to fill this form and submit it you will need your passport details your home address details about your company which city you will go when you land in the US your company's address there and some more job related details handy after submitting the form you'll get a confirmation page please download and print that page you will have to carry this page with you during your interview if you want to make any changes to the form later you cannot you will have to fill this form again and take both the Old and the new form with you during your appointment now you need to pay the fees for that visit the website usva scheduling.com and create a new profile there if you already have a profile you can use that too choose the schedule appointment option on the payment confirmation screen you will be presented with payment options and further details on how to initiate the payment note that it can take up to one business day from time of payment for your receipt to be activated the current fee is $25 which is slightly more than 17,000 rupees just one more step to schedule an appointment go back to the US Visa scheduling website and log in using the same credentials you use to pay the fees post that select the schedule appointment button you must schedule two appointments one for the visa application center and one for the visa interview at the embassy for the consulate first schedule your appointment at the visa application center this appointment will allow you to go to one of the five visa application centers for your Biometrics second schedule your visa interview appointment at the embassy or consulate you will need three pieces of information in order to schedule your appointment your passport number the Visa application fee receipt number the 10 digigit barcode number from your ds160 confirmation page as you go through the process you will be able to select your Visa type enter personal data add dependent select your document delivery location confirm Visa payment and schedule your appointment that's it your appointment is now scheduled now let's move on to the next step Biometrics on the day and time of your Biometrics appointment go to the consulate where your interview is scheduled here is a list of documents that you need to carry for your Biometrics appointment original passport please carry all old and expired passports with you appointment confirmation page carry a hard copy of the appointment confirmation page that you get after paying the fees and scheduling the appointment ds160 confirmation page a hard copy as well you don't have to carry your photos you're going to get your photos clicked you can carry your i797 approval notice with you if you want but honestly it's not required now now what is the biometric process when you reach the consulate you will have to stand in a line outside the consulate you will be allowed inside only 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time before you can enter the authorities might ask you for your appointment letter original passport and the receipt for your visa application fee they will also ask you to arrange all of them in a particular order you won't be allowed to take anything inside not even your mobile phone and some people have made a business out of renting logger boxes outside these consulates to store your value I would suggest taking a friend along who can wait with you outside or while you get these things done with the biometric after the security check just follow the queue and wait for your turn to be called once you're called all your 10 fingers are scanned this is known as 10 printing your photo will also be clicked that's it your Biometrics are done now next step the final interview on the day of the interview reach the US embassy at least 15 to 20 minutes before your schedule time here is the list of documents no one will be able to share an exact list with you because there is no exact act list mentioned by the US Embassy most of the information about your case is already with them because they received your ds60 and your entire age 1B application by the USCIS here is a list of documents that you must absolutely carry your passport your appointment confirmation your ds160 confirmation page do not print and carry your entire ds160 application your H1B approval notice employment verification letter the original one your employer will be able to provide you with that a client letter if you're going to work through a consultant your H1B LCA copy carry a copy of the LCA posting last three paste tubs form i19 which is your H1B application carry a color of black and white copy of the form i129 your resume or CV your transcripts degree marksheets to prove your education in most cases the Visa officer will ask you only for your passports appointment confirmation and the H1B approval notice if your spouse and kids are also going with you and apply for H4 Visa then please carry your marriage certificate and birth certificates of your kidss please carry these documents in a transparent folder similar to your Biometrics appointment nothing else will be allowed inside the facility other than these documents now what is the process on the day of the interview you will be directed by the security to follow a Queue at every step there will be a document checkpoint once before you enter the final line you will be eventually assigned a window where your interview will take place now the most important part let's discuss the questions you can expect during your H1B visa interview now the internet is filled with articles about these questions and what to expect they do a really good job to cover every question possible and we can do that too but we think it's more overwhelming than helpful in most cases the idea is to prepare for the interview and not just learn the answers to these questions by heart try to understand what the Visa officer wants to know about you and prepare accordingly that's a smarter way to prepare for the interview and now that we have explained that we will walk you how let's try to understand what the Visa officers are looking for and how we can prepare for this interview if your spouse is with you for H4 Visa most likely they won't be asked any questions other than when did you guys get