we're finally here Costco in Japan I'm so excited right now yudia is g to bring me here I don't know if we SPL the Vlog but we're going to totally Vlog okay looks like your standard Costco got the TVs first got some appliances different types of appliances though let's look at this okay the fridge seems simple enough but one of the things that makes this unique is the drawers see they separated it and we do this in the States but they go to a whole different level you got two different doors here for the fridge this is a pretty big one this is not your standard one you'd find in Tokyo you've got the drawer right here but even the freezer this is just so smart if you want ice they have an ice drawer so you don't have to open the whole freezer oh Nik so this is just for meat which is hella smart and then you're not letting all the air escape and then of course they've got the large bin down here yeah oh vegetables in the freezer oh this is not a freezer freezer whate oh the Freez okay she said the freezer is right here interesting see that's that's a smart because vegetables kind of need a different environment wow I was telling her that I'm so happy to do this because everything we've been doing has been to show family around or host somebody guide somebody be translator this is just purely for me I've been doing a lot of these Vlogs so it's cool that I can just make this Vlog for you guys because I know it's really fun to do Costco Vlogs one more thing I'll point out it's very spacious in here which is not what I was expecting even just the height in Japan everything's way smaller including their buildings ni okay so Yia said Costco is the only place where they do the large packaging or bulk they don't do this at any other store which is kind of obvious that's kind of what Costco is known for but it's Unique okay Yia says she loves this n french fries so French Fri french fried chips [Music] oh beer real real potatoes SK oh oh it's like the real thing she's saying I believe this is a really popular o and I believe they have this at some Costco I don't know but definitely the biggest box of this I've ever seen it's a rice cracker snack basically this is a tempered seaweed is it temp tempor oh both of them are seaweed that's dipped in temporo batter and deep fried that's cool that's different this is the first time I've seen fritolay chips now they've got one that I've never seen in America Pipi of course we've got the Doritos Cheetos Fritos even though they do have bulk here this is way smaller than the American version now to her she thinks this is really big but it's funny in the United States yeah I was telling her we have that bigger size even at a grocery store oh hi she said normally it's maybe half the size I've even seen it smaller than that so this is normal but the packaging is a lot different first off it's got the kind of the it's got the flat base right there and the top what's unique about this is the zip looc this is very common here but we just got this in America IMA uh this is something that you're able to buy basically anywhere but you can get a huge box of it so they have this at 711 grocery stores what's unique is as you would expect huge boxes of it here at Costco yeah this is the first time I've ever seen this size packaging for anything close to this type of a snack or a choc flare candy this is a snack that's very popular for little kids because it's really cheap and they sell this at small candy shops and I guess grandparents are known to give this to their grandchildren different type of flavor these Turtle chips we bought at the waj Maya but this is a sweet vanilla oh uh Turtle chips vanilla no a I talked about this at 7-Eleven and every time I see in the grocery store this is a great gift to give if you're going to go back get this huge box if you buy a Japanese Costco get some of these to bring back because it's probably a better price too as far as I know you can use American Costco membership cards here but correct me if I'm wrong in the comments it's very surprising how similar the Costco here is to America's Costco it looks exactly the same okay I wanted to check out some of the drinks I'm not sure if Sprite has gone through a brand change but this is new to me CH cha cha so yeah it looks different I can see there's some yellow writing down below but has a c hands change in the States because last I saw I don't think it has unless it did definitely looks different there's all these Japanese beers this one's not as popular but it is one that is uh quite common at most bars well I don't want to say most bars but Orion Orion Odon this is from Okinawa this is a company that's popular from there so yudia has ties to Okinawa and she was saying all the different ingredients of the beer comes from the islands of Okinawa so that's one thing that makes it special the real reason I started vlogging this area is because I didn't think I would see Budweiser but here you go even in Japan they've got Budweiser I have not seen this in the grocery stores or I wonder if it's because it's a Costco and there's Americans and foreigners shopping here that they have this my favorite champagne they've got it but let's see what the price difference is so this is 2,998 Yen what does that equate out to right now I'm not sure I think it's just about the same it's not that much different probably 18 to 20 bucks telling you most underrated product in my opinion one of the most and definitely for Booze their Champagnes legit okay this is the craziest thing it smells the same as a Costco bakery here buttery Heavenly