all right guys hey look um you know i've been doing a lot of cooking videos out here and uh uh it is time to clean this thing so if you take a look at this i did my my uh brisket the other day and uh see in there that's 10 fold down underneath here let me show you look at that this sucker needs to be cleaned so we're going to clean the the pit grill if you ever wondered how to do it i'm going to show you the best way that i have found to do it it's not hard there's a lot of steps to it so uh y'all hang in there with me and we'll get this sucker cleaned and get ready for another barbecue of some kind i'm an american [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] i'm gonna make it through [Music] [Applause] okay guys start off with i'm gonna i got my gloves so a couple people have mentioned my gloves a lot of people use the black gloves but i was in a medical field so i i have uh at one point so i have a bunch of these gloves so that's why i'm using the surgical gloves but uh so basically what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna reach down here and just taking these things out uh you can see how dirty they are i mean look at that um you know what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna spray a it's gonna spray this easy off barbecue on these um there's probably other ways to do it this does it quick i'll spray it let it soak um just let me basically coat these things let it soak and then sorry all i gotta do is rinse it off with the water hose then i'll come back with a paper towel make sure i get everything else off so i'm gonna get these off move them over to the side and then we'll get it to the grill itself all right so as you can see this is all brisket stuff that uh yeah just dripped off and is i did cook a hamburger today for my wife and my son and a steak for me i did not clean this yet so um i need to do it now so basically what i'm gonna do is i'm just gonna take this top piece off well this one has the little side adjustment so i do have to unhook this and i'll push that out so this is just kind of show you back here on the pro models it has the deal where you can open up and enclose um so i'm going to pull this basically all the way almost out so it's out of the way you can see right there and then i can just pick this up i'm just gonna kind of pull it off the side and put it right here on top of this grill for now and then you can see look at all this junk here this is all from the pit down there so i'm going to go ahead and pick this thing up i need two hands for it and move it off to the side just make sure you guys make sure you remember which side has the grooves and it should be the right side if i remember right i don't feel right now but that's where it is and then i'll show you the inside of here and how we're gonna clean this all right guys now if you look inside here so this right here this is all the junk that came out of the the pit in here and see we have a lot of humidity here in texas so look at look how hard that is this is the actual uh boiler or or i don't know what you the right term for it is but this is where all the heat comes out so right inside here let's see if i can show you is the auger so this is where it drops the uh pellets so what we're gonna do we're gonna clean it out as well and i at this point i'm simply going to pick this up and dump it out and i'll show you why in a minute but there's still a little bit on here so i'll pull out here and just kind of dump it out in this area and i'll clean all this out in a minute and let me show you this all right so this is the inside so i do have some grease here that didn't drain so i'm gonna have to pull that out as well i'm gonna have to get all this stuff out and i'm gonna use a shop vac to do it so make it easy so you notice i dumped this up here it didn't come down this direction so it's not the grease i'll pull that grease out as well but i can shop back this out with no problem along with that as well so let me get to it now all right so i'm going to go ahead and just basically take paper towels right now and pick up as much of this grease as possible [Music] and you really want to make sure you clean these things because guys they will catch fire um had it happened twice on this one once and on a friend of mine's traeger uh was not cleaned out and we cooked on high to get some steaks done and that boy caught on fire so uh you want to make sure you clean these plus the facts if you if you're in a human area like i am east texas this stuff will get wet just from humidity and the next thing you know uh it's clogged up it's clogged your auger up it will clog a lot of stuff up so i get this pretty much done here and i'm going one more time and i'm gonna go get the shot back out and we'll get rid of all the other stuff in there i'm not going anywhere up here over there right now because i'm gonna use it to shop back in this [Music] then we'll go back over this after a while again all right guys so it's time to use the shop vac kind of give you an idea so what i've got here is i'm just going to suck this thing up right here with this hose pretty easy to make sure you get everything out of there [Music] [Music] got that done so notice i got i mean i sucked everything out of there now i'm going to go ahead and rub this one more time got a little bit of grease on there which will kind of help me out loosen anything else see there's a piece i missed another one [Music] a couple more pieces i want to really get this thing clean [Music] push that on down there pull the shot back out one more time another round of that really get this thing clean guys you're not gonna be able to get everything but you want a lot of this out you got