Hermitcraft 8 | Ep 08: TIME TO PLAY SOME TEGG!

what's going on everyone my name is impulse and welcome back to hermitcraft oh it is nice to be back on the server just got home from a short trip to visit some family and yeah i am back here getting my levels back and we lost them last episode so oh we're up to 488 not bad i'm trying to get to 500 i think that'd be a nice round number to get to but while i was gone we actually had a hermit ask us hey do you have gold for sale and remember when i said well i was going to use the gold for bartering we built the big bartering system you know i've been thinking about it maybe there actually is a demand for gold so maybe we should go through and gather up all of our gold here that we've been collecting and you know make a shop today i had some other plans that we're gonna get to as well we can't forget about the yes wings club of course gonna have to meet up with wells later and we got some building to do but we might as well try to cash in on this gold while we have it so i think i'm gonna get back to my base and try to find a location i got a shop idea in mind that i think it's gonna be pretty cool um hello can i fly lag this is us now this is this is us now i'm not sure what's going on here but i'm gathering some supplies for the shop build and hmm cub fans dropping by oh oh this is powdered snow baby oh oh oh am i gonna die in there oh yes oh what has he got oh my goodness powdered snow you got some finally huh i got some and i'm setting up a powder snow collective oh okay i'm wondering what does that mean so basically i'm gonna we're gonna set up an area or i've already set up part of the area but we're setting up an area where anybody can get powdered snow from at any time for any reason oh okay so what you're gonna have like a bunch of cauldrons just out collecting it at all times or what exactly yeah exactly there's a bunch of cauldrons out there if you need something just stop by that area nice all right so what you you're uh what are you selling passes to this collective or how are you doing this uh so you'll get access if you just donate uh as many cauldrons as you can like just just donate donate some cauldrons and be a part of it you know iron is goes into cauldrons and yeah iron is pretty expensive so come down you just need uh come down here and stuff get this going okay coming down look what i have look what i have look at this look for real how cool is this powdered snow we could do stuff with this i gotta find a good place for this we'll keep it in here for now and anyway yeah we were able to contribute all the iron because oh yeah while i was gone the iron was collecting up in here and i think uh maybe a few hermes or maybe well stopped by pulled a few iron from the chest and i cleaned it out as well when i just got back so we've got a lot of iron this little tiny iron farm is producing but i gotta get back to business um i know i said i wasn't gonna use a lot of quartz this season we're gonna use a little bit of quartz in this build it's gonna look good all the materials required to build this shop have been acquired so that means there's only one thing left to do let's get building well this is an awkward transition you see usually after a time lapse i'll come back and show you guys the final product but after i got done building this one i decided to afk at the gold farm so that we could get some gold to stock this shop and as you can see somehow i died um i'm not sure how i'm gonna i had replay mod running i'm gonna have to check and see what happened but we got ourselves up to 589 levels before we did which at least means we have some gold and luckily for me i put my stuff away in a chest as i was afk but ah levels lost once again i have no idea how this happened oh i missed my elytra hopefully it's up there in the chest this is kind of mesmerizing though safe and sound well we might as well check and see how much gold we got not bad not bad let's see these should definitely be filled up perfect okay so we're gonna have to do some crafting of course but oh this is nice in fact i'm gonna take these ingots right now and drop them into the pigment bartering system because we're also going to sell blackstone so i want to make sure i get some piglen barton going so that we have plenty of that to sell as well ah the lovely sound of pigments in the morning oh my goodness i couldn't help myself so while i was doing some bartering i decided to check the replay mod footage to find out how i died and even though i thought it wasn't possible apparently it is a magma cube spawned and of course it found its way over to me and because the top is open on this thing yeah it was able to jump right in and kill me and there we go that's how i lost 589 levels levels lost aside it was still a successful afk session because we got this blackstone and i crafted some gold blocks and now we can go stock our new shop so here it is finally after the time lapse you get to see it here in person and i made a hot air balloon i've been looking at what all the other hermits are doing of course we've got or i should say all the the bottom peeps are doing we've got the wax wagon here the that scar