[Music] hi there hope you're having a great week welcome to today's video if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you may have noticed recently somebody got a haircut I don't know really what inspires me at any time but sometimes things just do and I feel like I need a change and so I was feeling the need to go a little bit shorter and I went rummaging through some photos found some things that piqued my interest off to the salon I went and here we are which leads to the topic of today's video and it is a no-fail way to get the hairstyle that you're looking for now let me start off by saying this and I've had a lot of you reach out to me over the years inquiring about different haircuts and people would say well what do you call that what's the name of that style and I'm a little reluctant to just give out a name because this is a long pixie with texturized ends and a lot of piscina surround the nape now if you were to go to a hair salon with that information you are now leaving it up to interpretation and every stylist has a different view as to what it is that I just described and so you may see it one way your stylist may see it another and then you walk out of the salon completely unhappy and then you're mad at me and I can't have that so what I want to do is present to you the way that I go about a change and it's a process you know I'm a journalist and so it is my nature to research and that's what I do so before I go anywhere the first thing that I will do is get on Pinterest my favorite site of all time the catalog of ideas from A to Z hair in the middle I love Pinterest so I just go into the search bar type in what it is that I'm looking for if it's a long pixie if it's PC if it's whatever you type in your keywords and poof images start coming up when I see in that are interesting to me things that I would like to emulate I will then save them into my photos so that I have them on my phone so I will assemble a collage of photos different looks a little bit of a longer version a shorter version then I will find photos that have the hair color that I'm interested in because again I don't want to leave that up to interpretation as well so once I have amassed these photos that have give an idea of what it is that I'm looking for I am then armed and ready to go to the salon now if you've been following me for the past couple of years on this channel you know that I have a couple of dear friends who were in the hair business two of the most extraordinarily talented sweet wonderful human beings that I am so proud to call a friend and I go to Cerrone usually when I'm going for longer looks and I visit a meal at salon or mez when I'm going a little bit shorter so today I went over well not today but a few days ago I went over to a meal salon and I was armed with my photos and my ideas and here's how it all played out [Music] hi hello I love you I love you more I love you most Big Dave thank you cut off her today yeah Danielle is gonna do fabulous highlights yeah but we're gonna do the haircut afterwards okay so we can see to the haircut according to the highlights because it's going to be totally different but she's the kind of woman that even if you shave her head she's dead gorgeous highlights in hi hi I'm Daniel how JEWS I love lies in car light so we're mixing fight colors okay don't try this at home this is the appetizer oh I see okay the mousse looking yeah okay so what colors did we decide on today what we decide you have a kind of light red Brown gray and bloody red [Laughter] [Music] whether it's a lot [Music] [Music] and of course we need to keep volume here on every woman volume less good that's true everybody needs a little lift absolutely so what's your technique well after you do the etching of the cut or you do we do all the lining that you want then you do a lot of slicing to give details to the cut and you go longer longer where you get to the bangs you do either side if you even the bangs out either side you do should go well so you can flip it you're not committed to one side and everyone should do that because if you keep rubbing the same spot your hair is going to get weak on that spot hmm so always switch parts it's always good for your hair and of course after you blow dry it shows what sides are sick thicker than the other mm-hm and then you do a little bit of slicing to even it out accordingly but after you've after blow-drying it makes sense now I'm gonna do a lair taking this angle this way this one would be a bit shorter coming this way right well we still keep length of your hunt yes yeah you can always cut more yeah not that's chance so you take it's gradual I like that conservative approach thank you from the peanut gallery back there what's your favorite haircut to do my favorite haircut is what looks good on that person with the type of hair that she has Danny wants to know why you're not dancing yeah you catch me up on cracks me up no dancing while slicing Danny [Music] if you know this it's left long enough to where he resides you want two years right like it's big Jessie if you do one side your many years right I can slick it all the way back and punt this up right with nice lawn and make the ends real straight a meal although this rain outside is going to kill me yeah but there's something it's an invention called umbrella yeah [Laughter] that colors good all kinds of stuff thank you oh that's awesome that's really good color all around you look you really look fantastic thank you so I can go I can go I can do that I can go back I I get you a slice in the front going at an angle like this now when you decide to do it from this end yeah but you would have even more height right opposite right both right this wind that you flip it 100 see this is good oh look you gave me a highlight over here yeah when I go this way when it Sun this short I think you're missing yeah yeah oh yeah yes are they so cool so what throughout today that goes flat right just run my fingers through the back just like this I love it I think it is just it's wickedly cool dude I know thank you guys so much so so so so cool thank you very very hip and friend oh look at the canvas we have to work much ways you're like a piece of art that you can take everywhere you don't have to hang on walking art yeah I'm water I gotta get back yeah yeah get back to business okay bye [Music]
