[Music] [Music] [Music] for good morning from Chittagong Bangladesh I have  just arrived here in this southern city of   Bangladesh and it is very hot I think it might  be hotter here than it is in Dhaka but this was   the plane we took us Bangla Airlines one of  these propeller Jets this is little not a bad   looking airport I think this is like the second  or third biggest city in uh in Bangladesh so I'm   excited to explore Chittagong with you guys  I have some friends meeting me here who are   going to show me around their beautiful city  um jitong is a it's a it's a metropolitan City   from what I hear it's not it's not like a  villagey place it's a it's a booming City   not as booming as Dhaka not as chaotic as Dhaka  I hope but um yeah I've heard a lot of good   things so let's go see how it is I got to get  out of this airport and make my way over to the city all righty guys I'm about to get  into a CNG car car everybody's arguing   car uh no no CNG c c CNG is uh more good  money you know car too much money 1,200 n   no no AC car uh I'm M yo I don't  have too much money you know and   a m yo Mustafa you told him 500 okay  cool cool all right I'll see you soon then okay all right you told them  where right okay okay thank you bro all right guys so now I am on my way  so I'm paying about 500 taka to get to my   destination which is about five bucks not bad  okay brother let's go Salam alaykum what's your name thank you brother let's go to the gum so  uh back in prison guys you know the CG is here   so actually somebody I learned why they have  these bars here on these CGS I thought it was   like for safety hazard like for sticking your  hands out but it's actually because they used   to be a lot of theft before doesn't happen too  much anymore but people used to like reach in   and take your [ __ ] so doesn't happen too  much anymore but since that time they never   really changed it by the way guys just so you  know my flight us banga Airlines for one way   from Daka to uh Chittagong cost me around I think it  was around like $30 for a one-way flight was not   bad the good thing about Bangladesh is they  have two local Airlines bimman and US Bangla   so flying domestically is pretty reasonable  within Bangladesh so makes it makes it very convenient okay maybe I spoke a bit too soon about   the less chaotic but it's definitely still  less chaotic than Dhaka but it's still [Music] [Music] Bangladesh I'm out of the jail oh my God  the CG ride was crazy guys um I will say Chong is   definitely less trafficky than Dhaka for sure but  uh it's still some similarities but definitely I   think this city is a bit less crowded by the  way guys this is my friend Mustafa hello he   is hosting me here in Chittagong he's welcomed  me here thank you so much brother um so if you   guys do ever decide to come to Chittagong this  is this is the guy to know he can introduce you   guys to some cool places here but we're going to  discover this city a little bit I got to go get   to my hotel drop my bags I'll show you the hotel  as well and then uh give you my first impressions   of this beautiful city here in Bangladesh NAA in  here we are man this is my hotel it's costing me   about $30 a night 20 or $25 a night rates vary but  it's around that and I'm going to give you guys   a little tour of the hotel let me just check in  how are you all righty here's the reception area here we are welcome to the Nava Inn guys  beautiful hotel actually uh for the price   you get a nice big bed it's about a queen-sized  bed that's pretty comfortable you got AC which   is a must here in Bangladesh or else you  will pass out here's my view not much of   a view but is what it is and I guess this is  the bathroom right is this the bathroom no   oh it's a balcony oh snap we got a balcony woo  look at that guys you got a balcony it's a big   balcony too got a view views of Jong that's  a nice hotel too all right and where's the   bathroom it's oh it's over there okay okay  okay so yeah this is what you get here for   uh $25 a night it's pretty fair okay thank you  sir yeah is this is the bathro okay thank you   all right it's pretty clean you know listen for  a budget hotel it's not bad guys so if you ever   come to uh Chittagong and you need a decent  hotel to stay in for a good price NAA in is [Applause] perfect all righty guys we are walking through the rich  area of Chittagong at the moment this is where the   money is huh yeah this is where the people have  money and we're meeting another friend asalam Alum   Tick Tock nice to meet you and your name is j yeah  I already know but I'm saying for the video hi my   name is ma how are you good very good nice to meet  you finally thank you these two have been in touch   with me since like before I even came they were  like we have to show you Chittagong we want to   show you everything so they're going to be my uh  they're my friends but they're also hosting me and   they're going to show me around it's a pleasure  to finally meet you lunch uh no