[Music] whole brands hiding here from rain country homestead god is good all the time well today I wanted to show you how I make my special scalp oil that I also put a little work a little bit through my hair but mostly under my scalp and you'll see what and before I get to that I want to explain a little bit about my hair and I just kind of think it helps you understand where I'm coming from one going you can skip this if you want to and go right to the recipe but I think it kind of helps to understand some things now several years ago when I took Patrick and I off our thyroid medications I was making a whole lot of changes not just to our diet but just to the way we live you know what we brush our teeth with you know what we wash our hair with everything because I was trying to eliminate as many synthetic ingredients out of our lives as possible and shampoos and conditioners store-bought are just loaded with a bunch of unhealthy garbage that you have to remember I know it's easier to think of well not ingesting it should be fine well you have to realize that anything you put on your skin it's going to get absorbed into your skin and so you shouldn't put anything on your skin that's not edible and not healthy and the same applies to your hair because you're constantly that you're just exposing yourself to more toxic chemicals and so when you're taking a steps that we took and going off of a medication whatever it may be one of the things that really has to go is any exposure to toxins that you get you can eliminate and I started off doing the for my first shampoo replacement was doing a no poo method with the baking soda and then doing a vinegar wash or rinse that was okay for a while but right that time and I don't know if it was because of that or because of going out to the medications and also going through the change of life myself I mean I'm doing all this stuff at the same time you know taking ourselves out the medication going through the change of life so I started losing a lot of my hair I'm thinking it's mostly related to the going off the medication and my body having to readjust and making its own thyroid because well thyroid will cause a lot of hair loss and you wouldn't know it my hair right now is actually still much thinner than it used to be but it's but since that time that I lost all that hair it is starting to thicken up and get longer again because the other thing that happened is that I was losing so much hair that the new growth could not keep up and so my hair went from being this long to this long well when when it's all curled up I made with shoulder-length so now it's a little better than shoulder length when I straighten it out especially in the back it's actually right to the middle of my back but normally with it all curly it used to be down to the middle of my back as curly as it is now and so I don't know that we'll ever get that long again I I really hope that it does but I've become used to it at this length I don't know part of its age and going through the change of life as well but in the meantime I was becoming desperate for means to help my hair recover and thankfully it has been coming back and I really think these changes are partly why it has so I did some researching into different things um I did find out that the baking soda method for wash is not the best for really dry hair which I have typically people the curlier hair is the dryer it's going to be that's just that's usually the standard and so I did away with baking soda but kept using a vinegar rinse and that seemed to help I tried different shampoos that were supposed to be natural and you know they didn't help I finally you know I just I just kind of quit all that and I just went to using my own homemade vinegar and that seemed to help quite a bit I do still like to occasionally wash my hair with a shampoo and what I would do in between for a while there was used the dr. Bronner's mixed with some water and that worked pretty good but I wasn't super happy with it and until and then I invented my own herbal shampoo recipe which I'll be doing a video of that down the road hopefully pretty soon and and so you can watch that too but I still only use that once a week I still mostly wash my hair every other day with my diluted homemade vinegar parents and so you can see a video on how to make your own vinegar right there and I think in that video that it was like when I did back this summer it shows me filtering out my floral vinegar that I use for my hair and I'm really happy with it I just you know today I actually used my homemade shampoo and that but I still follow it up with the vinegar rinse that's important that even with the homemade shampoo that you solve it up with the vinegar rinse and it turned out okay today but anyway I will insert a couple of pictures here of what my hair looked like when it was longer before I started losing it by the handfuls so you can see a picture here ah maybe I'll put a couple more pictures maybe here and maybe another one right here all right so let's get to this recipe and I'll explain to you here's my little bottle of hair oil or scalp oil really because this won't do I use it on and you can see it's only half empty it takes me a long time to go through this because I don't need very much but because I'm wanting to go ahead and get this video made because people you know a lot of people are going through the hair loss saying a lot of us because of the change of life a lot of it is because of the hypothyroidism or adjusting to you know going off the medications and maybe other reasons so I want to get this made up so I'm going to go ahead and do like maybe half this bottle and uhm so what I have to figure out first is how much is in here and since this is half I want to make that much again let me measure this out okay it's two ounces quarter cups which is about what I thought it was okay so I want a quarter cup yeah again now what I have here is look if you look close you'll see at the bottom there's this layer this is cayenne pepper and I've got red pepper flakes in it to it so that's what we see floating around in there and this is a cayenne pepper infused avocado oil when I'm doing infused oil that prefer to use like a grape seed or an avocado something that kind of to me grapeseed does have a is more shelf-stable than certain other seed oils avocado oil is very shelf stable and it can handle being heated if needs be so Saudis olive oil he's not really good for your hair if I'm going to do in a few oil I want to get nice and warm then I typically won't use it because um it can go rancid and let me get a theory here because I have all this pepper