Grace For The Seasons Of Life

open your Bibles with me to the Book of Isaiah in Chapter number 40 Isaiah chapter 40 commencing in verse number 28 Isaiah chapter 40 missing in verse 28 reads has thou not known has thou not heard that the everlasting God the Lord the creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not neither is weary there is no searching of his understanding he giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might he increases strength even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as Eagles they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint thank you you may have you seeds grass withers and the flower fades with the word of our God shall stand forever I want to talk a minute about grace for the seasons of life grace for the seasons of life I wish you would not tell this to the eleven o'clock people but I preached in California on yesterday and flew back here late last night just to come and preach at 7:30 this morning I just love preaching early in the morning and I I would appreciate it if you wouldn't tell my eleven o'clock people that but I just enjoy this early morning I just enjoy getting up early in the morning to come and give God praise first thing in the morning this grace for the seasons of life there's some passages of scripture that I just love to read from the King James Version Psalm 23 does not sound right unless you read it from the King James Version Romans 8:28 doesn't sound right unless you read it from the King James translation Isaiah 40 doesn't sound right to me unless it's read from the King James translation has thou not known has thou not heard that the everlasting God the Lord the creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not neither is weary there is no searching of his understanding he giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might he increaseth strength even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but they that wait upon the Lord they that hope in the Lord they that look to the Lord those who depend on the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint in rest 28 Isaiah writes about the names of God significant that God's names enumerate God's actions whatever God is doing his people give him a name corresponding to his actions he's the everlasting God Elohim olam which identifies God as the eternal one he has no beginning he has no ending his Alpha and Omega he's the beginning and the end he's the first and the last there was never a time when he was not he is the everlasting God Elohim olam and then he's Lord that word Lord in the text is Jehovah his name identifies the Lord as the self-existent one he depends on no one or no thing for his existence he is jehova rohi the Lord my shepherd he is Jehovah Jireh the Lord my provider he is Jehovah Shalom the Lord my peace his Jehovah Rapha the Lord my healer his Jehovah sitka new the Lord my righteousness his jehova shamma the Lord who is there he is Jehovah Nissi the Lord who is my banner he is Jehovah El Elyon the God who is Most High he is God everlasting from everlasting to everlasting whatever I need Jehovah is van to provide that's that's God's names in the a part of verse 28 but in the B part of verse 28 and verse 29 isaiah moves from his names to his nature he fainteth not neither is he weary there is no searching of his understanding God is is is is ontologically other there's no one like him he's not to be compared with some higher power God is not some force out in the universe he is a personal God he is a creator of the ends of the earth there's no searching of his understanding he neither slumbers nor sleeps he's our keeper he's our shade on our right hand he's our hightower he's a shepherd he's our chief Shepherd he's our Good Shepherd he provides for us he opens doors for us he prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies he anoints our head with oil my cup runs over because of his goodness and his mercy that just keeps on following us God is a very present help in the time of trouble everything we need God provides when we are down he picks us up when we are sick he makes us well when we lost he comes and finds us when we are low he comes to lift up I bow down heads everything I need I can find it in God now that God is worthy of worship I say that God is worthy of worship and it said one more time that God is worthy of your best hallelujah your loudest thank you Jesus that God is worth you getting up early in the morning driving to wherever you live and lifting your hands in his presence to say what I have you gave me where I am you brought me is there anybody here got up this morning to praise that God he's the creator of the ends of the earth he never faints he never gets weary he never tires of me calling on him somebody should have shouted right there he never gets tired of listening to my prayers he never gets weary when I sure tomorrow with the same problems I have today I wish I had one or two more witnesses here he never faints he never tires he never wears out he never gives away he never gets weak that's no searching of his understanding he giveth power to the weak and to them that have no might he increases the strength even the youths strong young men even the youths shall faint and be weary and young men shall shall utterly fall but the text words in verse 31 but they that wait they that hope they that look to the Lord that that's what that word weight means it doesn't mean just sitting down idly doing nothing it means looking to the Lord in every situation of your life they that wait upon the Lord shall renew that strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run not get weary walk and not faint this word of isaiah takes us back to Psalm number one that talks about the life of the individual who hangs around with the unbeliever the psalmist says blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly nor stand