what's going on guys welcome back to the channel welcome back to jr aviation and welcome to reed hill view airport here in san jose california where we have our beautiful bonanza f-33 here owen has been caretaking it looking after it while it's been going under some surgeries to get some minor work done and upgrades done the new transponder's in there right it's in there this is the first time i've seen uh the plane in probably you know a few weeks or whatever since our last video it has been getting some nice upgrades done at owens airport here including this new very expensive unit the garmin gtx 345 edsb if you're going to put in 80sb in a plane in a bonanza you could go some cheap routes but this is definitely one of the more expensive routes plugs in nicely with all the existing avionics equipment we have but it also goes nice with four flight you're able to like sink in and get like weather and traffic you've flown a couple times right just tested it but we can really test it out today especially going up to reno we can make use of that uh weather and traffic information cool beautiful so i can't wait to get using that some more really nice upgrades to this plane so like you mentioned we're going over to hopefully by the end of this video reno nevada weather's looking a little dicey right now but hopefully it's going to clear up yeah so we'll just kind of play it by ear and for now while we're waiting for the weather to clear up we're going to go over san francisco and what a better way to kill some time oh man i have always wanted to do a bay tour with owen and what better way to do it than in our own bonanza this is going to be so much fun ready to go okay [Applause] [Music] good afternoon bonanza four one zero four series up self-serve pumps with hotel like a bay tour final destination's gonna be byron bonanza four one zero four's here retail ground good afternoon runway three overnight tech speeds will be through the night views you lose air force here all right how's it feel to be back in uh back in the old girl nice i literally the second i sat down these seats i'm like yeah yes everybody's commenting on the seats that have seen it they're like wow all right and then once you once you get your button you're like wow wow yeah everybody in this area is familiar with bay tour is oh yeah it's like a known thing it's a known path that you have to follow sort of you're there's a few ways to do it when i basically communicate to him is that hey i want to head up that direction talk to san jose zero force here remain clear of san jose class charlie until in contact with san jose tower on one two four point zero squawk five three zero four stipend okay clear san jose troll talking home on uh one two four point zero on the squawk is five three zero four financial zero force here yeah none of that twisting and selecting uh numbers right in this new transponder so awesome you know what you pay for because it was not cheap like seven or eight thousand bucks but we're investing some money in this plane to make it a really nice plane for us or for the next owner hey ground uh zero force here can the cirrus maybe pull into the run-up area we're trying to get around him on uh zulu here oh seriously typical serious pilots just stopped in the middle of the taxiway this is going to be a really really really useful five different controlled control towers the 15 minutes it takes to get to the city because we got to transition through each of their airspace so there's gonna be a lot going on san jose moffett tower palo alto san carlos and san francisco international before we even get to the city our bananas are four one zero four series right so it'll be exciting okay four one zero four sierra would you be tired straight out on the way through a night clip or take off straight out cliff take off through and right through air force here okay let the busy flight be here everything's in the green yes sir you got good air speed they'll jump right off ah it's good to be back at zero four sierra contact san jose tower one two four point zero it will see us zero force here our bonanza [Applause] [Applause] so we can we can proceed into his airspace all we need to enter the charlie is two-way radio communication yup we clearly picked this up and he uh read back our call sign which means we can enter his airspace but he'll give us a crossing instruction that's a zero four zero radar contact four miles north east san jose airport across san jose midfield at or above 2 000. midfield at or above 2000 and we'd like to go tower to tower after this year just so he has an idea because he could either hand us off to norcal or we can stay low and follow the freeway which is what i'm hoping to do you can already see the city out there that's crazy there's a san jose right there yeah here's where we flew into earlier in there for one minute already busy you were not kidding yeah this is gonna be hectic and then zero force here if we're heading two seven zero and maintain two thousand okay maintain two thousand heading two seven zero here for sure and it's like ryan is that apple right there that's apple oh damn you're used to seeing this stuff but shoot i've never seen apple yeah we could go do a loop over apple towers air force here we have that trafficking site can we pass behind him and do a loop over apple that's a zero four zero that's approved and uh maintain vfr at or below two thousand [Applause] thank you [Music] proceed on course maintain vfr at or below 2000 towards palo alto now uh transitioning yes uh all the way up to the city for sure you look closely down there the uh orvis flying doctor dc i think it's a dc-10 zero four sierra contact policy air force here today that's parked down there it's pretty cool south tower bonanza for once air force here one thousand five hundred and four one zero four sierra politico tower transition proof of temperature three zero zero three say or full round of light two or three just uh uh 101 transition up to san francisco and then landing byron's air force here yeah that's it flying docker yeah dc10 how do you know 11. the md11 is a little stretched it typically has winglets uh zero force here uh is that owen uh yes this is owen jt says hello hey what's up boys that's so funny guys famous people get used to the bumps it's going to be twice as bad going into reno all right so palo alto is next uh we're talking to palo alto right now but they are the next airport that we're going to go by we already talked about it paula is next so we got st carlos and then we gotta talk to san francisco international then we're in the city i i haven't even had to turn off the gopro once because it's so busy guys there's a lot going on uh crazy wall of clouds coming over the mountains i guess fog marine layer so the ocean's just on the other side of that just on the other side they just had a baron go down in palo alto landed in the march here contact san carlos tower 119 or point zero okay crosstalk bonanza