hey everybody this is Joshua Lanford welcome back to my YouTube channel and [Music] today we are comparing a guitar amplifier and we'll see if the PA system now guitar camp is designed specifically for a guitar and is designed to bring out those mid-range frequencies that the guitar is known for now a PA system is designed mainly now you can also plug acoustic instruments into the PA system but it's mainly designed for the human voice so today we're going to see if a PA system can actually sound good when you plug your guitar into it so hit the like button if you think that the guitar will sound better with the guitar amp hit the like button if you think that the PA system will sound better and hit the like button if you're not sure because it's going to be good so for the guitar amp we're going to be using this Fender frontmen 25 watt amp and for our PA system we're going to be using this really fancy pv mixer it's going to be attached to this speaker down below and this is a really nice mixer you can plug up to eight instruments or vocals into it and it has controls so you can adjust the highs mids and lows and even has several effects that we're going to look at today including reverb and delay so for this first comparison we're going to play some jazz chords in the neck position [Music] [Music] [Music] now we're going to switch to the bridge position and play some overdrive through the guitar amp and the PA system [Music] now one feature that the PA system also has it is it has special effects and one of those effects is reverb so we're going to compare the reverb on the guitar amp to the reverb on the PA system and see how it sounds [Music] you [Music] so the next special effect we're going to try on our PA system is delay and I'm going to play through my guitar amp and use the delay on my music editing program first and then we're going to see what the delay sounds like on the PA system here we go [Music] then last but certainly not least we're gonna play some big fat bluesy licks in the neck position and we're gonna see if the PA system sounds bigger and fatter than the guitar so I have to admit the guitar amp sounded way better with the guitar than the PA system it just sounded quite a bit clearer and brought out those mid-range frequencies of the guitar quite a bit better than the PA system the PA system just sounded kind of fat and big and it just wasn't as it wasn't as clear as the guitar amp also I noticed the special effects but the delay and the reverb didn't really sound as good on the PA system as they would with a guitar effects pedal I think they were mainly designed to go with the human voice and so that's why the guitar didn't bring those effects out as well so there's a reason that amps are made specifically for the guitar so if you enjoyed this comparison be sure to leave a like and subscribe and I'll see you in the next comparison and also leave a comment and let me know if you've ever tried to plug a guitar into a PA system or any other system other than a guitar amp