in the way of sinners nor sits in the seat of the scornful here's the progression with walking with unbelievers first you start to walk with them and then they slow you down long enough to stand with them and enough time passes and you start sitting with them you completely stop growing stop praising stop praying stop going to church stop giving God glory in your life stop completely letting God use you because you have walked with them now you're standing with them and enough time passes you start sitting with it but I there says if you wait on God the converse of what happened in Psalm 1 happens to the child of God he will give you grace to soar you will mount up with wings like an eagle soar he'll give you grace to soar if you've never seen an eagle in flight it's a beautiful sight to behold it has a huge wingspan that one flap of its wings can take it for miles an eagle can peer directly into sunlight and never blink his eyes because of his strength because of his agility because of his power the wind underneath him just causes him to soar and when you walk with God his power his strength his wind beneath your wings just causes you to soar now his way I want to go and Eagle does not need to fly through a storm because its wingspan is so expansive and his strength is so great that when storms come he does not have to fly through it he can fly over it he just moves up away from the clouds and when you walk with God you will encounter storms in your life but he'll give you the strength of an eagle to rise above your storms somebody ought to help me here I need somebody who's had some storms in your life and other people are falling apart but you are just soaring now if you can't testify here don't don't don't don't don't say a word but some of us have been through some storms in our personal life in our financial situation in our family life and God just gave us the strength not to fly through it but to fly over when you when you walk through a storm and God has held your hand and brought you through some of the most difficult times in your life your response are always being praised I don't understand people who God has blessed and they're so ungrateful he's opened the door and you can't even praise his name he's made a way and you're too stubborn to even clap your hand well you just go right on back to sleep let me talk to the people here who like me have been through some storms has been over some storms and God has given you the strength to soar if you are here this morning and you're not too mean you're not too dignified you're not too sleepy you're not too sophisticated you don't have enough money you don't have enough power you don't have enough strength to make it through what you need to make it through and God will come to your rescue if God ever brought you out if he's giving you wings to so you will matter with wings what's this like an eagle not a chicken not a goose not a turkey because Eagles now hang around with chicken if you're an eagle you got to watch your company somebody ought to help me preach it if God has given you wings like an eagle don't walk around like a goose not walk around like a turkey or chicken and don't hang around with people with goose mindsets I'm talking about God brought you out you come to church to prison and a goose will tell you it don't take all that somebody ought to help me appreciate it but when you know that it was nobody but the law when you are convinced that you wouldn't be standing here today if it were not for the message and the kindness of God I've got a witness here I need somebody who really knows that when storms come and God will help you to get over your storm you can praise God with excitement with enthusiasm with jaw with the energy because God has been just that good he walked me up this moon he started me on my way he delivered me from the hands of my enemies you shall mount up with wings like an eagle and just so men life happens you you you saw in your youth in your youthful exuberance youthful excitement young people walk fast they they text fast they think fast they always one step ahead of you I was I was riding with Satan the other day but my little my little four-year-old granddaughter and she was asking the question after question after question and I was answering every question and I said to her I know everything they asked me nothing I don't know I know everything and she asked me one more question I said Noel be quiet you asked him any question she said I thought you said you knew everything they're always thinking they always moving fast they saw that they're able to to get out the way wheeled quickly but when you get middle-aged bills and sickness trouble heart break you don't fly as high but he still gives you strength he still gives you grace to sprint I'm not sorry now but I still got grace to sprint you mount up with wings like an eagle you will run and not get weary thank God for that because there are times when life Clips your wing situations get you down I need somebody to be honest with me here you lost a loved one and it it took the wind out your sails you thought you'd be at a different place at the age you are right now but your dreams have not yet come true but God still gives you grace to run this race Paul says no you're not that all of us running the race so that all of us can get the prize he says I'm in this race not shadowboxing not beating the air for sure but I beat my body that I made make it my slave so that when I have preached to others my greatest fear is that I myself should become cast away the prize I have helped others to gain I can be disqualified for that very prize somebody ought to help me here even though you're going through the storm you're not able to soar as high as you once did God still gives you grace to run run run it gets hard sometimes but keep running they lie on you but keep running they talk bad about you out of