I don't know why but this packaging is a little unusual it's just a big plastic bag of buns they're three cookie pack is a little bit different we have chocolate chip butterscotch oh tofe KN so this is a toffee flavor uh strawberries and white chocolate we don't have that either oh dang okay I just noticed this Einstein Bagels wow if you miss home just come to Costco a medic gun all so I what I was just saying to to her is the croissants are much smaller here look how you guys already know these would be way bigger there wouldn't be as many and it's like a flatter packaging so that is definitely interesting tiramisu pretty standard you probably can find this I don't know if it's around all year but you know what we don't have delicious strawberry short cakes look at this I wonder if it's because it's strawberry season or or all year C it all year Im so she's saying this is just right now look at that Strawberry Shortcake that does look hella good this is Japanese and American strawberries which is very unusual because why would you do that but now that I look at it oh okay anyway so that's interesting that she pointed that out and she saw that because it's strawberry season why would you need to get strawberries from America but maybe it's a pricing or I don't know this is definitely unique I kind of knew this would be the case thinly sliced beef but one thing that is really incredible about Japan is look at this marbling ABA n [Music] Aban oh Yamagata y she's saying this is a black haired cow or cattle wow wow this is for Shabu Shabu in Suki oi oi I was saying if I use this for gon it'd be awesome but this is pretty standard you guys this is not even whack oh is this wagu wagu oh it is A4 wagu what the heck okay that would be way more expensive in the states 85 wagu for gon wow chicken is just chicken but the packaging is what's interesting so here's a packaging for wings I think drets they have all the different kinds of cuts the whole chicken the chicken does kind of look a little bit different but I don't know for sure this is their boneless skinless breast I'm not really as interested in the actual meat it looks very similar it's just the packaging the packaging is she's saying this is a type of chicken in Japan the Sakura chicken so I didn't know that so good thing she's here to give us a tour you're like my tour guide my Costco tour guide yeah you're doing a good job thank you so much I wouldn't know half this stuff as much as I'm here to see the differences I'm also curious about what's the same naturally because this transports pretty easily parmesan many Ono uh parmesan yes so this is unusual cottage cheese is not the same kind of cotted cheese it almost feels dry it's not as wet and it's chunky oh look at that wow so all this cheese is from Hokkaido she said and this right here this specific Hana han han bjo this is a brand that's popular in haidos so all this cheese and that's the northern part of Japan known for cheese and farms and milk something that's very Japanese and correct me if I'm wrong I don't think I've ever seen seaweed salad this is popular in the States but you wouldn't normally find it at a Costco this is a lot I don't know if I would eat this much seaweed where I would need it maybe for a party this would be a nice thing to get black beans I don't even know what this would be for let me know if you're Japanese what would you eat this with I want to ask you yet but I'm kind of curious what you guys would say that is for oh is this Nat Nat natural and organic Nat wow and not frozen yeah the the flavor is so much different when you get it fresh so if you're ever in Japan definitely try it if you can get not do this is fermented soybeans that's not frozen totally worth it because it's definitely different I just spotted something that everybody knows about rotisserie chicken I wonder if they're using a Japanese chicken or American chicken so this is from a Ramen producer or a famous maybe Ramen company and they make this pork right bua this is a cured or a marinated pork that is pretty cool I've seen this on Amazon and of course you can get it at legit places uh Oki cono okay I just told her this is the first time I've ever seen this this is uh shirano ham similar to pido not exact but you can get the whole stand I remember Papa got this and it was just sitting on their counter forever and I actually cut myself when I was trying to cut it being all fancy it comes with a knife too which is interesting oh hako she was saying this is about a 100 bucks which is like that's a steal that's a good price I don't normally buy this section but it is interesting to see the different types of foods here in Japan hashed beef beef stew looks way more fancy than anything I've ever seen oh hu um so this is what I ate the other day okay so it's precooked but yeah eat that with rice so this is pork and cheese you know what what we saw this in Korea Town yeah this is a Korean food doesn't this just look hella delicious bam I would totally eat that okay so this is interesting whole chicken pot dinner or something maybe I don't know what do you do with this you just cook the whole Chi oh is the chicken in there I think the chicken maybe this for chicken soup chicken soup so you can buy this throw it all in a pot and there you go you got chicken soup look at this this is definitely different look at that all kinds of seafood in there same thing put it into a pot and you got dinner really healthy Hearty dinner all the ingredients are in there so this is amiso tonu SOA there's noodles down there I don't know if