Shawn Jordison: Today we're
going to add bookmarks to a really large PDF, and then split
that file by the bookmarks. To make many PDFs. Welcome to The
Accessibility Guy Channel. My name is Shawn Jordison. And
let's jump right in. Today I have a really large file that I
want to split. I've already done a few sections, I have front
material introduction, chapter one, chapter two and chapter
three. And what I'm going to do is I'm simply going to scroll or
use the Page Down key in my file to find the start of chapter
four. And we're going to create a new bookmark. I'm going to
call this chapter four, Norton. And I actually want to
go back and add that keyword to my other chapter to my other
bookmarks. And then we're going to find chapter five. And I'm
going to make sure I'm on the bookmark tab. And then I'm going
to create, oops, I misclicked. I gotta find chapter five again,
went too far. Okay, now I'm going to select Create bookmark,
and then give it a name, Chapter five, Norton. And now I have
a whole bunch more to do. So I'm going to do that now. And this
book is 1,249 pages. So I still have a ways to go. All right, we
are finally getting near the end. Here. I'm on chapter 25, of
adding in these bookmarks. Alright, now that we have added
in all of our bookmarks, what we're going to do is split the
file by our bookmarks. And to do that, I'm going to click
organize pages. And then I'm going to select the split
option. We're going to split by top level bookmarks, and I want
to select the output options. From here, I want to select Use
bookmark names for the final names. And I also want to put
them in the same folder that I selected, and then select OK,
and then split. And so it just split the document into 30
documents, and I put them on my desktop. And now we can see them
all in here. I'm going to select them all and move them to their
new home. And that concludes today's video on how to separate
a large textbook by inserting bookmarks and using the split
feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Don't forget to check out the
link in the description of this video to find out how I can help
you get accessible. Thank you so much for joining me today and
I'll see you next time
