yes the long way ends here you wanted to see how i cut my hair at home here we go the very first thing i do is parting my hair right in the middle and separate the top section above my ear then it should look like this looking from the back now pass those sections to the front and then determine your desired length i think i'm going for nipple height and then grab a small section from the back of your head and cut it to the length that you want it after you repeat this on the opposite side just make sure that they're in the same length if you mess it up here it will be uneven at the end and you'll have to repeat the steps all over so keep that in mind okay that's about right let's move on so it is time to unleash my hidden technique i don't have a name for it but we're using gravity yes you heard it right we're using gravity to cut my hair listen up guys it's crucial that you make a 90 degree angle here i think this is the easiest and simplest way to create subtle layers [Music] why 90 degrees great question when you look at this from a lateral view the origin of individual hair varies while you're bending forward and 90 degrees to let your hair fall down from the side of your face cut your hair parallel to the floor this will allow you to create layers when you're back to an upright position due to the fact that every hair has different attachment points all right sorry for being so cringy but that's the logic behind this technique anyways let's continue so this is the small section that will cut to the nipple height before and we're going to use this as a reference point cutting your hair while you're in obtuse angle position will cause less layers acute angle will cause more layers so you can kind of customize your layering by changing the angle in theory but it's gonna be more challenging i guess then why am i doing this well this is me giving my full respect to all the hairdressers out there as you can tell already i am not a professional hairdresser by any means so if you want a decent haircut go find a local hairdresser that's the best way but if you are not able to get professional help due to covet or any other reason this might be an option but don't call me on this if you have bad knees or hip joints you can just pull your hair parallel to the floor and cut it perpendicular to the floor you see the layers that's what we're creating right now now we are going to work on the upper section pull down half of the upper section and repeat the same thing the reference point will be your bottom section that you've already worked on okay can you see that i'm pointing my scissors up a little bit when i'm cutting it's called point cutting and it basically helps your sections blend out better layers are created but that looks blunt so let's make them blend a little bit better by point cutting further basically i grab a section that looks heavy and blunt and thin it out until i'm happy with it of course do the same thing on the other side then we're gonna be working on the final section at this point i was too tired of standing up and bending forward so i'm just gonna finish the job sitting down since we've caught the majority of our hair already we have a sort of framework to follow i'll be cutting this section following an imaginary tangent line from the previous cut i'm gonna finish up with making very subtle and long curtain bangs to frame my face so what i'm doing is taking a little triangular section and comb it through in front of my face and then cut them to the chin length then thin it out by point cutting the section now i'm taking a bigger triangular section and starting to cut off the edges to create a slanted line hoping this will blend in with the previous section then it will look like this this is basically how i trim my dead ends and have a little bit of layers but not too much i don't want too much layers because i've lost so much hair from bleaching over the ears this method has allowed me to keep my length and prevent me from looking like golem with too much layers if this makes sense anyways this is it it only takes about 15 minutes i'm happy with the result alright so i hope you find this brief tutorial helpful stay safe and healthy until i see you next time alright bye you
