with all dust yeah this absorbs it so these can be washed as i said you can wash them five six times eventually fall apart most of our competitors have foam they copied our product but they couldn't copy our patents that's why all are our hex shape so you can see they don't spin so if you run this at 3000 rpm it's going to work at 3000 versus just a straight cylinder cylindrical shape and most of most buff balls are only rated at 500 rpm so this is 3 000 big difference when you polish you need speed this is a 7-inch buffer it's even bigger this is more for semi-trucks for fuel tanks and things of that then we also make a three inch buffer and a two inch buffer now different since the different size buffers when i pop this on just fits in all the holes so if you notice how this one's going to pick up like this like for spokes on motorcycles you just sit right inside there see i'll just take shape to what you're doing just actually shrink down to one inch in size just plastic on here so it doesn't scratch so now if i'm doing a wheel like this and i want to get in this little hole right here i take a little polish i smear it inside i take my time and let me take the wheel and turn around here a little bit so the camera can see how this ball actually works its way through here a little pressure on it then you look itself right inside and if you notice it doesn't tear up or anything that's what a difference between this is foam this is called viscose felt now look the inside that wheel wow and there's no effort that is unbelievable so when you do round lug nuts and things like that for instance if there were lug nuts on here right now the screws would pop right out this is a three inch buff ball that gets right between there okay so now you can polish this buffer without taking off too you can pop your wheel without taking off the wheel wow so these are tools that makes your job a lot easier and having tools is really the key sure because now the sudden you can take something really nasty bring it back in a few seconds and you have something done now watch when i put water on here how this beads up sounds like an anti-corrosive agent yes well see flitz has a basically a ceramic coating if you're familiar with ceramics you know when you buy a new car nowadays the first thing the dealership is going to want to sit you down and sell your ceramic coating for your paint anywhere from a thousand two thousand dollars by doing your own ceramic curing you can really save a lot of time so what we do at flitz we have a ceramic coating that's actually pre-mixed i call it very easy for the consumer because the true ceramic coating comes in small bottles like 200 retail and you gotta know what you're doing to put it on yeah this you simply spray on turns better works better when you turn it on just you know spray it on like this you don't need to let it dry take a microfiber and wipe it off now one of the things with ceramic coatings including ours it's best to keep the item dry for two days the reason why two days from now when this dries this gets super super hard and that will last up to one year now even the worst case conditions you can say six months but it will last at least six months basically one year i have to say if you run your car through a car wash constantly because of the soaps and things that six months all you can expect but it works fantastic and it's only that simple and you can just use a ceramic coating of course not outside metal you can use on paint you put this on your windshield your car it's like re-next on steroids okay it's just super easy so make the water read up and roll right off be right off and that's what the whole thing is because aluminum like this here again in florida is not as bad but when you're up north especially in winter time you want some protective coating oh yeah that's why it's so important to put it on a lot of people take their wheels off in the wintertime just for that reason in this case you don't have to so what we try to again show here is a metal pre-clean for real nasty corrosion so that's that would be step one that's the chemical approach correct if it's really bad if it's not that bad you won't need this but if it is you need something this would be considered really bad correct this is starting to get pretty bad i've done a lot worse than that but yeah it's starting to get pretty bad and let's face it who would polish the back end of the wheel this backing wheel was never polished well if you're one of our fanatical customers that you know we tend to like the details and here you go hey why not yeah why not so then we have the flitz polish and the flitz polish comes in different sizes this happens to be a two pound can which is more industrial size we make it the one pound we make it in tubes and even smaller and then we have the ceramic coatings which come in eight ounces 16 ounces we've also making gallons but the best thing is the buff balls they come in different sizes as i said there's four sizes we sell them here as a set you can buy as a kit or you can buy them individually whatever you choose well what especially what this appeals to me is if you're looking for a set of wheels for your hot rod and you're looking on craigslist or facebook marketplace and someone might have a wheel like this that's sitting in their garage for 10 years and they might think this is too far gone and they put a little crazy low price right exactly and then you get something like this and i mean just restore it garage sales we find treasures i mean there's so many different things out there they're just tarnishing bring right back to life so then before we wrap this up ollie um you know flitz the metal polish what else can you use a sign i mean can you can you rifle off some applications you can do any metal i'm talking all metals even clear coated even clear coated the only thing is it's really not designed for something plated like gold plating because gold plating is so thin then it says plastic that would be like for your windshields that are faded like from a motorcycle or from a boat or something that's slightly scratched headlights are faded fiberglass that's faded because this is a chemical process if you have faded fiberglass put a dab on just leave it sit there come back next day wipe it off you'll see it's shiny underneath really because it works chemically now it's not magic you have to rub it but to really do it what i try to demonstrate to people most products work with like years ago they have a rubbing compound with abrasion this is abrasive like all polishers have to be abrasive but we're only 4 000 grit so super super fine it also says paint restore on here if you have scuff marks from your door handles right when you open from your jewelry and fingernails and different things that somebody's key to car or if you're going deer hunting duck hunting and you're going to brushes and all those bushes and things going inside your car leave little scrape marks takes care of that rb's the best thing look at a big rv you have all these you go buy any tree of all the tree marks on here this will take that right off because it's so fine it also says usda authorized that means a safe you can use on food eating areas and different things of that if you have bluing on chrome exhaust pipes this will take the bluing off a chrome exhaust pipe without scratching okay yeah now when it's blued we can do this through a different presentation sometime you actually put it on leave it penetrate three to five minutes and then take it off okay and believe it or not you don't use microfiber use paper towel paper is a little bit more abrasive if you were polished by hand you want to use paper toweling because it does help scrub it for you okay you know here the the buffer is doing the work but if you're doing by hand the paper towel will actually touch better so when i said that you're the authority on metal polishing it's clearly i mean your wealth and knowledge so well thank you
