Hostage girlfriend calls for help in pizza order

a plea for help in the form of a pizza order now at 11:00 how a woman held hostage in her own home taking an extraordinary gamble to save the lives of herself and her children good evening everyone I'm Jamis Muller and I'm Wendy Ryan thanks for joining us a man allegedly holding his girlfriend and their three kids hostage was expecting pizza but police came knocking instead or Clifton French joins us live in Avon yeah that woman being held hostage was kept away from her phone for the entire Dame was only able to use it to order a pizza for the family now using an app just like this one right here she was able to get the help she needed it said it's a way for people to give directions about how their pizzas should be made but on Monday at this Pizza Hut nave on Park a call for help I mean I've been with the company for 28 years and I've never seen nothing like that come through candy Hamilton was the manager on duty her cook saw the message then they quickly called the sheriff's office I think it was the boyfriend never knew about him taste salts coming on the corner less than a block away from that Pizza Hut deputies say this man he --then Nickerson was holding his girlfriend and their three children hostage he had a knife an argument about his drug use so led to physical abuse then using a large knife he refused to let his girlfriend leave the home when deputies arrived the mother ran to them with a baby in her arms Nickerson still inside with two children his first words of course I'm not coming out because I know I'm going to jail 20 minutes of negotiations lieutenant Curtis London talked to Nickerson out of the home peacefully and took him to jail everyone's safe thanks to technology and the workers at this local pizza joint if we didn't have that I used to say how she could have could have got out now tonight Dickerson is facing several felony charges he's being held on a $45,000 bod that woman proving there's more than one way to call for help I'm reporting live in Highland County Clifton French ABC Action News