first we're going   to go to see the the thing and then after we will  eat did you eat yeah Kalia Kal K all right so she   also speaks Udu very well so if I speak some  Udu here and there I'll I'll translate it for   you you guys so this area he was uh explaining is  like the area where it's like a it's like a nice   residential area right yeah this is where the  money is so guys if you room is okay it's very   nice beautiful yeah so now we're going to go to  the War Cemetery yeah okay so we're going to head   over to show you guys some history of Chong cuz  it's a very important uh artifact so we're going   to head over there now we're on a r the best way  to travel around Bangladesh cuz you get to see   everything if you travel in Bangladesh and you're  moving around and you want to see stuff don't take   a CNG because it's like being in a prison this  is the best way you get a nice open view oh all right look how strong this guy is man yeah  pushing us you have to be strong man to do this hello are you okay oh she's faster than us  we're racing she's beating us [Music] [Music] for thank you thank you beautiful song from the gentleman all right guys we are headed  towards we're about to head into this   uh War Cemetery right now Alum alikum I  think they're selling some Pond here all right oh I've tried this snack it's like  a mango I think yeah oh avocado can we go   in yeah all right wow look at this beautiful  amazing so basically this Cemetery if I'm not   mistaken hey smart girl we need your information  tell us what is the what is this Cemetery give   us some history here can yeah say it say  it in Udu I'll translate if I [Music] can world World War II yeah so this Cemetery  was after World War II when the British were [Music] here 5:00 5:00 so this place closes at  5:00 p.m. and opens early in the morning and   also they take a break around 1:00 p.m. so  if you want to to come here you got to come   around between those windows but any like I was  saying the history so basically the British as   you know if you don't know the British ruled  this whole region of South Asia between India   Pakistan Bangladesh all of that and at that time  when they were here this was during World War II   there is the there was a war and whoever passed  and died during that war they're buried here in   this Cemetery but funny enough this is something  you will never see anywhere else people actually   come here to hang out have you ever seen a  place where people look you look around people   are hanging out they're on dates girls are here  hanging out with their friends it's like a place   to like really just have a good time which is so  funny because back home in a cemetery you will   never catch anyone unless they're going to visit  their dead family but here people hang out can   we go inside or no all righty guys they have led  us into the cemetery but yeah like I was saying   it's really a very interesting it's a beautiful  place and the one thing about this like parks and   cemeteries here they're the one of the few places  in Bangladesh where you'll find just peace when   you walk in here you feel a Tranquility as soon  as you step outside it's chaos again but in here   there's peace and as you can see these are all  the bodies that are buried here from the war times   and in the middle there's a cross is that cross  here from that time Christian Christian people   yeah okay okay very nice but man they do a really  good job like maintaining the grass and it looks beautiful so I think a lot of the people who  are buried here are British soldiers so you   have Lieutenant R croon from the Royal Engineers  2nd 22nd of March 1945 man he was only 31 years   old when he died that's how old I am now that's  crazy guys were young this guy was 30 years old jeez people died young oh so here's a Hindu  Soldier oh okay so it tells you so this guy   is Christian this guy is Hindu it tells you  where these people are from so this one is a   IND Indian Royal Indian army service corpse  so you have you have all different kinds of   soldiers buried here people from all over the  or whoever was here at that time oh look at   this 1939 to 1945 this book contains the names  of 6500 Sailors and merchant seamen who died   in the service of their motherland oh okay so  there's a book here it's obviously locked up   we can't open it but it contains the names of  6,500 people man that's a lot of people I don't   think they're all buried here but they they they  died in battle here in Chittagong an interesting   fact for you guys actually my grandfather uh  was actually a soldier he was a I'm sorry he   was a naval officer and he was captured during  war this was pre uh pre partition before India   Pakistan Bangladesh was all a separate he was  actually captured here in Chittagong area when   he was in the waters here and he was actually in  held in prison held captive for over like three   almost like a year and no nobody knew where  he was my family had my father and this is   actually my