you can see it underneath that looks hella good it's interesting talking to her and just hearing from her what she surprised is not normal for us us and then what's what's normal for us that she thinks would not be normal over there chicken quesadillas we wouldn't ever have it this chunky but yeah they have chicken quesadillas here chopped up chicken with cheese ready to go but it wouldn't look like this this is interesting and definitely different even though it's something pretty common in the states in terms of people eating oh I've seen this in other Costco of Japan videos on YouTube Sushi you can get a whole platter and I'm pretty sure this is way better than the stuff I get because even the stuff I get just kind of passes but it's not really that good look at that oh my gosh I could get down with this if I had a party for everybody I would totally order this and I bet you it' be as good as most sushi places in the States this is chashi and this is Zushi anyways there's rice underneath it I ate this at my family's place they eat this on celebrations or c ceremonies sushi roll different options there and then you've got poke this is becoming more common in the states in terms of selling at Costco but looks like they have this here probably a lot salmon cavier that's what it's named here that's kind of a lot she's asking if I like it I would say it's just too much for me she saying Japanese people love it so they'll put a lot on the rice okay this is definitely something you would never see oyster whoa that's a lot of scallops look at this WOW octopus got the whole thing and then they got the giant ones these are pre grilled already H oh she's saying this is from Hokkaido the northern part where Seafood is very popular lots of shrimp I vlogged so much here that my DJI just died on me and thank God oh by the way my other battery died too because I've been vlogging all day so I have to use my phone now okay now they call it sardines back in the States they called this anchovies maybe it is anchovies maybe there's different types of this fish but I grew up eating this with soy sauce but look how big this is this I've never seen it this large the whole fish wow mackerel so Japan is known for Fuji apples Fuji Ali oh oh Fuji demo okay this is a way nicer Fuji than I've ever seen in the States but yeah oh oh Z Fuji this is all Fuji apples okok oi super normal avocados looks exactly the same zenzen Tomatoes basic nothing fancy about these in fact I would say they look like the states nothing like what you would normally Buy in Japan so normally you buy these in one packs but you can get a four pack of this myi mushrooms Japanese people love their mushrooms look at this even more mushrooms over here um hi a I've never seen this mushroom before looks like a oyster mushroom I wonder if that is oyster mushroom so I guess the reason why Japanese people like myis is because it doesn't have too much of a mushroom smell but the the flavor is nice and subtle so that's why they use it a lot I showed you guys when I made yakis SOA or Curry they're carrots oh organic she said it's organic the shape of these are just so unusual I don't know why they're like that where do these carrots come from Kon um pendes oh so she thinks it's because of the dirt yeah type and the type yeah huh interesting one thing I wish we could have done is gone to a farmer's market that would have been awesome but probably not the right season and I'm not complaining I've had an amazing time here especially here at this Costco so they probably don't call these Japanese sweet potatoes because we're in Japan Japanese sweet potato I was explaining to her this is called Japanese sweet potatoes in America but here is just regular okay you don't ever see this a huge pack of eggplants they do love their egg plants there's so many good dishes with eight plants here so I'm in the refrigerated section vegetables fruits they just got a big box of cabbage here but look at this whoa Nelly dang I'm some Miracle Grow for this dyon more cabbage they do love their cabbage they use it for a lot of dishes shiitake mushrooms standard I bet these are more flavorful though wao I told you they love their mushrooms look at this literally mushrooms there mushrooms there lots of mushrooms this Brandon is Zach I told her I'm going to buy this I'm going to eat the whole thing in the car literally by myself because I haven't had blueberries and I'm kind of craving it right now this is unusual a call you n no Nei so this is uh green onions since it's different type but this is very common here I told her we don't have this at all it's very standard now this I've had funny enough at an Okinawa Restaurant I believe C asparagus actually you know what beich beu w beach beach w Washington so I think we have C asparagus and I ate this right off the beach once so interesting they sell it it's not the right season it's the right season though here in Japan because look at these strawberries totally the right season here way more red it's just funny so the other day I brought my friend June what I thought was mangoes but these are sweet potatoes dry sweet potatoes anyway so yeah dried sweet potatoes I would never imagine eating sweet potatoes as a snack but here they're so sweet so I guess if you dry them this way turns it into a snack now these are some Japanese tomatoes tomato something that's definitely different about Japan they have all kinds of soy sauces less salt but then you've got this this is not soy sauce you oh yeah so this has a flavor and it's almost kind of like a stock like a