your presence but cheap running they speak evil of the good you're trying to accomplish but keep running they don't want to see you get a breakthrough but keep running they criticize you for praising God the way you praise God but keep run run don't get weary don't let them discourage you don't let the chickens and turkeys and geese in your life change your Eagle mentality anybody can criticize come on help me preach a minute anybody can talk scandalously about you because of what you did or did not do but they don't know your story they don't know how many storms God has brought you through they don't know how many struggles you have had to endure to have the kind of faith and the kind of testimony that you have right now that's why you praise God so loudly I wish I had one or two more witness of it that's why you give God your best in service because you know for yourself what God brought you through the more he presses me the more I praise him the more I'm stressed the more I need to be in worship the more trouble comes my way the more I need to be on my knees pray because God uses stress and trouble pain and trial to draw me close to him and so I run so that I can finish the race you gonna help me preach this water Paul says headed towards the back stretch the finish line is now in view he says I fought a good fight I wish I had one or two more witness I finish the race I've Rhenish the course I've kept the faith henceforth there is a crown waiting on me and not just for me but to all those also I wish a head of witnesses to everybody who finishes the race the race is not to the Swift neither the battle to the strong but to everyone who can endure who can hold out who can keep running to the end I want to keep on running in spite of my pain in spite of my trials in spite of my enemies in spite of the obstacles that's in my way I want God to give me grace to keep on running but then there's a last season of life that God gives us grace to endure soaring sprinting and this last one is strolling you mount up with wings like eagles that's sorry you shall run and not get weary that's sprinting and then the last one says you will walk and not faint that's that's trolling sometimes oftentimes most times the best testimony is not that God delivered you for some from some dread illness a God rescued you and saved you out of some car wreck or God got you off alcohol and drugs that's good testimony but sometimes the testimony is I just been walking with God since I was 15 13 since I was 20 and since I was 18 since I was 30 I haven't been to jail I just been walking with God hear me brothers and sisters the testimony is not always what God delivered you from but your testimony could be what God kept you from he kept me from hurt harm in danger I wish I had a witness it I admire I praise God for those persons whose testimonies are graphic and and this outlandish that God delivered them from some great trial but I thank God for the testimony of saints who just been walking with it you've been walking with him since you were a teenager you've been walking with him it hasn't been anything extraordinary and there have been anything out of the way you just have the testimony that God has given me grace to stay on course because you better listen you better listen is easy to get distracted it's easy to walk the other way but when you walk with God when you wait on God he'll gives you strength he'll give you grace to soar to sprint and when the time comes he'll help you to just walk with it I'm talking about people in my crowd now 50 and older you just walk in now you ain't scorin can't sprint them all you just walk Thunder moon you just walking at the hospital just walking at the graveyard laying mama down laying daddy your brother sister down a child you just just walked doctor's appointments just walking medicine children getting on your nerves husband walk out just walk in it's been rough but you're still walking you get tired but you're still walking and then every once in a while you're singing a little song blessed assurance Jesus is mine oh what a foretaste of glory divine I'm an air salvation I've been purchased by God born of his spirit just just walking just walk washed in his blood this this is my story just just walk in this is my song I'm praising my sick just just walking all the day long I've had to cry but I'm still walking I have some pains but I'm still walking and listen when you keep on walking here's what God will do you remember Enoch Enoch walked with God and one day God took him someone ought to help me close it God said we've been walking a long time and since you closer to where I live then the way you live come on go home with me and one day while I'm walking singing my song I'm just gonna walk and go home with him I'm gonna go home to be with the Lord because when you saw when you sprint when you walk at least you're headed in the same direction and so I want to encourage somebody this morning don't turn back don't give up the race don't let your enemy get the upper hand God is on your side you're gonna help me close this won't you have you not known have you not heard that the everlasting God the Lord the creator of the ends of the earth he faint is not neither is he weary there is no searching of his understanding you'll help me close this won't you the youths shall faint and grow weary and the young men shall utterly fall but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength I'm glad about that because I've learned how to wait on the Lord he may not come when you want it but if you wait on him the good news is he will always be on time is that anybody here know God will show up when life has you pinned in a corner God will show up when it looks like bottom is about to fall out God will come to your rescue I need somebody here who used to soar like an eagle you use a sprint like a runner but now you're just walking with