grandfather from My Father's Side  nobody knew where he was they didn't speak to   him for a year but luckily the the uh Indian  army that captured him treated him very nicely   they didn't torture him or anything like that  so he returned home safely but it was a scary   time for my family because nobody knew where  my grandfather was but it's very interesting   by the way rest in peace cuz he passed away  but it's very interesting that I ended up in   the land that he was captured in I mean it's so  interesting how life works you know comes full circle is this a place that you enjoy being  in I know you were born here and raised here   but is it some place that's like special  to you or if you or if you had the chance   you would leave yeah we if we have chance  you will leave okay and and why is that for   better opportunities better opportun okay  okay is there not a lot of opportunities [Music] for America I mean  lond America Australia most slowly slowly so she's saying basically  like that Bangladesh should start changing   and and and it is starting to change you are  starting to see things change the economy is   growing the people are becoming a little bit  more liberal in understanding but obviously   there's still a complications and issues and  U you know it's there's it's tough for younger   people for opportunities and that's why a lot  of the young people want to go they want to   leave so that they can have more opportunity  you know it's just the reality of the world man there's some kind of uh Pro uh protest  going on for some politics stuff you know I   don't get involved in politics but something's  going on this is the famous Royal Hut here in   Chittagong if you come to Chittagong and you  don't come to Royal Hut then you haven't come   to Chittagong this is is this the most like  you would say like one of the most famous restaurants so it's a very old restaurant  it's been here for a long time not sure how   long but oh guys the food smells so good oh  my God you can already smell it look at this   whipping it up to go oh man oh it smells SM  so good uh Balo Balo very Balo thank you oh   look at the Nan or the RO hello Alum wow  look at this oh man I'm so excited to eat   my stomach is like literally talking to me ah  it's going to be really good all right here we are inside all right we're going to hello Alum  how are you sir how are you good fine I'm making   a video about your restaurant yeah are you are you  the manager manager he's the manager how long has   this restaurant been here how many how many years  how many years 30 30 30 years wow it's a long   time very nice we're going to sit down and have  some food 30 years guys 30 years the restaurant   Resturant has been here that's a long time which  means the food is good or else they wouldn't be in   business that long bro you order and I will  eat it I trust you okay yeah but definitely   get some Roti or the the the the Pata whatever  yeah Pata yeah so look guys this is their menu   and look at this man the prices are actually  really fair for a good restaurant you can get   a chicken masala for 150 which is literally like  .50 and then you can get like you can get mutton   Kebab for 180 actually the prices are really fair  it's very uh very reasonable [Music] [Applause] yeah come on come on right here for y'all  that don't know this is chicken Tika or   just chicken masala so it's basically just cuute  chicken pieces oh my mouth is literally watering   while I'm talking cuz it's so it smells so good  and it's a some bone chicken pieces as well and   it's actually looks smells really good looks  really good and then over here what you have   is a typical barbecue you can find this in many  South Asian countries but this is the special   chiton version of barbecue Tika chicken Tika  so first I'm going to take also they gave us   some uh Pata this is like a bread with oil and  you you have to basically use it as the device   to pick up your food so first we're going to try  out some of this chicken chicken masala oh the   chicken just breaks apart look how tender it is  it literally just as soon as you touch it it just   breaks apart which means it's been sitting  in the stew for a long time so it's picked   up all the flavor of the Masala and everything  so let's try it out oh so hungry this is like heaven oh good wow it's perfect absolutely perfect  oh it's spicy too you like it's spicy I love spicy   so guys I've been saying this over and over food  in Bangladesh is very spicy it's very similar to   Pakistani Indian Cuisine spicy food so for  those of you who don't like spice don't come   to Bangladesh but if you do like spice this is  so perfect and it's so a spicy lover you are I   am I grew up eating spicy so like you know in our  in our house they used to cook Pakistani food so   for me spice is like a must but some people  don't like spices I don't know how you need spice wow okay so the masala is amazing  we already know that yeah here it is look at this chicken Tia  that's