grease in here you got um just burp stuff it's gonna wind up catching on fire all right okay guys so now you see inside here so i've sucked everything out of there so i've got two options when i start this again i can prime it or i can simply put a couple of pellets in there now and it's ready to go so when it starts up again it will prime but it's also got stuff to start the smoke with it's good to go so now let's go hit the other pieces over there in my kids toy box all right guys so this is my kids sandbox which he hasn't used in a while he's getting past that age but so basically if you look i put 10 foot on here so i'm going to pull this tin foil up it really makes for an easy clean kind of wand it up as good as possible keep all that stuff in there a little chunk this all right got a little wire brush [Music] breaking the training [Music] all right guys so this right here is gonna be rusty it happens make sure you get the inside both sides of it done look at this you can see just stuff coming off [Music] it will be rusty i'm sorry that's just the way it is see my hands all right [Music] get it all there's some tinfoil stuck to it scrub that off all right guys the russell's not a new thing to you so it's going to happen it happens i've done a lot of research on it and it will happen so basically get as clean as you can and we're going to put it back on all right the next piece [Music] the burner [Music] again get this thing [Music] scrubbed [Music] both sides [Music] all right here we go all right guys the next thing i'm going to do is just fit this tray back in so this is very easy to do you've got four little holes right there that it fits into makes it easy hey guys this was very important to notice these slots right here that's going to go on your right side it's going to fit into this piece right here okay that will hold it give it the angle so it will drain off into this grease trap all right so now we need a 10 full coat this thing you don't have to guys it makes it a lot easier so tell you what i'll come back when it's done all right we're back so let's put this in the camera i'm sorry [Music] so [Music] there we go what you want to do is make sure you have a nice clear path to here for your grease to dry or to drain all the way across all right so your slits are right here you'll see them for the fire pit there's one more right there um so that's where the the fire bowl is that's gonna produce all your heat alright so the next thing there he goes it was right there okay so now that i have the hole in there i know where this is right there i'm gonna go ahead and coat this with tinfoil basically what i'm doing is i'm folding this around making it make sure it's real nice and tight and my two holes that i have go [Music] right there so let's make sure they're in there there we go they're in there now so at this point i can pop my little piece back out [Music] and reconnect it right here get that tinfoil off of there so we'll go in there we go so now i'm able to take this and move it side to side okay i don't ever use that to be honest with you my big thing is i want to make sure this is clean because that's where you get my drippings the grease will run down underneath here into that trap down there which goes into the bucket so that's pretty much how i'm cleaning this thing okay so now i'm gonna go get back to the grill all right guys so i've sprayed the grill down real good and uh at this point i'm gonna go ahead and use my brush scrub it down some more and shoot it with a water hose and make sure it's clean we'll take a paper towel go back over it one more time and uh get it real clean and we'll throw it back in a pick reel and are in the pit boss and make it happen [Music] foreign [Music] all right guys so i've cleaned them all now i've dried them off in place back in there [Music] do one more time just gonna do one more little run over it [Music] make sure you get everything else so what i also did in here gotta give you an idea i used some soap um this regular old dawn soap with a little uh not a not a heavy brillo pad but a uh uh something for dishes basically and washed over these things and we're ready to go guys so this thing is clean the humidity is terrible here guys i'm sweating my butt off this only took about 10 minutes uh 15 minutes and but yeah so now i've got a clean pellet grill ready to go and uh it's ready to cook on now guys hope you enjoyed this hope you learned something from it i watched a few videos on myself did some research to make sure i got the best thing uh you can use the easy off okay some places will say don't use it um you don't use it on painted surfaces but on the grill itself you can use that so guys if you like this video hit subscribe uh hit the like button on there if you would and uh man i hope you guys have had a a great fourth of july because it should have just happened by the time you see this video and uh it's never too late to barbecue man y'all get back at it and thanks for watching appreciate it so i know we get a bunch of haters for uh for putting stuff in my kids sandbox but let me just say those are your toys that have been there for a while we need to take them out he doesn't use this anymore and uh it basically is where the runoff goes to the house so you can tell i shot all that out of there and yeah i'm not putting chemicals in my son's toy box just to make sure you understand that but guys you can't put this on grass it will kill the grass so if you're gonna use the easy off just make sure you do it on a hard surface and by the time you shoot it out it will dilute and it will be fine so uh yeah it's not the sandbox [Music] [Music] [Applause] don't lose your [Music] let's freedom about