four one zero four sierra one thousand five hundred bonanza four one zero four sierra san carlos tower san francisco is not accepting bravo transition same sentence uh we'll go out towards the shore and climb the air force here [Applause] let me give them a call just keep high 101 off you're right i'd appreciate that air force here and then sometimes there's that this is all atherton down here the rich people yeah four one zero four sierra there's some low clouds over the city uh norcals i'm sorry san francisco's just advising that and keep i want to want to feel right transition class delta here san carlos approved altimeter three zero zero four okay appreciate the heads up bonanza zero four zero radar contact over san carlos airport and go ahead with three back checks cleared to bravo out or below two thousand one and one off to the right zero force here swim for zero four zero thanks from st altitude uh we're currently one thousand five hundred two first year imagine being in a helicopter just being able to hover right here and watch some planes take off and land that would be sick there's the international terminal we got air france emirates and qatar airways two triple sevens and a 350. i just find it crazy how close you can get in a single-engine piston to a large international airport like this like we're crazy crazy swiss airlines new zealand's sas i mean wow we're just casually cruising by sfo in a thousand feet hotel bonanza four one zero fours here eleven hundred climbing up to uh we're gonna go up like 1800. at the four one zero four here in ocala approach good uh afternoon the old san francisco timberwolves three zero zero five tours approved north and west of the bay bridge at all times all right thanks northwest favorite it's your first year so we can climb to about 3 000 which is the bottom of the bravo but i don't know how much we're going to see directly above the city maybe we'll see it on the other side i don't think i've ever i've never really been to san francisco in san francisco before you leave here's a delores park at picnics down there they have movie showings in the park the homes that are stacked like this that's right there oh shoot i just watched the documentary on that they're painted ladies or something yeah people are hanging out with one niner zero and proceeded to [Applause] and the mogee barely peeking who through are [Music] [Music] dancing [Music] it's crazy i think there's hundreds of thousands of people just down there living their lives just casually and we're just cruising on above uh it's the transamerica pyramid the salesforce tower just peeking through the fog wow so sick kind of see alcatraz barely popping through the roads but i don't we won't be able to get a good view of it it looks like it's covered pretty good that thing right there that island there that's awful yeah i'm such a typical tourist wow i've never seen that stuff that's epic all right so cool you ready to head to byron yes sir norcal is air force sierra we're all set here we're gonna head down to byron and uh looks like we're gonna have to do the clouds ahead we'll go south toward oakland do the shoreline transition and then uh eastbound to byron's air force here how's that sound for zero force here that's the proof when you enter the surface here the currently just maintain uh south of runway three zero out of below one thousand five hundred open altimeter three zero zero six we're to transition between that runway and the surface bravo which is about a mile and a half corridor so we're basically going to hug this runway out of sfo bravo because the bravo is like right here but then oakland runway's right here so we're going to go in between the two and go around the back exactly contact oakland tower 127.2 27.2 air force this is the old uh alameda naval base runway they don't use it anymore no that's like great real estate i know yeah okay bonanza four one zero four sierra one down four one zero four zero green tower reporter outside the class bravo aerospace at all times all right south of 3-0 and clear the brothers air force here uss hornet so yeah the bravo is like literally right there so if i you're off to the right i'm violating a airspace because i'm obviously not supposed to go in it well if you bust the bravo just pull that dude in vegas what he did i'm not leaving the bravo oh clear me in i'm already in it and one of them romeo i need you outside of bravo negative a negative what i'm inspired you were not given any clearance through the bravo one november romeo exit the bravo immediately then clear me through no yes good old one november romeo what a guy if i go left i'm kind of cutting off their departures off 3-0 which is the main runway for all the airliners so we're in this tight little corridor and it's called the shoreline transition going uh to and from oakland so a lot of people don't know about it okay good afternoon bonanza four one zero four sierra 1300 climbing up to 2000 for the cold plaza [Music] [Applause] [Music] mama told me before [Music] all right so we made it to byron where we are filling up with fuel and it's a good deal at four dollars and sixty cents a gallon but man with 120 gallons that's 552 bucks ouch people complain about their escalade fill up costing you know 100 bucks talk about a plane 500 bucks and let alone this is a small plane imagine a jet you know it could be 10 000 bucks to fill up a gulf stream all right we've got the mains filled up these tip tanks the hose is at its limit here they parked pretty close but i guess not close enough so according to matt g maddie 21.5 gallons each not 20. if you film the tippy tippy top i i feel like if you have a bonanza this is a mandatory mod you need tip tanks gross weight increase and 40 extra gallons i think it looks better and flies a little better too that's just my personal opinion nice that's the sound of money leaving a bank account [Music] this is the lowest point in the fuel so if anything it'll be in here it looks good to me nice well there you go we just topped off all 120 gallons probably more like 123 with the tip tanks fully filled up it did hurt the bank account with nearly 500 bucks but you know it is what it is uh oh and that was super fun so we're end this video here because it's already getting pretty long and reno's gonna be a whole video in and of itself so stay tuned for the next video reno air races and many times do you think you've done that little fake flight 100 times it never gets old day time night time it's all just breathtaking every time name one time where it was kind of got a little sticky like i mean that's a lot it's a match so it's sticky on a nice weekend afternoon when everybody decides to do the same thing and there's just airplanes all over it's also not required to talk to atc during the tour because you're clear the charlie and you're beneath the bravo so you get some of these guys that just come darting in not talking to anybody and it's just it can get pretty messy so
