Maybe I'm an idiot but this is the first time I got the idea behind the two turntables.. so you need two of the same record!
I love that this was just a convoluted way to loop the little funky drum parts of 70s records.. that those little 4 bar samples were awesome enough people wanted to build completely new genres of music off them..
This is similar to the origins of the bass in popular music, going from just doubling the music in a lower register (which is why its a 'double bass') and having only tiny between song fills to do anything more fun to being more and more its own instrument
The Get Down is worth a watch in my opinion. It's very theatrical and it has a really unique period feel to it.
