Ground Combat Guide | Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

In this video, we will introduce you to all the intricacies of combat in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. In the 41st millenium, you can wage war from afar or get close and personal. For ranged combat, Ballistic Skill is the main characteristic. But not the only one used. And don't forget about cover. Use it to survive and to deny your enemies such a luxury. As for your firearms, be aware of their effective range. Chose how you want to dispatch your enemies: Single shot, or burst fire. Or purge them with fire and plasma using your area attack arsenal. But mind the trigger finger, friendly fire is ON. For close combat, Weapon Skill and Agility are the most important characteristics. By default your melee attacks will always hit. But your enemies will also always try to parry or dodge. They will try either, depending on which chance is higher. And don't forget to bring your friends along for the ride. Together you can overcome the deadliest of challenges. Close combat even allows you to disable dangerous sharpshooters! And if your enemies attempt to flee, punish them for it. But what about damage? First of all, let's take a look at how armour works. Each piece of gear can protect you from damage. But despite this, powerful weaponry can pierce through them. Especially if they crit. Every hit has a 10% chance to crit, dealing 150% damage. Both the hit chance and damage of crits can be modified. And last, but not least — your morale, which is represented by the momentum system. The morale of your party is not constant and will fluctuate over the course of battle. This system allows you and your companions to make use of unique abilities. And those are the basics! Now you are ready to crush your opponents, or at the very least understand why you died trying!
