[Music] okay so far what I've done is I got a piece of 12 L 14 which cuts to like butter it's great machinability [Music] so I'm trying to make an end mill holder that doesn't register the nose I'll explain there later so basically I have to machine a three centimeter or thirty millimeters of shank for the TTS call it and then some sort of registering face that registers the collet face not the spindle nose so and then I have to bore this this particular holder will be holding a 10 millimeter ID tools so I'm gonna have to go under 10 microns or 15 microns or so and then heat it and then insert the tool and then fix it with a grub screw so that way I have a basically no run out that that is caused by this holder so I want this order to be perfect so now I'm going to do a drilling operation [Music] going to the senator drill first always so the last video I did I made what was it the boring head connector I made that material out of some weird steel that was gummy and hard to machine [Music] but I did the kind of good job but I wasn't satisfied with first surface finish and precision it's just the material I think it's just either my machine is not good enough for the material but I think my machine I think it's due to the material so I'm gonna for in the from now I'm gonna make precision parts from 12 of 14 only maybe aluminum but still is 2.5 stronger than steel steel is 2.5 stronger than aluminum so I try to make my tools out of Steel if I can [Music] so let's say 50 millimeters [Music] I mean in this machine so well oh my god it's like butter it's like it's even better than aluminum because aluminum is kind of gummy this circus written the only I say downside is the lead inside the steel but I'm not gonna eat and I'm gonna clean it well so it's a health hazard but I've heard people in the forum they've been machining this stuff for years in decades they had no problem whatsoever so Oh I'm not using this stuff like all the time this is not my job it's just hobby 12 of 14 is the dream material for moonshot machinist and this stuff is good [Laughter] [Laughter] what I usually do in order to drill easier i usually trade a drill all around two or three centimeters into the part and then i widen the hole and then repeat the prior process again that way if if you drill deeper and deeper it sort of catches up on the side like the wall of the ID so I have to get rid of that by drilling with a bigger hole so I was filling with seven point nine now I will drill nine okay [Music] [Music] oh and about the glove yeah it is dangerous to use clothes because or on any spinning objects you will catch and suck your own mother tear out your finger and whatever one thing you can do though is where to not one say one two and because it is slippery against each other when and the first glove the other glove catches it just pulls out the outer glove on not the inner because when you feel that something is sucking your arm up you tend to pull back and that pulling back will only make the outer glove get soft and not your inner glove this is one thing you can do I try not to wear any gloves or any latex gloves rubber gloves and it's just so so uncomfortable and your hands get messy steel particles get trapped under your fingernail and you eat with it and it's just so unpleasant [Music] [Laughter] I'm feeling too much resistance I have gone in 40 40 mils I'm gonna change the bit back to nine and then try to widen it [Music] what [Music] [Laughter] I think I reached the end but I'll check one more time yeah [Laughter] 7.9 [Music] 2030 40s [Music] if I have to approach to tour his [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's happened [Laughter] and 50 [Laughter] so this is - I'm gonna be playing in there in nine millimeter and male [Music] something like I want minimal stick out from the spindle so I get the greatest which is rigidity okay so the trailing is complete now I got to decide how deep I'm going to bore so who else doesn't have to be very very accurate but within a millimeter so I want to leave some space at the end I don't want to bore all the way through 15 millimeters because I want the tool to touch the end of the enemy holder so it doesn't like slip inside when you machine hard it's just going to go in something like this leave some space at the end I'm gonna have to pour forty two males I'll leave three meals at the end so I think three three is enough exactly forty it's not the ideal though actually this is not good I'm gonna have to make the registering face I'll get dinner than this this is too much so spindle will be right here and it sticks out this much that kind of defeats the purpose of what I'm doing so I'm gonna have to make it register here closer at the end and the stick that will be only 45 but this is still a lot better than TTS TTS sticks out like this much seven or eight this will already increased the rigidity by almost about libellous and tote two folds so four to four forty millimeters and I'm gonna have to use a micro boring bar for