seaweed stock mix with soy sauce if I could describe it I don't know if it's exactly that oh Dashi in a box that's cool she said there's already a lot of flavor in this mamy yeah she said it's very delicious the other day I was looking for the cheese that my grandmother used to give to me it's right here this is the brand it's really good there's a couple different Wheels eat that with some toast amazing something very familiar to our family mango nectar the packaging is a little bit different but I'm guessing this tastes the exact same another thing that's popular here is grape juice speaking of something I grew up with this sausage right here unique and the skin is really tight so when you bite into it kind of Pops it's really good I love eating that for breakfast especially at hotels they always have that this one too I think this is maybe a different type of pork but all these definitely try then you got your BRS Johnsonville of course you can find this in the states very common cheddar ones too it's cool to see the side by side of something you can get in America that's very common to us and then something that's completely foreign and especially if it's something I've never seen before being side to side cuz I wonder what would be fascinating to a Japanese person when they go to Costco there what tell me if you are Japanese if you've ever been to an American Costco what was it that kind of blew your mind or something that was a little bit different Japanese Fried Chicken they marinate the chicken meat and soy sauce maybe garlic and ginger and then they deep fry it with the batter of course and it's super flavorful the same onaji um hagendaz the same except I've never seen strawberry before this exactly the same U Judy toi my N I said every day but we ooh this is oh just vanilla it says packaging is kind of different do we have this I don't know I don't buy it so Frozen potatoes Japanese sweet potatoes I'm sure we've got this somewhere but churos are really popular in Japan you can actually get tros at Disneyland here in Tokyo so there's so much more I want to Vlog all these aisles I'm passing I haven't even been in I didn't scratch the surface well I did kind of scratch the surface but I didn't get everything and I I probably miss about a third and all these snacks over here but I want to I don't want to take up too much of times I want to get going I'm going to have to come back to Japan but I'll tell you this this was pretty cool cool I'm going to go to the food court show you some of the last things that are different and then I can't wait to come back that was really cool let me know what was the most fascinating thing that I vlogged here at Costco in the comments All right so we're here at the food court and there's some differences and similarities mixed fruit bowl definitely different I'm surprised even that they have bananas in there strawberry smoothie I think we do have that hazelnut chocolate soft cream yeah that's different but we do have the swirl swirl I believe clam chowder looks good it's funny because that doesn't look like clam chowder it looks more like a seafood chowder of course the hot dog 180 Yen that's really cheap that's really cheap okay a shrimp KATU Burger wo Nelly that's delicious looking that does look delicious chicken stick and potato okay but kids love that and then they've got the pizza now the one big difference we don't have Supreme anymore we just have the pepperoni and cheese and way over there will GOI bake chicken bake except with that Asian flare I didn't want to buy a drink so I just asked for water and he said oh it's over to the side and so I was expecting either a vending machine like in the states for bottle water or maybe a water dispenser and I couldn't find it I just realized this is what he was talking about just a random water felon which probably doesn't get used very much but this is what I'm going to drink from not ideal I'm not going to complain can't remember the last time I drank out of water F oh was so thirsty that's it's kind of weird I'll tell you that is unusual not to have a water option I even looked at the soda machines there was a wasn't a water button that is strange America thanks for the free water button on the soda machine another observation look how they Park all their carts in an orderly line so it's not just a hot mess like us in the states that is interesting there's no lines or anything but they parked it in a way where it's more manageable yeah that's Japan for you so organized look this is interesting unfinished drink ice not only do you dump in a separate trash can they filter the ice so just in case there's something in it it doesn't go below so I'm guessing there's a tank down there combustibles which I'm guessing is this things that can just burn because they burn all their trash here and then they got the plastic and then combustibles the societal discipline is amazing is that the right term I don't know it's just it's cool you would hope we could do that too one day maybe aspire to that but we don't do these kind of things in the states okay thank you MOS okay here we go shrimp KATU Burger let's look at this bad boy wow okay looks like they've got some kind of cabbage Co saw thing going on maybe with a spicy sauce little Patty obviously of the KATU the shrimp KATU okay let's just try this okay shrimp KATU Burger M mhm mhm oh yeah would this do well in the stakes I think it might will they put in every Costo no subscribe from our videos comment below what was the coolest thing that you saw here at this Costco I'll see you later