has going on he's got this whole wagon deal and then now we've got pearl opening a shop that is a boat and so there's this whole vehicle theme going on i'm not sure what that is still we got this whole vehicle theme going on and i thought you know what we could do a hot air balloon and it's a bit devious as well because if you want to get up to it you got to have wings so you know people in the no wings club they they might be tempted to actually fly up to this if they need gold or black stone i mean yeah they could pillar up but that seems pretty tedious right to do that so yeah maybe we'll entice some more people to join the yes wings club because you know this shop is up in the air so pretty big brain move on my part i'd say but i've been stocking this we've got some gold i'm gonna go one diamond for 16 blocks i think that's a fair price we'll put a little bit more in here not all the way stocked just yet but uh one diamond for two stacks of blackstone also seems pretty fair if you ask me and um yeah it's kind of tucked away up above their heads which is pretty cool so we got gold in there there they're almost full and i gotta get this one full so we got some more crafting to do with the gold but uh this is good enough there's only one thing left to do for the shop other than finishing stock that is and that is it needs a name and i've been racking my brain trying to come up with a good pun and i can't come up with one i know i'm ashamed for shame oh i can't come up with okay so i need your help i need your help please come up with a name i mean it doesn't have to be based on the fact that we sell gold and black stone uh something to do with a hot air balloon or something like that might be cool looks like pearl's down underground they're doing something but yeah if you guys come up with anything a good pun we gotta stick with the puns of course if you guys come up with anything drop a comment please you'll be my comment mvp if you can come up with a name and i can use it next episode we can hopefully find something good so anyway that's enough for the shop for today i need to um i need to get in on this tag action i haven't done anything with the tag just yet and i believe last known person to have it is iskall which terrifies me because this cow's pretty smart and he's i think gonna hide it really well so i'm gonna try anyway this may be an epic fail but i'm gonna try to find the egg oh yeah we still do something with this but uh yeah let's let's go find that egg if we can all right i have arrived at iskall and ethos base here in the shattered savannah which is amazing and i think i think iskall actually built a specific structure that he was going to put the egg in there's a stinking no wings club right there where is this thing that he hid the egg in i have to find it all right so i believe it's this tower right here but i don't know exactly how to get in let's see is there a door over here maybe we just go through here oh okay i think this is part of it mumbo's mustache is black okay okay this we gotta keep looking here where is the egg jerry does not like tomatoes because they dislike their color what in the world is this okay hot fire burns hot and bright true the view from here is very blue i don't know what all these random signs are what is this oh no please no please no don't make me do parkour i can't do parkour you know what we're choosing it i don't do parkour i'm sorry the view here is very green okay paintings here we go we know what people do with paintings this is easy enough just gotta jump through the wall should be easy to find there's only a few here maybe it really is just an art gallery wait there's one of these buttons here let's see yeah i didn't hear any pistons i'm not sure what that's about tom is not someone okay so we got to start opening stuff i forgot about that tom does not like water we're reading all the sides hello is there an egg in here jerry is not a mouse okay so there's a tom and a jerry apparently one color on signs is correct one is the color of tom okay who's tom and who's jerry that's what we need to figure out oh there it is there's the egg this was easy wait a minute oh we can't break blocks how are we gonna get it it's gotta be one of these buttons right something's gotta open it up hello i'm not hearing any pistons whatsoever uh jerry loves water oh i feel like we better be taking note of these clues here okay the egg is literally right here in front of us but we don't know how to get it is it a combo about you and you i feel like i feel okay i feel like the wood button has to be pressed first because it's it's gonna stay pressed down longer right maybe we need to press like all of them at the same time oh that's hard to do oh oh i heard a piston i heard a piston that time oh but nothing happened something definitely went off back there oh there it went there it went i had to do it a little faster oh man oh i had to be super quick about that that took some timing oh okay we did it but where did it go okay i guess we could close that there's all these trapdoors everywhere okay it looked like it fell down so let's go down a level and see if we can find it oh wait a minute would