this change the tool [Music] I'm definitely gonna have to make a TTA I mean quick change topples this is way too difficult to use especially if we have a lot of tools so this is a very very small boring bar the minimum boring in a diameter for this bow is only five five mils zero on the Dro okay I forgot to set we go so I'm going to take measurements but I'm going to chamfer first am i used to I used to just measure right away after boring but I often get wrong measurements because of the purr at the edge now is chamfered years [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] let's aim for nine point nine five nine point nine five and lock the saddle okay [Music] [Music] and by 9/5 [Music] [Music] okay the internal diameter should be nine point nine eight millimeters of Shaffer d7 [Music] so I've done the boring I'm going to Machine Shaffer yes [Music] [Music] you know what I'm gonna do something clever [Music] this is so easier and the chipra king beautiful no curly chips strange there my machine can do reverse turning because the driving mechanism and the spindle motor is separate because I built I built the autofit auto feed and this material is just dream material so easy to machine the result of perfect decision parts [Music] [Applause] [Applause] that should be enough I'm at 20 millimeters I'm aiming for nineteen point zero five which is 3/8 3/4 of an inch TTS shank size not the saddle okay looks pretty good [Music] now that I make a very strange face so I'm just going to use a cut-off tool since I don't have a left hand tool maybe later I'll make a left hand rule but I'm just gonna get by with this cutoff tool [Music] [Music] I think I missed some of the parts machining part my battery died just popped in a new one I successfully machine the face that registers the TTS call it now I'm going to cut off this tool [Applause] well well well well at this [Music] so I've done all the machining on the lathe I'm a nun over at the mill I'm going to machine to m6 screws I'm going to use two grub screws to further fix the tool into place so it doesn't budge I'm going to send it back side of your purse five whole for the m6 tap [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] got the heater set up heat just tool up try to fit the end mail inside reading around 265 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius let's try the whole metal was changing color to sort of slightly dark brown color it looks really cool okay gotta be quick crap oh crap it's not easy huh well I was supposed to just slide in but didn't [Music] slam this end oh it worked okay I think I got it turned blue fortunately removing the enemy won't be too difficult because there's you can tap it out from the back I just realized the grub screw where the set screw might be too long oh gosh if this is too long I have to get sure I think it's going to be too long yeah so a machine down the screws now they have become a tiny tiny grub screws I've removed two Mills from each side so I removed four it's a small thing to work with Oh got a crank so the first one fit in easily for the second one I had grinder because it became squashed the thread became squashed you know it fits say two set screws from each side plus induction feeling sort of huh I think I'm done so I've cleaned up some burrs on the lathe with a sponge sandpaper it looks pretty good now let's compare it with the original as you can see it's much much shorter so what TTS system does is this face registers the the spindle nose so the tool extension this far I'm going to measure that so the tool it's exchanging 95 millimeters so 99 95 millimeters from the spindle nose you're basically having a very long end mill sticking out of your spindle let's see this one 45 so 95 versus 45 50 millimeters shorter I'm going to test this but I'm sure rigidity will increase a lot I still do wish that I could have shortened this all the way up here now I'm going to compare the two first TTS 95 millimeters I'm going to test my tool it registers the color instead still won't have as accurate repeatability as to torment ETS but I'm not going to see SC [Music] I'm gonna do some test cut s 45 carbon steel this stuff is not easy this is pretty tough stuff especially if you don't have a big sized mill my machine is um 230 kilograms by weight so it is in the category of minimal mini meal but still it's quite strong for a mini me it's right on the boundary of the mid-sized industrial type machines now let's take test cut well I just know this is not only the tool is shorter but the Z is all the way down so it's a two-fold upgrade not only the tools shorter but the Z is lower so you get less of a column bending effect [Music] it's doable but my machine whines of it I don't want to upset the neighbors below but let's try 1.5 I think what I want is a quiet performance that doesn't strain the machine I don't have to go fast I think my tow truck you know the toll dropped oh the call it dropped then tiny hard enough I'll have to retry that you