the Lord because time has taken a toll on you but with time comes godly experience you're gonna help me close this want you I need somebody here with some experience with the Lord who can help me testify that God will bring you out God will bring you through God will take you in and God will see you over over every strong through every trial I wish I had one or two more witnesses here if the Lord open the door for you and you're not embarrassed to testify because I told you when you wait on the Lord and the Lord comes through for you the response is to give God your best praise somebody here standing this morning because you wouldn't made it where you are right now if the Lord hadn't kept you he kept you through the death of your loved ones he kept you through sickness in your body he kept you through trouble in your family he kept you trying to raise your children by yourself he kept you with people laughing behind your back he kept you in folks saying you're never going to be anything he kept me when they thought you'd never make it to where you are right now but look where the Lord brought you from look how far God has kept you and if you walk in with him this morning you ought not be ashamed to be a witness I'm walking with Jesus because every day with Jesus is sweeter then the day before we used to hear the old folks in walk with me while I'm on this teacher's journey I want Jesus to walk with me if the Lord open doors for you help me praise His name if the Lord help you to soar over your situation help me magnify his name if the Lord gave you grace to sprint through your trials help me live glad hands in the sanctuary if the Lord is giving you grace to just walk with it why don't you grab somebody shake somebody's hand and tell them I'm walking with Jesus I'm walking with Jesus just a closer walk with thee granted Jesus if you please I wish I had a shout of here this morning I wish I had a praise a hit this morning who knows that when praises go up blessings will come down when you walk with the Lord in obedience he'll make a way I don't know where he'll do things for you that you never thought would be possible why don't you hug somebody telling me you don't know like I know come on preach it like I'm preaching him you don't know like I know what the Lord has done for me he's right ever until he's carried every burden he lifted my body down ahead and the reason he can do it so well it's cuz one Friday on a skull shaped Hill and a blood-soaked cross he died didn't he die they buried his body in a bar of green but Sunday morning he got up he got up with all power is there anybody here no he got her up if the Lord been good to you now is the time this is the place turn off thank you for all you've done for me thank you for the many ways you mean shake somebody's hand why don't you shake your neighbor the hand tell them if you sweep if you wait on the Lord you can mount up come on help me preach it you can soar like an eagle you can sprint like a runner you can walk and not get River whoa God do it for you I said workout do it for you he's a homo Jared he will provide he's a homo sit canoe he is our righteousness he's your horse alone he is our peace ah no he's our here walks with me he talks with me he tablet I'm his own have you tried don't fooling huh have you tried any alright ah boys are uh-huh I know I know I know he's a waymaker he's a hard fixer he's a burden bearer he's a problem solver yarn or induction he's a rock in a weary land a shelter in a time of storm a friend whinny of friendless bread when you hunger water when you're thirsty why don't you grab somebody tell him he will show up be not dismayed whatever betide God where God will God will I know he's our a bow not her has thou not known that the everlasting God the Lord Jehovah the creator of the ends of the earth he faint if not neither is he weary he giveth power to the faint and them that have no might he increases strength the youth shall faint and grow weary even the young men shall utterly fall ah but they that wait upon the Lord shall no question about it renew that strength mount up wings like an eagle's soul run and not get weary sprint and then when you're soaring these over when you're spreading these over you will walk and not faint and then one day you're just gonna keep on walking you like Enoch did just just keep on what through the valley of the shadow of death and fear no evil for Yahweh Jehovah is with me my brothers are standing now there might be somebody here this morning who does not have the strength you think to make it another day you've been going through it you've been having it one way through Sunday one trial after another one one one situation after another but I got good news for you just keep on walking as a brighter day ahead that's a that's a bright side somewhere just keep searching until you find it don't don't don't don't get weary that's that's what that's that's what I old folk heard listen before we sing listen to this in our civil rights days in the dog days of our struggle they went to churches where they were put in in sections reserved for slaves and blacks and they heard the white preachers say to them one thing he said one thing but they heard something else he said to them you will always be slaves but they heard before obviously I'll be buried in my grave and go home to my lord and be free he said to them you were born to be in the trouble that you're in you are our property you were born for this responsibility that's what he said to them and he said to them that is going to last because you are our property that's what he said but they heard I'm so glad trouble don't last always and you got to stop listening to what the devil says and hear what God said the devil says you're not going to have strength to make it through this situation but here's what you need to hear but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