it have fallen into here how did oh hang on let's take a look feels like it would have gone down to where that painting was yeah i definitely think it would have fallen directly behind this painting so i feel like that's what we need to get through is there's something blocking it maybe more pistons or something oh i've got a bad feeling mashing buttons isn't going to work this time it feels like maybe this is a bit of a puzzle so okay so we got this painting right here of a guy we got this one also and this one also and is it possible that it's just these two oh i just heard something oh i heard a door what was that oh i heard it again okay it has something to do with these top buttons i was spamming these top buttons up here and i heard the door oh i think i found it i think it's that one and that one i hear a door open okay that one and that one wait gotta do it fast oh oh i'm so close i think there's a door behind here i did it i'm in i'm in yes oh my gosh oh i was spamming buttons for like 20 minutes trying to find the combo oh okay um oh what do i do now both the same time maybe yes there goes ah we did it all right it fell down again and where did it go hello is it not where did it go oh is it behind there or did it fall into the chest oh no oh no another another puzzle to solve um okay i think we just need to oh i heard something oh there it is okay but we need to break it okay what did it what did it um okay so we gotta figure out the color that it's supposed to point at and i think this is what all these signs may be about jerry does not like tomatoes because they dislike their color now i see a lot of tom and jerry references right okay and tom and jerry that was a cartoon show so it would have been tom and then jerry says that tom and that jerry i think so so if jerry does not like tomatoes because they dislike the color that means it is not red okay so it's definitely not red on this side we need to look at all the others i knew we should have kept track of what those signs meant mumbo's mustache is black i don't know how that helps us the view is very green tom lives in brown and red yeah i don't know what any of these clues mean tom is not someone oh come on this is gonna be the hardest part of this whole thing isn't it tom does not like water okay water is blue so i'm thinking it's not blue then one color on signs is correct one is the color of tom one is the color of tom tom is white which means one color is white i think if it was gonna be one of the whites i would say it's gonna be that one so assuming that's right let's just spin this dial until something happens wait do we need to press a button every time okay i tried everyone there so maybe this one is the one that's white and we need to turn this one i think at this point in time the clues are just so chaotic i'm gonna just brute force this thing hmm that didn't work either i made my whole way around so it's not white ah that's not good ah did we just do we literally just brute force it at this point in time um let's okay we just did white let's go green and then i don't know if we have to press the button every time to test it or not so i guess i'll just keep doing it oh that one worked that one worked oh my gosh okay we brute forced it okay blue so tom blew jerry green huh [Laughter] um okay well we got the egg look at that yay okay just announced it to everybody and there's people streaming and yay nothing to see here okay i got spoiled [Laughter] there's a stream day going on right now oops um we got the egg oh we gotta do this we gotta uh do a trigger and then there's the day number okay okay so we are day three seven seven two um i'm really curious how unless i'm wrong about who's tom and who's jerry blue and green how did they jerry does not like tomatoes because they dislike their color if this is cherry oh tomatoes start as green and then turn red so because they don't like to stay green when they ripe they dislike their color okay so is that it so it was either green or red obviously and that makes sense okay i think that does make sense now what about the blue clue for tom i gotta solve this now i gotta understand these signs better the view from here is very blue oh no that's not his view i thought maybe he was staring out the blue window um maybe that makes sense i don't know let's keep looking at the sides let's see if we can piece this together jerry swims in blue did we have these backwards maybe it was jerry and tom not tom and jerry magenta helpful i didn't even come up here why are there windows here i'm afraid to go in here oh i'm wondering was the egg actually up here see we didn't even make our way up here i think the egg was supposed to start up here and then as you walk through the door maybe you catch a glimpse of it and it falls and i think it had already fallen so maybe somebody else had come up here and we didn't see no one likes brown it's super poop okay so yeah this would have eliminated some of the colors from this and there we go um yeah so i think one we actually skipped one of the levels here because i think somebody maybe had come through and then didn't solve the puzzle and so we actually started here instead where