HILARIOUS Mother Takes on Stand Up Comedy | Auditions | Australia's Got Talent

my name is Emma Kraus I'm 42 I'm a teacher I'm here to do some stand-up comedy and I'm just myself my routine is all about being a mom and and having kids and I had twins and you know I went through phases where I wasn't coping I joined what's called a multiple birth group and we would just make each other laugh to feel better and I thought it'd be nice to be able to do that for other women hi girls how are ya that's good I'm at Australia's Got Talent and I'm about to go on stage [Music] yeah starting it's got Tallinn is a really big deal this is definitely the biggest stage I've ever performed so I am really nervous you're putting yourself on the line aren't you what are you so nervous about I'm just forgetting something yeah I was on stage once and I totally forgot what I was gonna say and I just stood there like a stunned mullet like definitely willing to have a go but doesn't usually always go to plan hi what's your name my name's Emma hi Emma where are you from I'm from Perth what do you do for a living I'm a teacher by day but at night I often do stand-up comedy and how did you get started in stand-up comedy ah I think it's it's all about being a mom and a wife and kind of telling that story yeah it's a lot of comedy in there well Emma from W eh it is really nice to be here yeah I am a mum I'm actually a mother of twins yeah thank you Gemma and Jessica yeah jimm I used to sleep during the day and Jessica used to sleep during the night so Allah I found that coffee and alcohol kind of became like the two bookends of my day I'm well aware do you know that you can't solve all your problems using alcohol but let's face it waters not going to help you either is it you know I I drink white wine but on a Saturday night like I mix it up a bit like how I get on my wine and I put it in the SodaStream turns it into champagne some nights you know like I overdo it a bit and even I'll say to myself come on Emma you can't keep drinking like this and then this other part of me will go now I don't listen to her she's drunk so so alcohol helped me and and I used to confide in my friends like I used to tell my friend Jenny how tired I actually was and and Jenny would say to me oh ma you just need to get you twins to sleep at the same time ya know Agatha Christie I'm not saying that I hate Jenny but if we were both being chased by a lion I'd push her over Jenny's always saying to me oh ma yeah I want you ate so I think Jenny I had a really annoying cow thank you oh I'm sorry glad you're doing this you know I'm a mom Terry and yeah if you don't laugh you're gonna cry that's Tommy it's time we told the truth yes [Music] Anna you need to keep doing this because cuz you do it very very very well hi hello you dark teacher mom yeah I'll be out of a joke see ya I loved you Emma I loved your dry dark sense of humor I also loved a good drink as well so anytime you want to have a drink I'd love to have one hi the subject that you you've just used these it's it's it's so true but you made it funny and an aha and the factory did eyes is brilliant and I'd love to hear a little bit more of you yes son start the vote and I'm gonna start with the yes - yes a a friend Jenny's not gonna be very happy because you got another yes [Applause] that's my type of humor oh well you going out for a drink with Nicole today yeah yeah we got a potty
