hey guys welcome back to my channel so most of you know I've lost over 100 pounds so whether you're trying to lose 5 10 15 or even 50 pounds today I'm going to share five tips that genuinely help me throughout my weight loss training so come on let's go [Music] now one of the best things that really helped me on my weight loss Journey was going back to basics like literally Meats veggies healthy fats so protein is definitely a huge huge Factor so I think it's super super important to focus on protein now it really does depend like whether you're going to have a fattier cut of meat if you're going to do something more lean chicken turkey a white fish is super lean lower in calories obviously all protein whether it's chicken fish salmon shrimp all of that is zero carbs so you really don't have to worry about the carbs it's more of the fats and calories just really depends on what you're eating throughout the day now of course if you're low on calories for the day then that's where you could definitely throw in a ribeye steaks are a little heavier in calories they are heavier in fats you know a rib eye in New York those are going to be a little fattier ground beef and then even salmon so salmon is delicious I love salmon but it is a little higher in calories because it's nice and fatty which at the end of the day guys all protein is good like I don't want you guys to feel like oh my God I have to be careful with it no always focus on protein and then of course your veggies and I'll walk you through that right now but protein I wanted to show you there is so much to select from whether you're going Seafood whether you're doing a lean meat or whether you're doing something fatty okay so before we move on to the next tip because we're still talking about protein I have to emphasize how important eggs are guys eggs are the perfect macronutrient it is a perfect balance it's super high in protein they are very filling they are again protein have healthy fats the only thing I would say is if it's within your means definitely go for a pasture-raised egg it has a lot more vitamins that's why you have those Amber you know the amber colored yolks at the end of the day as long as you are incorporating eggs into your diet some way somehow then you are good guys so all in all protein is what's going to help keep you feeling nice and full and satiated which is all obviously really really important if you're trying to stay on track and lose a few pounds now moving on to the veggies guys veggies are so important and yes they are carbs but they are complex carbs these are healthy carbs this is not like processed junk which we will talk about after not only are they nutritious and just full of vitamins they also add bulk to your meal so if you're someone that likes to have big meals veggies can definitely do that like if you have just think about even a quick omelette if you just do two eggs two eggs are gonna look like a teeny tiny bit of food yeah but if you add spinach and you add some broccoli and onion and like maybe some zucchini or asparagus or whatever mushrooms you now have like an omelette that is nice and big because it adds that bulk to it same scenario across the board for lunch for dinner not only that but they're low in calories and they're low in carbs so even if you're not trying to lose weight through low carb guys those are just things overall just in general like even if you go on like Fitness pages and you're looking at like bodybuilders they're all always going to opt for veggies lean proteins lower in calories now calories is a whole different video but even though it's not all about calories calories definitely do matter so veggies are a great place to add a lot of bulk to your meal now I personally opt for veggies that are much lower in carbs so I'm going for the broccoli asparagus mushrooms spinach they're all just super nutrient dense and very very low in carbs and calories but there are certain times during the month right when that time of the month is coming where I am craving more carbs and that's where I would probably opt for like a sweet potato maybe like even a regular potato yes they are higher in carbs but guys these are complex carbs these are healthier carbs we're not talking about a bag of chips we're not talking about ice cream and cookies these are natural foods now I will say that if you're really really trying to watch your carbs onion and tomatoes are a lot higher in sugar than other veggies especially like the leafy greens so I would just be really mindful of that all right guys so now moving on to the infamous chip aisle guys this is probably my favorite aisle in the store I'm not even gonna lie I'm not even going to try to front but the carbs in this aisle do not compare and I know we probably already know this but these carbs are not the same as veggie carbs those are complex carbs these are processed carbs now even though this has baked and sure it probably has a little less calories but when you read the label back here guys there this is very far from natural very far from basic remember when you're really when you have a goal and you're really trying to hit that goal you're really trying to stay focused you're really trying to eat healthy then you definitely want to stay away from packaged Foods you are going to find all the foods that you want to eat on the walls of the store so you're going to find your veggies you're going to find your Dairy and your cheese you know and then all your Meats right your protein you have your Seafood out there the deli all of that is on the edge of the store so always remember that in these aisles there is going to be processed junk that is extra calories that you do not need now I'll show you some of the things that I personally buy so like skinny pop guys this is a lower calorie option so kind of like people think it's a healthier option even I know it is not this is it probably has canola sunflower oil sunflower oil is still inflammatory so don't let anyone tell you otherwise yes I eat it I try to limit it at you know whenever I possibly can siete chips are made with avocado oil so they are probably the healthiest chip if your chip is fried in avocado oil then you just know that the company is really looking out for ingredients that they are using a very healthy oil but