HARVEST STARTS And Then It RAINS

better folks how are we doing we are finally harvesting I am obviously on the Baler and in that uh cloud of dust there is she don't work for the day in the office and she comes home and relieves her dad um that goes there dad goes and that's on the old compound but she you know if you really enjoys so it was pills for Liz's annual combine video um because that'll come again [Music] um yeah it's coming off well um so you turn an acre at the minute I'm not sure exactly what it is because obviously I'm not involved with that a minute because I'm in bailing but the straw is um yeah straws doing ten thousand equals hell so there's plenty of strawberries over here we're not going to struggle to get um uh to get straw this year so she's got a little lights on so getting a bit of a tank tank full in there there's the car interactors we'll see them in a minute when we go around this wall feature thank you so the wife [Music] it's just singing along um I've just looked actually about half hour ago the tall Bell cam it stands at 2800 at the minute but everything you know silently straw um well I'm on about 450 straw now because we're going next to the old school so um yeah so things are going uh going well cracking up nice and fit this year because it's ripened up naturally unlike last year obviously last year remember we had all of those extreme temperatures well we've not had them this year it's been like a standard pretty sure the rain sort of if not every day every other day like so um hence why we're you know a little bit late starting but um yeah we're not late late but later than we were last year I think we've probably nearly done song last year but uh we're getting on now there's the garden tractors got the fast track on the big trailer and one of the TCL the t7 on the rigid Western so um sure horsepower there right it's the next day now Liz has just gone off with a combine to get started uh Richard is tipping one of the loads from last night so I'm just about there um get the Baylor ready again I've just lobbed another uh roll of Easter egg in so we're good there so I've got us there 150 on that one so um but yeah we're making excellent progress with the bailing job look at that oh don't look too hard that's naughty in it like naughty well I've got some um big spools of twine that's what you didn't want to do so excited I've dropped the dipstick oh because I am a dipstick right hold on let's put you down a minute [Applause] [Music] definitely need to wipe it now obviously it's always good practice to wipe your dipstick before you uh you know before you use it before you read it so you get a true reading and oh no that doesn't make so much difference does it but there we go we're banging in the middle so that is good enough these um fpts they do I'm cramping it these fp2s do use a bit of oil when they're working flat out not too much but the same as any modern engine the way when I was on um when I was at Henry's with the 4 000 Fast Track attitude through a bit of oil like but they just do these these modern engines instead of it running out the bottom like on the ltw they burn instead so so one here we've got a couple of things that make maintenance easier we've got obviously the chain lube uses roughly about half of that for say about 300 350 Bales so that's pretty good um around the other side actually that is my grease gun storage which is actually um should be for the manuals but I'll keep them in tractor so that goes in there quite nicely do that up that keeps them out of the way do get a little toolbox on here that's got a few bits and Bobs in like that but um not big enough I know he's big enough for grease cartridge but then this side we've got the auto Greaser which takes um obviously as just a standard um grease cartridge does get through a lot of grease and that is empty now um despite the fact I did what 150 barrels with that since I changed it so it's like yeah roughly about 150 barrels per change but it's just a standard um Carter's dispenser that screws in and then gets pumped round but that does at least mean it's getting lots of Grease all the time which is good so the only other things you've got to grease obviously are your shaft um always important to Grease Grease yourself keep that nice and good and obviously a good um good guard on it as well a lot no excuse for having a poor guard on uh or a lack of gold on the PTO it's not this day and age anyway and the only other nipples we've got we've got on the top hinge there so you have to clamber on top of the bailout there and um squat a couple of bits in but that that is it basically so you've got them to one either side on the top hinge and your shaft and that is about it really so the collection of straw is about the same as any other Baler I've come across it does Pax drawing as you can see um so we'll have to give this a blow off about this side yeah again usual places like I mean it's a Bailey you're never going to get rid of you know they're never gonna make a bail that doesn't collect straws so anyway I need two hands to change that so we'll um get that changed I'm about ready to roll let's put the color brush on it it's peeing it down uh quarter five and of course you have a look I got half a row left on this ROM on and then there's four rows left it's on floor in it like another 20 minutes I'd have been done but then why we ain't too far from the yard here so but that's definitely a bit too wet to um bail now well the the best for it is always um if you get a bit of rain if you're from my god get um get wet you know as in sort of like they're wet now it's too late to bail when it rains on them and they keep dry because you've got the engine there um you're you're all right to keep going but uh the other side is a there's a fair bit of rain to come well a better clouds to come anyway than it looks so anyway Saturday afternoon take this back gonna see how everything else is going the combo would have stopped as well now so um turn that off um yeah going out finished milking and uh it'll be fish and chips tonight so yeah on boys on anyway I enjoyed that first harvest video and