in here I'm going to filter this out and I'm going to go ahead and measure out another quarter cup because I'm trying to fill up this bottle so again I'll show this so you can see how much kind of pepper I put in here and then I taught the rest off with with the oil and so all that coal in there that's from the infusion and what I did was I set it close to my fireplace still down it can stay nice and warm and it's been infusing for about two to three months now the rest of this I'm going to use when I may not the rest of it some of it all types or way but I'm also going to be making a video on how I do my homemade muscle rub and this is what I use as the base for my muscle rub rub is the cayenne infused oil see that color I want to see it again now it's in in this and it's not quite as cloudy so that avocado oil was clear when I put it in there okay so now three ingredients I'm going to use you can use one or essential oils you can use one two or all three of these you can add some other essential oil for to just change the scent out but I'll explain why these particular simple oils all of these lavender rosemary and sage every single one of these is expects illan for rubbing into your scalp to help encourage stimulate hair growth and so I'll just go ahead and use all three they do smell pretty good together and as you can see I'm using mouth foods feel I do have some Young Living oils and but I'm going to link to nail foods down below to their official web page and up so you can see why I really like now so they're very much again GMOs and they're all about organic so look into them and read them up and you can see why I like them so much if you still prefer to go with the more expensive brands that's fine I understand I just really like these I like I said I have the Young Living ones I tried a couple and I haven't personally found them to be much different than the nel foods at least a couple I've tried like the peppermint it seems just as strong as the peppermint I get from now Foods and I'm you know I'm still glad I invested in them guys I'm not I'm not complaining I'm just that I just like now food so for this I'm going to put about a capful of the lavender as you can see how big these are four ounce bottles I always try to get the biggest bottles I can find I would have got a 4 ounce bottle of sage if I could have found it just because you're going to be money ahead a capsule of the rosemary and then a cap full to say if you always take the little dropper things off if it's not unless it's the oregano oil but usually I'm mixing so I like to take the dropper thing off and just pour it right in there and just kind of make sure it's evenly mixed I can usually tell by the smell if it's as strong as I want now you may want to use web essential oils if you're than I did if you're very sensitive I my skin is not that sensitive so I can go pretty strong same thing with my muscle rub I make it really strong when it comes to a central oil but um so you got it started small and then kind of an experiment and then add more as needed I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with more than is bottle will hold that's ok I'll put the rest in a small container wait how I use this is all pour a little bit about maybe the size of a dime into my into the palm of my hands and then I take my fingers and then I just work it through my scalp like this and then I then I'll take any extra and then just wipe it off on my hair like that and I don't like to put too much of that in my hair especially there it's close to my face because if I'm wearing it down like this or I have that little chunk that I like to wear down because there's like to have something to frame my face sometimes you don't want that getting in your eyes because the cayenne pepper and well the essential oils don't really bother me those particular ones are mines because I actually use the lavender if you saw my and the rosemary in my mascara recipe which you can find a video to appear for the same reasons I use this as my my scalp oil and that stimulates hair growth and I've noticed a change because my eyelashes also very soon and since I made sir make my own mascara using those oils online my eyelashes have sickened up again they're still not quite sticking long as they used to be but there definitely have come a long way since doing that so I do notice a difference all right so there you have it that's how I make my scalp oil and so keep in mind that this is how I do this for me it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to work for you but I have seen a big difference in both my hair and my eyelashes using the essential oils you know in the homemade mascara and in my scalp blend and it's it's nice to finally see my hair coming back getting thicker again getting longer again and and that's why I love times I have a hard time tracking out what to do with my hair because I I do constantly have chunks of hair coming in that are like they don't fit in with the rest of my hair because these chunks coming in and it's like it's good irritating that healthy so Jun sticking out but it's good to see my hair finally coming back and um and anyway what I want to say is it may not work for you but you may be able to at least take this and develop it yourself just like the mascara recipe I got the original recipe from wellness mama and then it was good it wasn't perfect for me so I took a couple years working with it I keep coming back to and keep coming back to it I'd take a break for a while come back to it until I found the perfect recipe and the last one the one that I put up in that video is the one that works absolute best for me I love it and and I get the benefit of actually helping my eyelashes to get thicker again and thicker and longer again and so I just give it a try and yeah I play with it there's no one right way to do any of the stuff that I do it's just the way I do it and I hope that it's nothing else just like with my skin cream my mascara my soaps whatever it is that I'm showing you that I may the tooth powder toothpaste deodorant all that you can just use those base and change it to suit you is there's no one right way okay so I hope you enjoyed this video and I was able to teach you something new and that you're encouraged to go ahead and move into a more self-sufficient natural lifestyle through all the night I'm offering you and you know I welcome any feedback any any ideas that you have that maybe you do for your hair your skin or anything related that has helped you because I may take that and go I like that and incorporate it with what I already do so anyway thanks for watching take care and God bless
