[Music] hello and welcome to the channel in our last video I showed you how to create an end user and then associate it with a 99 71 phone so in this video we're going to create an end user as before but this time we're going to associate it with jabber because the configuration steps with jabber are quite a bit different and then I'll see if I can demo everything at the end so we'll start once again by going to user management then in user and we'll click add new this time for the ID we'll say D banner and the password again is Cisco all lowercase confirm last name is banner and the first name will say David great again we're not going to see the device association button until we click Save and there it is so now we need to configure our jabber client so we'll go to device phone and add new and this time under phone type we're going to select Cisco Unified client services framework then we'll click Next notice first off that there's no field for the MAC address but we need to put in some sort of device name and description so if her name will say jabber banner but no spaces that's the key here and then for the description we can use spaces so we'll say jabber for david banner and just like for any other phone we've got to select a device pool so once again we'll say RTP phone and a phone button template which will be standard client services framework then we'll come down to the owner user ID and just as we did in the previous video we'll select a user we configured which in this case is Dee banner and just like any other phone I've got to come down here and select the device security profile and for jabber it'll be Cisco Unified client services framework standard sip non-secure profile and then for sip profile will choose jabber sip profile and click Save and ok and of course we've got to give it a DN so we'll select line one and we'll make this 1005 and then save now we're going to go back to user management end user and we're going to select banner from the list and we'll come down to device information and select the device association button will find our jabber for david banner here then check the box and then save selected changes then we'll click the Go button under related links and go back to our in user page so if we scroll down under controlled devices we can see that jabber banner phone added to the list now because this is jabber up here under service settings we have some additional configuring to do now to use jabber you have to enable the CCM I am in presence that one's required but I also like to include meeting information and presence this one isn't really required but I like to include it anyway and then just verify under you see service profile that you have jabber service profile selected now in the future I plan on doing a whole separate video on you see profile so if you don't already see a link in the upper right hand corner keep an eye out for that in the future finally the last thing before I demonstrate this is you need to configure down here under directory number associations you need to select your number under primary extension and then of course safe now to demonstrate this I'm gonna open up jabber first we're going to go ahead and type in our user that's d banner at D cloud cisco.com we'll click continue now what's going to happen is jabber is going to send an SRV request or SS our vlookup based on the domain D cloud dot cisco comm for the I am a present server and it will use the SRV resolve to find the IP address so that it can try to sign in to jabber for you now if it fails which it might do then what you have to do is manually put in your authentication information actually I think in this case it hasn't failed yet but we don't have single sign-on setup on the computer so after we put in the password it's probably going to fail anyway and there it is so now we're going to reset jabber and the first thing we're going to do is click advanced settings then select Cisco I am and presence then under login server we're going to put in the IP address of the IMM present server which in this case is 1 9 8 18 130 3.4 now we can put in our user D banner at D cloud dot cisco.com click continue and our password Cisco all lowercase now we're getting all of these certificate pop-up warnings because we're just using self-signed certificates we can just kind of click through these and the reason why we're seeing so many is because each one is for different services within jabber and then these are just little help windows we can get rid of these and there we are all set up now you may have noticed down here in the bottom left-hand corner there was a little red X but it's gone now when you see this it means you're not yet registered to the CCM now you're registered to the I M and P server when you log in but not the cesium at least not until the red X goes away so it looks like we're all set to give this a try I'm going to use a 99 71 phone that I've already registered to call the jabber client and there it is okay that's assigning end-users to jabber a bit different from a phone but hopefully that was helpful to you if you liked this video give it a thumbs up I have new ones coming out every week and if you subscribe you'll be notified whenever a new ones available that's it for now thanks for watching