we just you know hit all the buttons as fast as we could and it dropped hmm okay okay maybe didn't solve that exactly like he was hoping for this one i'm not sure it was we know it was that button and that button that opened the door right was there anything special about these buttons that would have led us to that other than just spamming them like i did oh oh wait wait wait wait they're the only ones with both stone buttons [Music] that makes sense now look at stone there stone there okay okay i yes i'm brute forced it i'm sorry we could have stared at it long enough you guys probably all saw the pattern and i just instead decided to just click buttons like crazy i get it now gg on that one got me i was too impatient to stop and figure it out same thing with this i mean i missed half the sides because i didn't know there was another level to this place so well done iskal well done that was super cool and now i have 24 hours to figure out what i'm gonna do with this and um i'm not gonna show you i i got some ideas uh but i'm not gonna show you i will probably place it and maybe once it's found i'll show you exactly what i did with it because i know you guys i know what you'll do you'll go and you'll tell the hermits where it's at and help them out i think on my way home though i'm going to stop by and see if there's been any progress at the airport because um yeah i've been gone for a while and i think wells was gonna work on it while i was gone so let's go see what he's been up to mr wells i am back from vacation and uh came to check on the progress doesn't look like much has happened since i've been gone well there's there's actually there's been a deceptively large amount of progress oh okay okay um i know it doesn't look like much it looks like where we left off i'll be honest and honestly it it kind of is where we left okay it it literally is left okay okay you got the calcite though right i got you some calcite so you could fill in the walls here i've had a little bit of a change of heart okay say it um i've spent quite a bit of time uh in a creative testing world trying to work out uh a design that i really liked i just couldn't find a way to do it with the hanger and the airstrip oh um okay so i've had a bit of a change of plans and i think the new build is going to be like a hundred times cooler than what we sort of laid out here okay uh so i think you'll be really really happy with it once you see it i i think you're you're really gonna love it okay so that's the good news do you want the bad news this guy's coming over to hear the bad news i guess all right come on the worst news you know we've got the good news is we got a new thing that'll be cool the bad news is that this is no good and then the worst news is um the new build involves a lot of gray and black things and i made squid farm well you were gone you did okay um unfortunately there are always people on the server so yeah you know i have afked at that squid farm for probably a grand total of about 30 hours and i've gotten like three inks oh my gosh ah yes so um yeah i don't know if you've got black dye i don't i don't but okay i learned this last season getting ink is really hard because of like what you said people are on the server and they're loading the ocean we're surrounded by ocean we live on an island right so people are always loading the ocean so what i did last season is i created a wither rose farm and that turns into black dye and that's much more reliable because i just need people to not be in the end to make that happen so i mean i could whip one of those up again pretty easily that would be amazing okay that would be great because the with the new build all of the roof uh and most of the like sort of detail highlight sort of blocks are all some shade of gray okay okay cool yeah i can take care of that and then i i heard you made a concrete maker i did i did uh and you're welcome to use it if you'd like it's just off the north coast of my island base place thing awesome okay so it's a plan okay so we're not getting it done obviously right now but i can get us uh with the rose farm going so you can finish the concrete and then we'll come back together and when we come back together to build this thing i got something really cool to show you i'm excited about i can't wait that sounds awesome okay all right so we'll we'll get this done next episode and i will get right on that with the rose farm asap i've got good news the egg has been hidden again i'm not going to tell you where it is we're going to find out how long it takes another hermit to find it hopefully it'll take a while we can rack up some points in the meantime but we got a lot done today we opened up a new shop again please if you come up with any puns for the shop name please drop them watch pearl's video anyway speaking of pearl she's still underground anyway yeah we got a lot done today and i got a lot to do next episode looks like we're going to be tackling a wither rose farm and hopefully getting the yes wing club up and running and accepting memberships by the end of the episode as i mentioned at wells i got something really cool planned for that underway so can't wait to
