Aldi is a discount grocery store that is known for low prices and also lock down shopping carts for those of you who have been there you know what I'm talking about I found five great deals on meat and I'm excited to share them with you today I took it one step further I went to two other grocery stores bought the same five items so we can compare the prices Apples to Apples we're going to see if Aldi is a great deal or not your Aldi experience starts when you before you even get in the door you have to go get a shopping cart and for those of you who haven't been Aldi before they have this little Contraption on their shopping carts that you have to put in a quarter and that releases the shopping cart and it's a deposit it's a 25 cent deposit on you bringing that shopping cart back I have to admit it's a little weird at first and it took a little getting used to but I figured it out when you go inside Aldi you're going to see this person almost every time it is the person who could not find a quarter to get a cart they are carrying way too many items you could tell they had no Loose Change in their cars I was lucky enough to Rifle around through my car and find a quarter so I could get a cart that's the first challenge that you have to deal with when you get to Aldi is getting the cart it's it's kind of crazy diabolical though because everybody brings the cart back so I guess Who's laughing now let's get right into it here are the deals so our first item is the brudo now I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they have these little packages of Pudo this is a 3 o package and it is $340 9 for this 3 o package these are great for shakun boards I love brudo so salty so delicious and this one $3.49 for 3 oz pretty good deal the next thing we have is this Irish butter there's a very popular brand called Cary gold that is from 100% grass-fed cows so here's one from Aldi that just doesn't have the fancy label on it it is Irish butter made with milk from grass-fed cows and it's a significantly cheaper let's get my notes again it is this is 8 oz for $3.19 later in the video I'm going to show you what it retails for in two other grocery stores and I think you're going to be surprised at the savings for this product right here so we're going to talk about chicken I haven't done a lot of videos about chicken the best deal on chicken is bone in skin on chicken thighs they're cheap they take a little bit of work if you want to take that bone out I'm going to show you how to do that here in a second but you can get the bone out and then you have a boneless skinless chicken thigh easy to put in any of your recipes chicken thighs are more moist than chicken breasts so they're great for meal prepping they're great for reheating they're great for anything throw them on the grill as far as the price goes we're looking at $159 per pound like I said it's going to take a little bit of work I'm going to show you how to take the bone out use that for chicken stock and then you're going to have a boneless chicken thigh I said that the bone in skin on chicken thigh was the best way to buy chicken and and this is what I mean you get a whole chicken thigh that has the bone and the skin on it is a tremendous value but you also get some other parts to use so we got to take this bone out of here we're going to use that bone for stock and that way you can have a nice boneless piece of chicken so what you do is you're going to go down either side of this bone goes right here to here and you're going to take your knife and just do slow Cuts slow little Cuts go around this little piece of cartilage and as soon as I get underneath it I'm just going to come out the back come out the front just kind of picking it up and then making little tiny cuts and take the bone right out save all the bones you're going to use it you can use it for chicken stock you can if you can leave it here with the skin on and sear them up and do all that or you can take the skin off again just kind of peels off you need to have your knife help it along a little bit you can now this skin if you want to get crazy you could render it out you render out the skin and get chicken fat and use that to cook with I mean it's it's unbelievable what you can do with this um there's a little bit of cartilage stuck right here so we just feel around after you're done you kind of give it a little bit of a rub down and see where you can there's any hard parts and you're going to now you have a boneless skinless chicken thigh how long that take not very long at all takes a little practice you get the bones for stock it's a win-win for everybody and it's cheaper than any other way to buy chicken so there you go try it next we're going on to the pork territory now you know guys know from my other videos that I do love pork the the deals are so good in the pork aisle and this is a pork tenderloin this pork tenderloin is going for $3.79 per pound I'm going to show you how to break this down too because there a little bit of silver skin needs to get taken off marinate it put it on the grill roast it I mean it is super tender and flavorful it's a great cut for that everyday meal that that you need to make and get on the table for your kids so I love pork tenderloins so here's our pork tenderloin the only thing we really have to do with this is to take off this silver skin you see this it is a piece of connected tissue that is very very tough and inedible so we don't want to have any of that so what we're going to do is take some of this senu right here just release it a little bit so we can see the silver skin all right we're going to take our very sharp knife and just go underneath the silver skin and pop it out out going this way now what that does is creates a little handle right here see this little handle holding tension this this way we're going to come back the other way with a knife and just take it off really nice and easy see that silver that's what we want to have happen we want to take off the Silver skin without damaging the meat do it again this is where having a really sharp knife helps because it just goes through it really nice and easy here we go again when you're coming back the other way angle that knife slightly upwards just give it a good check see if there's anything else this little piece of fatter or fine but just give it a little check make sure it's all good this is a beautiful looking pork tender line and at number five grassfed ground beef usually at a discount grocery store you wouldn't expect to find higher end products like a 100% grass-fed ground beef well they have it at Aldi and it's a great deal this one PB package is $4.99 compare that to the other prices of other grocery stores this is a great deal this is 8515 which means there's 85% lean and 15% fat 8515 is my favorite it has the right amount of fat where it's not too much but it still adds that moisture to your hamburgers to your chili adds that fat component that makes it taste really good without it swimming around in fat so I think the 8515 is just about per perfect as far as the lean to Fat ratio so $4.99 a pound really good deal and it's 100% grass-fed ad Aldi go figure who would have thought next I'm going to show you what I got from the other grocery stores I'm going to go through really quickly and show you what I paid for each item and we're going to see how much Aldi saved us on these five products let's check them out next I went to the Publix's grocery store and I got the same five products now prices may be different in your area so you're going to have to check your local grocery store but these are the ones that I bought today I got as close as I could to the same weights that I got from Aldi for the per pound items and then this is what we found our next price comparison is from Walmart so I went to Walmart and got again all five of these items the kicker was I even got the chicken thighs on sale so we'll see if how much that affects the prices I was easily able to find all these items at Walmart and now I'm going to show you the prices and we're going to compare all three of the grocery stores to see which one came out cheapest here we are for the final comparison I bought all the same products I got as close as I could to the amount of weight for each product so this is about as equal of a comparison as I can do let's start with third place what was the most expensive which one do you think Publix Aldi or Walmart which one do you think is the most expensive drum roll maybe I don't know here we go at number three the most expensive was Publix now Publix came in at $49 $12 for everything you see here it's kind of expected Publix is my regional grocery store it's not the cheapest but it's also not the most expensive it's kind of a middle of the road in my area who got second place you think it's Ali or Walmart which one do you think it is actually Walmart Walmart got second place this total was $37.46 still pretty good this is a lot of meat for that that amount of money and on top of that at Walmart all the chicken thighs were on sale so I actually to make this comparison I actually found some sale price items so it actually would be a couple of dollars more expensive if those hadn't been on sale finally Aldi came in at our winner the lowest price for all these items for $29.67 that's pretty good I mean we got a lot of protein here for that amount of money so I'm pretty pleased I was surprised when I went into Aldi I really was about some of the deals that they had had and some of the products that they had next time you drive by an Aldi go check it out go get inside don't forget a quarter though or you may be stuck without a c if you like this video you're going to love the next video where I go and find deals at Costco so check that out next we'll see you on the next one