married and how long have you been together if your spouse is going by themselves for their age4 visa interview then we have an entire video about that I'm linking it here and I'll drop the link in the description box too if you watch this video so far please hit that like And subscribe button if you haven't already the Visa officer wants to check the following whether you are a genuine person your identity your intent your education your qualification to do the job you're saying you're going to do the legitimacy of your company the legitimacy of your role all the questions they will ask will be to check one of the things I mentioned above and here is a possible list of questions to expect your name Visa category through which you are traveling to the US your passport what have you studied where do you work how long have you been working for this particular company what is your role in the company how long have you been working in the company what is the purpose of your visit or why is your company sending you to the US now briefly explain the duties you will be performing in in the US this question is to understand if the work you will be doing in the US does in fact qualify for the H1B Visa or not why can't this be done from India itself this question is to understand why you really need to be there in person your answer can be related to the criticality of the work that you are doing for the company or daily client interaction requirement why can't someone do this in the US itself through this they want to understand your specialized skill which the company can't find in the US where will you be staying in the US what is your pay in the US how long will you be in the US what do you intend to do after the validity of your Visa ends if you're going through a consultancy then they can ask additional questions like is your work related to a client who is your client what does your client do now I'm going to bring in a guest who Moved very recently in 2022 through a different company moved to a client role in a year and then even got his passport stamped again in December this person also had previous B1 B2 rejections and was able to get his h one finally so let's talk to him and ask the questions what he was asked and how he answered it thank you V for joining it okr and sharing your experience about the H1B visa interview for anyone who doesn't know we was actually my brother who moved to Seattle a year and a half ago he was working for an analytics consulting firm in Bangalore and then he ended up moving with them on an H1B visa to Seattle very recently he also changed his jobs and he has recently gone for the Dropbox interview as well uh the interesting part why I wanted to bring him on board was his first H1B visa interview he had already had two B1 B2 rejections so of course there was a lot of nervousness but what I'm going to do right now in this process is make sure that you are fully learning what exactly happened during that interview process what exactly was he asked and how did he answer that and we'll also talk about what his Dropbox experience was when he recently changed jobs and went through the Dropbox process so web let's begin so I had my um H1B Lottery picked up in October 2021 when there were three lotteries and I got my interview date for January in 2022 so I went to the calcata consed where I had the B1 B2 rejects itself so I was a bit nervous apprehended like whether the H1B will go through or not the interview was actually quite simple like they asked me questions regarding which Visa I'm applying for which was H1B then they asked me how long I have been working with the current employer which was around four years then they asked me what my role was I explained to them that I working as a data analytics consultant for one of the largest OTAs in the world and my work resolves around um designing solutions for them a couple of tricky questions that they asked were um why are you being moved to us right now is your role can your role not be done from India I told them that because I work in a global team and my team is totally based out of us and Australia so I need to work out of us to handle the requirements so that there is minimum turnaround time then they asked me that uh which city will you be working out of form uh I said it will be Seattle they asked if I would be working out of the client location for which the answer was yes they asked that if I had my S renewed for the current year which I also had then they asked if I had a client letter for the role which I mentioned that was provided for my by my client to me so that was not an issue after that he had like funny smoke on his face when he told me that he could see that I had two B1 B2 Rejects and then I was a bit nervous but then he said that don't worry but your H1B is through um so that was the gist of the interview after that when I switch jobs um for the H1B Dropbox uh the process was quite simple I had taken all the required documents which is like the previous i797 for my previous employer the current employer the passport and a couple of photographs and then they asked me questions about date of birth uh which company am I joining to uh what is the start date where we'll be working out of from and yeah that was it uh they took all the documents and I think within 4 days I got the message that the Visa has been approved and I could pick up my passport from the VC itself so yeah which VC was this this was the V okay so you've always done that in the calata VC so thank you so much for sharing I hope everyone who is watching this is absolutely helpful for you we tried to make sure that you fully understand how to answer these questions like I mentioned in most of the video please be to the point answer what is asked and like we have shared his experience the shorter you keep it and the more pointed you keep it the better chances you have best of luck and thank you so much we hope this video was very helpful we tried to cover almost everything you need to know about the H1B visa interview process please don't forget to like share and subscribe to our Channel remember if things aren't going your way it's okay and they will eventually turn around until next time have a wonderful day