all in all this is still a snack this is still loaded with calories this is still going to add to your calories add to your carbs add to your daily intake of whatever it is you're consuming so if you are trying to lose weight and you have a goal and you're trying to hit it and you're trying to do it quick or not quick but you're just trying to really just stay focused then this aisle is off limits Guys these are not the carbs you want to be having so all calories are not created equal you know I told you guys I owe you guys a video on calories which I will do comment down below if you guys really want to see that because I could sit down and really kind of dive deep into calories but all in all anything that is packaged chips crackers anything I don't care if it says healthy I don't care if it says diet I don't care what it says on there if it comes in a package you probably shouldn't be eating it if you really want to hit your goals so just remember stay away from the chips and all the packaged Foods now we're moving on to the fats guys I'm starting off with peanut butter because I am a huge peanut butter lover like I literally had a special spoon for my peanut butter because I used to get really carried away and I'd use like a big spoon and be like oh it's just one spoon it'd really be like three tablespoons on there so I had to move to a smaller spoon I'll tell you a quick story I used to work in LA and there was like a little 99 cent store that opened up nearby and they had these flavored peanut butters for a dollar so I bought like six of them and I promise you I gained like eight pounds in one month because I was eating like a jar a week so all that to say that fats definitely matter and the calories add up so whether it's peanut butter whether it's cheese whether it's your heavy cream half and half creams that you're putting into your coffee into like over your Meats whatever it is sauces all anything that contains like a lot of fat will definitely add up really quickly so you just want to be really mindful of that I'm not saying don't eat it guys I throughout my entire weight loss journey I ate peanut butter I had some cheese I had some sour cream I had some cream cheese but you definitely want to be mindful of it because at the end of the day you can definitely put down like a thousand calories of fat if you're not careful why because you can have 300 calories of peanut butter then oh we're gonna use some butter on you know veggies let's do another two tablespoons and then coffee in the morning oh we're gonna do some some heavy cream and heavy cream is nice and creamy but it's also very calorie dense so at the end of the day you want to use fats kind of like as a lever so if you're making like your veggies and maybe some chicken then you can do a tablespoon of butter or a tablespoon of maybe like some type of sauce or two tablespoons but just be mindful that fats are very calorie dense and at the end of the day even though calories are not everything they definitely matter so just always keep that in mind fats are not the enemy I love peanut butter I love cheese I love everything but I'm just very mindful of it that's all all right guys so when we're trying to lose weight we're on our weight loss Journey you're trying to eat healthy guys you're still going to have cravings it doesn't mean that you're not gonna crave like everything that you typically crave the only difference is that now you have a goal you're trying to stay disciplined and you're trying to be a little more structured with what you're eating so if I'm at a grocery store and I'm trying to be healthy and I'm thinking Myra you have been doing so well don't mess it up then I'm definitely going for strawberries blackberries blueberries raspberries why yes they still contain sugar but they are natural sugars and even at that they are the fruits with the least amount of sugar so if I'm thinking sweet dessert like I'm definitely going for the fruit if I want something still like a little bit more then I might do like a little whipped cream you can do a Cool Whip Cool Whip is very low in calories but it is very you know just have a lot of ingredients that I typically would not approve of you can do like a little yogurt but if you're just like no Myra that is not gonna cut it for me like what else is there pretty much every grocery store will have an ice cream that is clean and low carb remember even if you're not trying to lose weight through low carb you really don't want to be putting sugar into your body because sugar ultimately will turn into fat which of course that's what we're trying to avoid and trying to lose I will show you what they have available here they do carry the rebel so I will pull this guy out here what is this salted caramel so the rebel has one gram of sugar per pint what I will say is that it is calorie dense so 540 calories for this little guy here I'm not saying you would finish the whole thing you're still going to add calories to your day but you can always calculate that guys you can always manipulate having a little dessert having some fruit having a little extra peanut butter um so if you can have extra peanut butter you can have some ice cream the only thing is that if you are eating really clean if you are trying to stay like you know just like really on track then you definitely want to find something that is clean and doesn't have a lot of ingredients like maltodextrin like maltitol like certain ingredients that are going to spike your insulin that are going to make you crave more things so this I'll tell you what they use as a sweetener it's erythritol that is a good sweetener some people do think that it has kind of like a cooling effect but all in all if you are desperate you want something guys they are gonna have something but the best option of them all is for you to prepare for this and have your desserts already made at home I will leave you some of my favorite desserts I have brownies I have cakes I have homemade ice creams they are super clean clean as a whistle you don't have to worry about any of that and you can have it in bulk so save it you have it every time you crave a little something go in there grab it and you're good to go cut out that Sweet Craving and still stay on track and stay clean all right guys so those
