i'm anna and i work in healthcare i was born in guyana south america and i went to england when i was 11 years old my name is barbara i'm anna's sister we lived in england for about 20 years and then we moved to florida you know i never thought that we'd have a hoarder in the family but she disguised it very well i'm natasha and anna is my mom i come from a family that's prettiest dude for them to deal with someone who has a hoarding issue is something that they would never want to deal with went right period natasha's been away for many years and she came back to florida with her three children needing some help i said my oldest daughter's knocked on the door but she would not allow my daughter to come in when i opened the door and i saw that might automatically close my door initially i tried to talk to my mom to get her to allow me into her home [Music] we got more and more suspicious and so it was a collaboration between myself and my niece we decided that we were going to go into her home i'm not going to implicate myself and say how but we did enter the house first thing that came to my mind was run oh my god everything was packed up to the ceiling seemed like two mountains on each side and a little valley in the middle to walk my neighbor called me while i was working she said there are people at your home i said call the police what made me mad is that they broke into my home that pissed me off royally i considered their approach somewhat abusive i wanted the help but i did not want their condemnation why are you living in this condition this is truly an abominable state you've gotten yourself into [Music] my name is claire and i'm a retired millwright now as we approach the house i've left things go it's not very nice it's cluttered with magazines and books and i need to retrieve those things [Music] i'm dean and i'm clairson police responded came out he figured he had the legal right to the paper actor and he blamed me he said how can you let your mother live like this he put me in the back of the squad car and took me to columbia hospital they told me at the hospital it was for alcoholics and drug addicts and i did not fit that class and they released me i'm allowed to return to my home each day to clean and feed my animals once i am done cleaning i must leave for my mom to get back inside the house the whole inside has to be cleaned up bushes have to be cut down the pool needs to be cleaned out yesterday i picked up a certified letter that stated i have 10 days to clean up everything if i don't get the house cleaned up the next time you take me to jail i'm denise and i'm dean's girlfriend one of the neighbors has a nickname for they call her slumdog millionaire because she has a beautiful home with the pool and lives like she's in the slums dean gets very upset when i do not clean the house we end up to the point sometimes where we stand and crush at each other she's not some little old lady that you can push around she's the one who does the pushing around i do get angry when people throw away my things i i truly need them [Music] i'm ron and i own triple a photo fest we're the largest used camera dealer south of new york city probably the number one item i sell is a prostate tee the reason we have supplements is a person brings cameras in that are not working correctly we repair the cameras the people aren't working correctly we got supplements to make them work correctly my name is lisa and ron is my friend when you first walk in you're not sure what the shop is about there's just so much to look at i have cameras from 1906. i have medium formats to large formats i have graphics i have leicas i have 6x7s i have video cameras walk around and do wilderman and just say wow [Music] i'm linda ron's sister the last time i had seen his shop it was quite disorganized boxes on top of boxes camera pieces vitamins my name name's trish i'm ron's wife in our home i was constantly moving stuff and organizing it for him and then i realized hey we don't have any room here there's something wrong we have too much stuff when i started to suggest to him that we needed to start getting rid of some stuff to make some more space um he had kind of a strong reaction he would make me feel bad and i felt bad when he made me feel bad about it and then my mother called me and she was really sick and she needed me to come up and stay with her and i decided to stay in tennessee with them when i left i asked ron if he would come with me and he asked me how he could possibly leave all of the stuff behind and i said if you love me you can come and stay with me i was extremely upset very very upset she was my dream girl and hoping she'll be back i think ron chose his stuff over me if he's still choosing his stuff over me then we're not going to be able to have a relationship you know you scratch your head and you wonder how is this guy doing business i would hate to think that he would lose