how it looks on the inside good piece of meat too look at that and you   don't have to dip this in  anything it's just so good alone oh wow wow it's amazing I don't know which one is  better they're both really really yummy um yeah I   guess I'll just eat both why not guys please eat  eat eat okay oh salad okay they give you a little   they give you a little plate of uh raita some like  chne kind of yeah um yeah guys uh what is the name   Royal Hut right Royal Hut you got to come here  and try the food wow guys please eat eat eat I   don't like to eat alone no no no no no you have  to eat eat eat eat I want to see your reaction too she's telling us why this place  is famous so go ahead this is famous because this price is a so you don't have to be  like a rich person to eat here you can be I'm   poor no you're not poor so basically what she's  saying is like this is uh anybody can come and   eat here you don't need to have a lot of money  to to come here and eat cuz sometimes restaurants   like fancy restaurants they're very expensive  so they keep like certain people out but this   one all kinds of people come all right guys so we  finished up the food here as you can see I think   jna ate the [Laughter] most it's okay it's okay  you're healthy all right so guys for that whole   meal we had the chicken kebab we had the Masala  dish we had the uh chicken leg the the barbecue   and the waters and everything that you see on  this table is 500 500 right 500 taka which is   literally like less than $5 for everything  and the Pata and the just everything I mean   500 taka less than $5 for such amazing food only  in Bangladesh man man that food was so so yummy   I'm so full we're just going to walk a little bit  so we can digest we need to ham ham H we need to   hm so this right here is a Wonderland guys you can  take your kids there I don't have any children yet   so did you ever go there or no I don't like too  much no no why you don't like those rides are you scared all right back into  the jail cell back into jail [Music] guys all righty ladies and gentlemen  we have arrived to the market let's   got across the street without without getting hit oh it's madness here Madness all right here  we are welcome this is the market welcome to the   market what's the name of this Market hkers huh  Hawkers Hawkers Hawkers yeah this is Hawkers J Haw   jur Hawkers jur Hawkers this is a market full of  like clothes right clothing and mostly clothing or   clothing only clothing okay so we're going to walk  through this market for a second maybe we'll find   something interesting and make a purchase if we  can find something that I like cuz you know what   guys a lot of the clothes that I even the shirt  I'm wearing right now is made in Bangladesh but   for some reason I can't find something that looks  like this here cuz usually they send out the good   stuff and the stuff that they keep here is not the  good one but anyways wo it's huge the big Market here so they sell like women's clothing salum yeah yeah they'll find out it's cool made  in Bangladesh also so you're supporting local businesses all right guys few minutes in and  I've already purchased uh an item listen when   you come to these markets even if you don't need  something it's good to buy just to support some   local business and what I love about Bangladesh  is you you really are supporting local business   cuz it's made here it's sold here and is is  it true that the material comes from other   like overseas like the actual raw material raw  material comes from from from like China and   things and then the the ass they make it here  okay very nice wow man man this Market goes on   forever you know this is a good place to get a  custom suit also if you need a good custom suit   except I'm going to need those next year like  my best friend is okay see this eventually   becomes a suit guys he's the tailor you're  a tailor ah how how many years did you you a tailor 15 years wow so that's like a master tailor  so the suits that they sell here he makes them   yeah he makes them for these shops oh okay okay  very nice but if I want to buy a custom suit if   I want to make a suit around my body would I  come to him or go there you can you can like the designs though if only the quality of   the shirt was like this then I would buy one so  just so you guys know so this market right here   that you're looking at is is actually technically  a wholesale market so a lot of the shops in Chong   or outside of Chittagong actually come and buy  their goods here and then they'll sell it in   their local shops wherever they may be so this is  technically a wholesale Market but you can just   come here and buy one piece of clothing if you  want to like I just did and I'm very satisfied   with this t-shirt man this is good quality man  I'm telling you guys I've been saying this before   give it another 5 to 10 years Bangladesh is going  to take over the manufacturing of textile mark my   words this is in recording you guys are going to
