How I WON a Minecraft Speedrun Tournament

yo everyone what's going on curry way here and in this video i got first place in a minecraft speedrun tournament this tournament was hosted by a streamer named iwin who has done a bunch of different tournaments in the past that a bunch of top speedrunners participate in almost every weekend so definitely go check them out in the description down below these tournaments are called scout and route tournaments and basically what that means is think of it kind of like my set seed videos where i scout the seed beforehand i find a really good route that i know is gonna beat the game fast and i try to be the game as fast as possible in these tournaments you have about 10 minutes to scout the seat out that you're given and usually there's different routes that you can actually take like usually there's two different routes in the nether two different routes in the overworld and it adds a lot of variation it's really cool and once the 10 minutes is up you reload the seed and you try to beat it as fast as you can before the other runners the last people to complete the seat i believe it's the last two or the last four depending on where you're at in the tournament get a mark and if you get two marks you are eliminated from the tourney how the format works is there are 32 speed runners split into four groups of eight for the first day and then the top two from each group make it to the second day and then that is just one group of eight i got second place in my group on saturday which netted me a spot in the finals on sunday and after eight seeds of knocking out the other seven runners that were in the groups with me we made it to the finals against one other runner named the talking mime who i will leave linked in the description down below they are extremely talented and i highly recommend you go check them out i hope i did a pretty good job kind of explaining what you're about to see i know this is a bit longer of an intro than normal but i kind of wanted to set the stage a little bit and yeah i hope you enjoy this was very fun in the moment i had a blast this is also if you saw my community post we did a charity stream during this and this was when we raised the bridge on treasure bash in between the treasure part and the ramparts i mined the second block and a piglet came off the top of treasure and hit me off i was like okay that's sick most rng thing ever if this is structuralist i'm gonna cry i haven't had a village run like all day we had the one village one but i did bury treasure five sixty forty eight wait what is this playable room portal axe two and a flynn seems pretty worth where's the ship five sixty forty eight oh am i like dumb am i going the wrong way i am going the wrong way this way hello what's here i might go for this i'm not that's what eight not even really worth and there's no very treasure around here right yeah no three 297 329 like all the way over there so i could do that maybe 297 329. that with the rune portal is enough i'm also entering with gold pick then hmm and i i'm pretty committed to this i'm pretty committed but i'll check i'll check around again where do i spawn in pretty committed to this but you didn't know shot i'm playing anything here no shot i'm doing this hit the room portal on the way come here chat i need you to remember the block that we had that i forgot about already 297 329 okay should be pretty easy to spot because of the the sticking out granite and then i just enter here do you mean right yeah just entering here um probably this one yeah um set block what is this dude fortress here the fortress uh i don't know it might be negpaws i'm not sure it's an egg pause so that means negative 96 negative 240 i'm feeling way better by the way i'm hungry i don't know what it was my body's getting over it though bridge here i would have ended stream normally but i'm glad i pushed through for the tourney um we're not fortresses neg paws that might be the only play i have because zero 352 is not happening and the last one this and this is like the complete opposite direction um yeah so we're going here so the question is how are we doing this so where do i spawn in again i don't remember where i spawned in [Music] i don't know where i spawned in there's anyone that can route a bridge bash and it's the guy you're watching six minutes fortress right yeah so that's fortress so i i spawn in here go out here mine on my wood how do i get there how am i getting this bastion it's more this way still right yeah dude oh i think you do fortress first but like how you play for enderman maybe do i play for enderman and hope i get the pearl and then just rip one i probably just rip one to here because the good part of the fortress is over here there's no oh my god there if i'm ripping one i might as well just rip it to the bastion this is a tough seed this is a good seed for the last one honestly if i rip it bastion should be like here go this way i think i've ripped bastion and do the bachelor and then go fortress i think that's the play and then i'm blinding like here the catches is probably a better blind spot at the bastion that's what i'm imagining negative 11 36 14 64. um wait i should i don't know what i'm doing the three i so i only need five rods and negative 17 30 um 216 uh 1492 columbus sale the ocean blue 186.5 um kill that block um i go this way so negative 216 186 place warner's here where's the second spawner here so i hit both of these hit that one first go here negative 216 186 is just straight this way um kind of similar issue where you just need to mine through a wall there's no shot this doesn't put me in the stronghold 8216 186 like no shot i'm in it bro three minutes guys no shot man okay whatever all right if i miss somehow uh negative 730 1492 is the dig down core oh jesus no it's not dig down chords are negative 17 23 1487 or dig down i'm really surprised this doesn't put me in i'm gonna be honest um so i go from i'm here and then i purl down here and then pearl here yeah yeah i'm throwing a pearl down here and i'm throwing a pearl up here and i'm digging through this i probably need two gold picks but it's bridge so it doesn't matter i'm just doing this yeah oh that's not good what did i do wrong oh okay so if that happens then i just dig through like three blocks or whatever yeah and then i'm here okay um that makes sense i understand so let's think about the the hardest part is going to be here it's how are we getting to the bastion first we're going this way we're building up we're going to get an insane amount of wood right here from the street because we have the gold axe remember right so then we're looking for we're looking for a pearl if we don't get a pearl that's fine we just speed bridge here over and then we're chilling and then we just grab like those mushrooms on the way and those mushrooms on the way and i'm here is it dip it's not dip so i have to do normal i have to do normal bridge kind of annoying but whatever i want to double check my early game again because i i want to grab dandelions so those might be dandelions these might be dandelion so i'll definitely be able to grab dandelions on the way we go to the forest we go this way very treasure like here here right treasure here online with the two trees very treasure then down and in we're here i'm going this way cutting out a massive tree enderman would be pog and everyone would be pog we don't get it it's fine if we don't get it we just build up and then bridge over here and then we get mushrooms there we ride this sideline we got mushrooms here and then boom we're at the bridge it's probably worth it to build up to here right like just go up here all right guys time is up please head back is fine it's kind of unlucky shouldn't be more than that honestly shouldn't be more than that at all um nice uh scene i want one more i need one more string i'm out more both come on i'd also like another fire as um come on you know another fire as whatever dude i gotta leave there's so many pearls okay that works it's um oh that's really annoying that's what i was trying to get at i get a good blaze cycle i'm out on this i need three blazes and i'm guaranteed out if i get three spawns i'm guaranteed out come on game get two please yes oh what's my fire is on 34 it should be fine i'm
